Good evening!
We've just posted a Role-Playing guide (http://www.war-europe.com/#/specialfeat/?lang=en&feat=roleplayguide) as well as an interview (http://img.war-europe.com/syndic_img/specialfeat/Derellas.html) with one of the many prominent role-players on Burlok; Derellas. We hope you'll find these texts inspiring!
As attested by the Burlok forums (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=318) here at WHA, Burlok has a vivid and friendly community. Also, naturally, the 20% universal bonus doesn't hurt!
Cheers,
Magnus

Thanks for the information. :)

Oups you're quite right; Role-playing love can indeed be misinterpreted. Badly. Although.. I don't think WAR is the game of choice for those who are primarily interested in cybering.

All's fair in love and WAR?
/emote is smashed by a gigantic piece of cheese.

Gah reading the title "Role-Playing love" I was hoping we would finally get a /walk command and a duelling option. :(
The RP guide is very good, will hopefully help alot of people new to roleplaying :D

You might want to re-consider that in light of the many slanesshi dedicated Destruction guilds :p
Still nice info thanks for letting us know :D

I thought the title was going to be something much different.
I was expecting like...
"/em sticks it in >:3" - lol.

Indeed, although all I really want ATM is /walk... especially considering how walking animations are already ingame (you see NPCs walking (ones belonging to your own race) and even YOUR character walks when slowed down so it puzzles me why walking wasn't included).

So Magnus, when are you going to share that guide on role-playing love you wrote secretly? ;)
"Aight, I put on my robe and wizard hat."
On a more serious note: Feedback about adding some of the Role-play friendly things that are mentioned in this thread have been forwarded to Mythic.

God lord, is that still floating around the uberwebs?
On a serious note I'd like to see a /rude and some form or /challenge. Playing a Gobbo and an Orc, these would be good.
Not sure aboput a /duel though, or that could be the more cultured version of /challenge. I just want the emote's actions to fit each race like they do now. What has been done has been done well.

I think a lot more animated emotes would be welcomed by all the players, not just us roleplayers.
One of the thing that made people so fond of their characters in that other game was all the animated stuff they did when they talked, shouted, laughed (a simple "hehe" made your character do a laughing emote) etc. I would really -really. like to see that implemented in WAR. Would give it a bit more personal touch, as I sometimes get the feeling that I am playing a robot. She does what I tell her to do and nothing else. Except for the idle animations (which is a good step in the right way!).
/walk /sit /sleep are already in game for mobs, so I am sure they will be avliable to us players in the future. The sooner the better!
Age of Conan had a lot of cool animated emotes, like /hug, where your character actually animated a hug.
Would be nice if we had a few special emotes that was avaliable for one class only. Like a seductive flirtatious one for Witch Elves or a ritualistic trance for zealots. Just something fun for everybody to play with.

Well, after the legal department made the guide appropriate for a 12+ audience there wasn't really much left so I gave up on it.

But back on topic : i think most roleplayers would kill for a sit and walk command. Although this new spell might be something for those slaanesh types...

Nice guide. :)
Any chance for the Italian community to have an enviroment where to RP?
We still have no RP servers and on Gorthor is not doable, even if we tried hard to RP.
There are also other problems I explained to 2 GMs, who redirected them to another GoA department.
We lack the numbers to have our own RP server; I and some friends, with a frozen account, still hope for a transfer to Burlok or to another European RP server.
But for few, reroll is not an option, because of high ranks, and we are pretty in a dead end situation that is driving us to quit.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hey GOA how about making a 2nd RP server, like turning a current one into one. There's only ONE to roleplay on! What about ppl who have Destro and order? :-x

I doubt the game could take it.. Burlock is hardly the thriving hub of either side. I hope they actaully allow us off the RP server on to more active ones. We have a really nice bunch of people on Order Burlock but sadly only to often its too quiet.
Role Play is odd I found that up to T4 was loads of it and could sit there and have a good laugh and banter. T4 I don't see much about anymore.

Wondered the same thing myself ;) Not seen a EU Herald update by anyone except regular forum users in days(weeks?).

I second this. I'm not even sure more emotes are even needed but adding the emote actions to the existing emote text might fill in many gaps and add all kinds of flavor.

Just saw this thread and thought it was highly ironic in the light of the last EU RP servers likely to be closed down imminently, even more so when trial accounts could not be created on those servers so we didn't get new blood in for quite some time now. Where's the RP love now?
