Topic. Discuss. I know I'm leaving my Rank 40 Chosen and like a million Destruction alts behind. Slayer is just too awesome to ignore. First time I saw the cinematic, I said: "That. I wanna be that guy." That little dwarf made my year, and when I heard 'twould be hammerers in-game, rather then slayers, I was quite upset.

But now they're on the way, so I wave farewell to my Destruction characters, who knows if I'll be back. *sniff sniff* :(

You think thats bad... I left a 40 black guard, and a 40 zealot for order, and made a 40 swordmaster while waiting for slayer... Now im making a white lion :( when will this madness end!!!!!

But it will be worth it that slayer looks just to freakin bad a.s.$!

I been waiting for hammerer since they were removed I became a Bright Wizard, but since Slayer is taking the position of the hammerer I'm leaving behind my Rank 40 Bright Wizard to have a Slayer be my main. I just pray that people won't flood the career based only on having a "cool" appearance since some people will give that career a bad name then.
Same here. Exactly same here. I don't really think the career will be flooded. There will be a huge burst of slayers when they will be released but not many of them will reach to lvl 40. Same happened to knights and BG, same will happen to Slayer/Choppa I s'pose.

I suppose your correct. I just never enjoyed playing an overpopulated career in my MMORPG years. Most of it game from Final Fantasy XI I suppose a overpopulated career effects the rate of which you are invited to a party since people have the mindset of one badly geared class means the rest of them are the same. Of course I'm not saying it will be the same as Final Fantasy, It'll just make me feel like I'm on the bandwagon of the popular career.

That's disappointing in my opinion. Flocking to a faction or career based on appearance has to be a odd way of selection in my opinion. I prefer to select based on which career is closet to the type of play style I enjoy, but that's just me. None of the order careers are boring and as far as a plain appearance order isn't suppose to be running around in ten ton armor with skulls on their spikes and all that. Which is why I suppose my guild back in the day consisted of players twenty one or older since a large base of young players went to destruction for that purpose.

I rolled a Rune Priest (R40) as I'd played with them during CB, the engi was too close to my dwarf hunter in WoW and after lvling an IB 1-15 and playing at 30 & 40 during CB never got into the being hit over and over thing.

Whilst I've had fun healing and doing all the support bits that RP's do, I am sick of not hurting things and a bit tired of the whinge when players die.

My salvation! A small spiky headed ball of rage that gets two axes in hand and cleaves into the enemy with the battle cry
"Kiss ma AXE"

I'll play on the same server as I can always go back to healing if my guild need it.

Believe me, this "madness" will pass with time... "Coolness" and "good looks" dont keep your interest for too long... I speak for myself, and i am convinced this will happen to others... I LOVE the chosen in its early levels, but in the end, its just to flashy for me, yet i never got past lvl 10 because the entire career and the name and feel of the skills just dont talk to me.. i dont like the concept either...

Have a lvl 40 WP, i love its lore, the skills are great, he looks great with high lvl armor sets like sentinel etc, but its not really my type, i mean i like helping others with heals and resses, but i get tired pretty fast because that's what i end up doing all the time, i want to fight aswell...

When the knights were released, seeing them all over the place was kind of bad, and i did go and levled 1 up till 24, only for the looks... when i realized ALL of us would be "clones" with very little variety, and frustrating gameplay when there was no healing i just lost interest... When i was waiting for the knight to be released however, i rolled an engineer just for the gunpower thing, and i just love it in PVP... Can really be a pain in the @$$ for casters, and i do get to kill stuff so... He doesnt look that bad also, could use some work in its equipment tough, but i can live with it...

Now i have a 36 engi, going 40, and has become my main, i really enjoy playing with him, and in the end, that's what makes me, and everyone log to play, not cool armor...

