Another player's ToK

Here is the real question I have about the ToK. Should we be able to click on another player and have the option of reading their ToK to see what kind of player they are? This would have both benifits and disadvantages, what do you guys think?

Another question, will the ToK be character, server, account based? Im assuming so, but will your alts be able to share your mains ToK?

I believe its confirmed that you can choose which pages in your ToK that you wanna share with others. So when others want to view your ToK they can only see the pages you have chosen to share.

This means that if you have that super rare ToK page about what shoe size a Bloodthrister normally uses, you can brag to everyone else about how cool you are. ;)

Pretty simple, let it be an option for the player you are trying to read. He decides if his tome is viewable or not.

I dont really see an advantage or disadvantage to this. I dont think you should be able to do it on enemies for no other reason than it doesnt seem to make sense.

I'm hoping they build the tome into the warherald so if you want you can have your tome up there for other people to see your accomplishments if thats your thing.

Eh it might get annoying if it is the players option to allow them to view their ToK. If we are talking a pop up box type thing then even more annoying. It could get in the way of other things you might be doing so in that sense it would piss me off.

I don't think it would necessarily be a pop-up box, but more of an interface option in the Game Menu. If the act of someone reading your ToK did pop up a screen (similar to Trade Menus), then you could make the default setting be to off with a training tooltip that suggests if can be turned on in the Game Menu. :)

I think it would be something like WoW's inspect system. Like you just right click the character and click a ToK option or something and you can read through the pages that they want viewable.

Could have a small tickbox on each section of your tome if you want it viewable, then just another option for people rightclicking your character to read viewable sections.

Mh...don't think you should be able to read the whole ToK. Maybe only certain parts...RvR achievements and kills, for example.

I think the most open option would be to have the choice of people to either view parts of your choice or the entire ToK, I mean why not. Gratz to who suggested the idea because it truly is fabulous. When it comes to showing another player your ToK, I don't really see the point of that. I would find it irritating if it gets shoved in my face. If on the other hand someone sent me a message to check out such and such page of their ToK, I then have the choice to view it without much hassle. In my opinion that is a much better system.

I don't think you should be able to read his ToK. You should earn the right to those unlocks by getting them yourself. It would be nice if you could get some indications on what sort of things he has unlocked, however.

If people wished to see how well others were doing with their ToK, I think just a level based percentage be shown or something similar, to see how well they've managed to advance through it.

As for sharing the information, it'll happen one way or another between friends and would be alot easier if you were able to offer them the option of say copying the page to their ToK so they'd beable to follow up on that at a later date to complete it. Saves alot of time instead of having to sit there and type all of the locations etc.

Absolutely not. Its no ones business what I have or haven't unlocked yet.
