Along the lines of what the previous poster stated. When it was the Choppa/Hammerer I had every intention of dropping Order to play a Choppa. The concept of the Hammerer wasnt as appealing to me. The Slayer on the otherhand has me torn. I will likely play a Slayer.

Most of us presented feedback about the Hammerer sucking in Beta, and then never heard back about them after they were originally removed from the Beta. Over time I imagine they just felt the Slayer is by far more iconic and they must have found a way to make it presentable in this game. Slayer was the original choice for the Dwarf Melee DPS but they had no good ideas for itemization which led to them being replaced by the Hammerer. I guess they found a way to itemize him and went back to their original idea.

While this forum represents a small minority of the people who play this game, we are a good sample to take information from. When all of the Hammerer vs Slayer topics result in over 100 votes and each time the Slayer won over 80% of the vote, they likely took the hint at that is what we would prefer given the choice.

Really, Slayers are just Hammerers renamed and given new weapons. Not a whole lot of difference. Just like Blood Priests are just Disciples with the newer name, etc.

Probably the main reason I wanted the Hammerer over the Slayer was the fact the Hammerer has visual armor. I like to play dress-up and put on armor that looks good on my characters. I just can't get into as much with the Slayer cause he is shirtless.

That being said I hope with expansions we will see the hammerer return to WAR.

true, but the cinematics aren't supposed to be fully accurate. otherwise that chosen/WP battle would have taken roughly 4 hours, and in the second cinematic the Sorceress wouldn't have been able to 1-shot tanks

yeah, i understand that fans of the hammerer are going to be disappointed, but the mechanics for the slayer are pretty similar to those originally advertized for the hammerer. and let's be honest, in appearance and lore the hammerer seemed pretty similar to the Ironbreaker. so while it's a bummer, i'm gonna side with the slayer in this case. but either way, at least the two most melee-oriented races, orcs and dwarves, are finally getting their MDPS back.

Im glad that the Hammerers were taken out of the game... It didnt really sit right lore-wise with me. The hammerers are the King's personal guards. Why would they be out fighting a war and not protecting the king

Lol I had the same issue back when I played zealot but with all the accessories, (feathers and such) but trust me they looked plenty covered. The same thing will happen with slayer.

Slayers are much more iconic. They have been featured in a lot of WAR stuff. I just don't think they were sure they could do them justice.

It sounds like the Slayer mechanic is just the Hammerer mechanic modified.

As I understand it, rage is more like Combustion modified. Hammer's worked more like morale.

they are the elite body guard, go check the last dwarven stand in game if you're order, you'll see lots of them there.

If you care about armor. play a tank, you sound more like the witch hunting type.... make your little barbie doll I want a buck naked dwarf screaming bloody murder while whirlwinding an axe into someone's A** and watching it come out of their mouth. Hammerer's made no sense from the beginning.... and now that justice has been served... prepare for .. Goootrek, GGotrek Gotrec, etc, etc..... ! Slayer Madness!
