What exactly is the Choppa in the Warhammer IP?

Ganted I haven't played Warhammer Fantasy in ages, but I don't remember the Orc Choppa as a unit. Is there any lore surounding the Orc Choppa? Or are they just supposed to be the standard Orc grunt?

They are basically one of the Boyz, just a little more intense. Think of them as the step between a standard Boyz and a Black Orc.

Every character in the game is like some kind of special forces guy...
They're not "I've come to save the world" types but more of "I'm way better at killing
and tanking than npcs" Choppas and Black Orcs are like the Big Un's in Orc society, they get all the good stuff but still fall in the category of foot soldier.

I like to think of the choppa as;
An orc odd boy who dusnt like being slowed down by Big armer an fings (he cant catch da runts wen dey run den!) and luvs stabbin fings up close wiv da rest of da ladz. ;)

There isn't a direct connection between the Choppa and the Warhammer IP like Black Orcs or Slayers, which actually go by that name in novels and the games. However, Choppas would probably classify under Big 'Uns, which are basically the top 'regular' boyz. They're tougher, bigger, stronger, and more bloodthirsty and skilled than your average orc and as such tend to have better weapons and armor(although not as good as the Black Orcs').

Choppa is not an orc type in the IP (Fantasy. In 40k they are, but called Slugga Boyz)

A choppa is the name given by orcs to any large heavy chunk of sharpened metal used to kill things. This means anything from a carving knife to a two handed battleaxe. However it would not be uncommon for an orc to describe another orc as "dead choppy"

The Choppa is, basicly, an Orc Boy. Nothing more nothing less, only difference is in lore terms you are one of the Big 'Uns. They only got their name from their weapons! What do ya expect?
