Slayers and choppas will be mdps toons with a bw/ soc backlash effect.

The more they do damage the stronger they become but the more damage they do to themselves in the process... hmmm

Am i the only one that thinks slayers and choppas will drop faster than wh or w/e due to the fighting style they have along with being on the front line.

See the way I understand it is that the more rage or berserk they get the more susceptible to damage they become. To me that does not mean melee version of backlash. To me that sounds more like the more rage/berserk they get they lose wounds or maybe toughness or resists or armor or a combination of the above. So the more psycho they get the easier they are to kill. At least that is how I read it.

Slayers won't have a backslash effect. Rather a backside in reduced toughness and parry.

they don't do damage to themselfs... it lowers their toughness and overall resists. L2read

indeed. I think their rage thing or what ever it is will most likely also unlock some of their higher dps abilities so there is a bigger benefit in reaching the highest rage lvl, at least it worked a bit similar in the early beta with the choppa

Thats cool to know. But again what i mean is not the effect of bw / soc blowing up but the mechanic on how they take more damage at 100 combustion. Thats what i mean... so am guessing slayers / choppa will have to dumb there rage / berserk like bw / soc do.

As far as i understand Slayer and choppa will float between Marauders and WEs on survivability and damage, which is extremely interesting and challenging in my opinion. I just hope they'll have not too many CC but valuable ones.

Developers stated in podcast that Slayer will not be a CC-heavy career ;) I guess this is a step to right direction. I believe we'll see CC toned down all over the place.

its about balance and learning how to play...

yes some ppl will run around with 100 combustion and blow them selves up and those same ppl will be at 100 rage witha slayer and die in 5 seconds...

but if you learn how to play smarter... like get a tank to guard you or... build up rage when ur not the target and dump it when you are.... CRAZY HUH !!!

its what seperates the good from the rest

Slayers Will Stack Wounds+STR and ignore Toughness (since I'd guess its a % debuff to Toughness as "Frenzy" builds)

Slayers in a Group, with Guard and Good Healers will probably be one of the best DPS in the game (same with Choppas)

Slayers Solo not getting heals will likely just plain suck.

Besides, wounds is far better then toughness.

L2listen.

Just fun.But you explode so easily, I had to write this.

Btw, they also wrote in the video:
"Prolonged rage ... increases vulnerability"
/evil stop

Don´t want to give you the needle. But not taking yourself too serious makes life so much more comfortable.:D

Whatever increased vulnerability means in detail we don´t know yet.
Interesting mechanic.Brawlin got it right.

If true that would be sad. It goes against everything a slayer realy is, 1 one vs 1 kinda guy.

lol... nice one. i just dont like that there also going to have the event thing again... the last one for kotbs and bg for me sucked big time. And to allow people again to start a week earlier than everyone else when people have been waiting since open beta to play the choppa [ 1 of the 2 new classes ] sucks.

But what can you do huh...

"Once the Bitter Rivals live event begins on February 24th, players who log into WAR will see a new tab in the Tome of Knowledge. Clicking on this tab will open the Live Events page, where each day we'll place a special new daily task. Completing these daily tasks earns influence, just like you'd earn in a public quest. There are rewards for Basic, Advanced and Elite influence, culminating in the ultimate prize: the chance to play WAR's new classes a full week before they're released to the public! This last reward won't be easy to earn, and players who want to get to the Elite level will need to log in each day and complete on the daily event"

Yeah because 15 hours of grinding over a 3 day period for that keg pack was so much fun........ We can't wait to do it again :(.

And this time they claim the 3rd reward will be really hard to get. What, like the last one was? The 3rd Heavy Metal reward was relatively easy to get (the 2nd Witching Night reward was difficult, let alone the 3rd).

So hopefuly things will be balancing out nicely again (And hopefuly they won't just unlock all the tasks at once to make it really easy for everyone).

All I care abotu is Slayer and Choppa early - everything else fails short xD

The live event will, without a doubt, be exactly like the Heavy Metal event. To do otherwise would get too many people frothy, just like they did when Heavy Metal started. Honestly, they don't WANT it to be hard to do. They want people to start playing the new classes right away. But it's a marketing tactic to have people 'earn' the early week. The closer they get to 100% buy-in, the happier they are, because it means the marketing is working.

In any case, if you got the KotBS/BG early, then Choppa/Slayer will likely be no problem.

Incorrect sir! The LONGER they fight (not damage they do) the angrier they get. This causes them to do more damage to others, but allows others to do more damage to them as they begin to ignore their defenses.

Toughness and armor decrease the higher your rage gets is the way I understand it. Probably resistances as well. So at full rage I suspect they will be as squishy or squishier than WH or WE, but also do more damage, meaning that depending on how many healers you have on you you have to monitor your rage and not let it get too high, but if you have like, 4 healers on you go max rage and destroy everything.
