It may well be time to open a Slayer forum so we can all get busy with the hair clippers and orange dye whilst we wait for our outpouring from Slayer Keep and other holds to wreak bloody vengence on the Orc Scum that defile our lands.

So time to open a forum for us to crack open a keg or six, pass the pig fat and whetstones out and mumble and grumble about how we shall seek our glorious death.

I already started reserving names, and hope that they do implement them. All I can think of is the following.

Destruction player:
"We look cooler than you guys because we wear spikes, leather chains, thirst for blood, and listen to heavy metal ... we PWN."
Order player:
"We have Dwarf Slayers."

"....... umm......... nvm"

There's more than one of you. The small number of trollslayers (plus their short life expectancy) should've pretty much ruled them out as far as playable classes are concerned.

I don't know if it will balance out the server population, but order doesn't need just a bunch of melee DD running around. They need to balance out archtypes as well.

Death in the game is just a mechanic, and Karak Kadrin has a whole Slayer Army (That can be fielded in the TT).
We have an incredibly iconic and popular career possibility, why not include it? And that's what Mythic did. Go Slayer 09!

As for the balance concerns, people are forgetting that it also means the return of the Choppa, who is equally popular and expected on the Destro side.

-Saying one of the two classes will be cut.
-Giving Ironbreakers great hammers.
-Moving some of the hammerer art to the Ironbreaker page.
-Removing the Hammer from the Armies of War Page.
-Popularity of Choppa over Hammerer.
-Developers wanting to add the Choppa in.
-Hammerer showing up then followed by "This is not the Dwarf MDPs"
-Big Announcement at the end of the month.
-Orange Hair Dye and Haircut kit with a tag showing the end of the month.

So if this isn't enough to say yes Slayers is replacing Hammerer then I don't know it.
If its a joke...shame on mythic xD

If this is, indeed, a sign that Slayers will be released in the future, then I can tell you I am elated. I've honestly been losing interest in the game, and have had a great desire for one thing that is missing--a MDPS Dwarf class. That's really all I want right now. Can't wait.

Oh, yes. I do despise that copter thing we get. It seems to fit my Engineer, so I like it for him, but that really is a contributing factor (although a small one) to me not leveling up a RP or IB. However, I can get past how my mount looks if I like the class (this is a large contributing factor to me not leveling up a RP or IB).

Well nobody at Mythich and GOA is denying it yet and they did say hammerer is out. I wouldn't know what else it could be so I'm fairly confident.

By Grimnir's Beard, this slayer forum should remain even if slayers are declared non-canon by GW and are retconned out of exsistence.
It will be a place for slayer posts to go, for a start. The main Dwarf Forums was starting to turn into a Slayer board on it's own :D

since beta i had intended to roll a hammerer. i was pissed that they were eliminated and have not found i class that i really enjoy since (i have played 6 different order classes into T3).

that said, im stoked for slayers to be put into the game. they appear to have the potential to be more fun then hammerer.

i just hope they put them in sooner rather then later. how long did it take after they announced knights and blackgaurds till they were playable? wastn it only like a month or 2?

Mythic should make winged helms with bonuses for vengeance and stats for more offensive gameplay, and maybe a damage bonus, if using a 2h HAMMER, not axe.

That way the people who wanted hammerer would get one in form of a vengeance IB with a winged/horned helm. The helm being the only REALLY defining piece of armor that separated the hammerer from the IB, as far as looks go.

Slap a 2h hammer on a IB and give him a winged helm... Presto, hammerer look-a-like.