Yep, it will all pass. A handful of people on each server will be playing Slayer. Then the rest who said they will make it their main. Wont be able to deal with the bugs/gameplay whatever they can pick apart about the class. But, I'm a Warhammer lore nerd. And, along with White Lion...Slayer is right up there with it. And, just as I did with White Lion, it wasnt as I expected and deleted him at 40. So, here I wait for Slayer. And we shall see how it goes, I always have my Witch Hunter as well. ;)

The thing is this, and most of the people posting here have touched on it already.

There going to be every where, and i dont think am going to do the live event at all. If it holds true in regards to kotbs and bg then T1/2/3 are going to be full of them and no healers. Thats means destro is going to roll us as always because when it comes to healing for some reason they always seem to have more than we do most sc.

We all know dps without healing is just a GY trip waiting to happen but we also know that the fly by night fan boys will reroll and right around T2/3 they will drop there slayer or choppa. Why you ask.. because am sure most people in this game have lvl at least 2/3 toons up to T2/3 and stopped because redoing that grind / ORvR pain in the butt isnt fun. I've said it before 3 zones is a bit to much in this game. Am sure slayers are going to be fun to play but its going to be the same thing like kotbs and bg.. mine is still sitting at lvl 18.

Am sure the event will be fun but trying to lvl in sc and ORvR with 2,000 other slayers at the same time aint going to be cool.

Count me in! I've been looking for a class in WAR to fill that empty warrior hole in my heart from WOW, and they have thus far failed me. So I was excited to see a MDPS that could effectively wield a 2h, and will re-roll my WE for a kick-, brawlin', Gotrek-imitator, beer drinkin', scantly clad, omen swearing, dragon/daemon/giant slayin', Slayer!:D

I'll be renewing my sub. I've said since I heard about this game that the only thing that would get me to go Order was the mighty Slayer. And now it's almost here. :D
Not sure what server yet. But definitely will be my main.
At least until they make the Skaven Assassin playable. ;)

I have friends coming over from WOW just because of the slayer. I've been playing destro but a couple of us will start a few orders together forming a band. Not just slayers but other classes too! woot!

If Slayers had been in from the start I would have had a hard problem choosing between them and the Witch Hunter. So hard I wouldn't be able to tell you what I would have picked. I love the Warhammer Dwarfs and I love Melee DPS but the Stealth of the Witch Hunter is a real deal sweetener.

But now I have a Witch Hunter at R40 and closing in on RR46. Have relatively good gear all around and am relatively close to the elite tier 4 rewards in ORvR. Whilst I'd love to have a Slayer at R40 RR40+ with access to the same gear options I just feel its going to be too much of a hassle to get him all the way up there.

However having said all that I'm still going to roll one. How could I not? However I don't think it'll ever come close to my main character in terms of renown rank and gear. I just don't have the time for it.

It might not be my main, but i am gonna make an alt.
I've been waiting for this since i played The Enemy Within campaign in WFRP in the late 80's
My GM wouldn't let me roll a Slayer, because he (rightly so) was afraid i would steamroll everything in a frenzy...

I'm sorry but i rather pass on the Slayer. Imo, the choppa & Slayer arent such a big class to me and i was expected them to introduce something else but that likely won't happen now since when the two new classes come, Warhammer will be done...Unless they suddenly make the following playable :D: Skaven, Bull Ogre, Dryads, Daemonettes and anything else you guys would like to see playable. Other then that, i know the 2 classes will do fine, (I have a slight feeling they'll make the Slayer op, but we'll have to see) and fyi, its not about the looks lol because you can come in a full set of epic armor dyed really well and whatever, i'm still gonna look at you as "A Slayer" or whatever you are.

I would love to see Skaven be introduced. More playable races the better as far as I am concerned. As far as a new Order army, I have no clue. I played the TT briefly and only played Dwarfs.

There was a beta-era poll back in the days and skaven were on the top of the list as "the next race" for Destruction. There are plenty of Skaven NPCs as well built into the lore/camps in T4 as well. So in a year and a half, I would expect them being added (if new mechanics could be introduced)...

But that's off topic...

The reason I'm going Order is two-fold, one the slayer class. Two, I found out some of my RL friends made alts and are loving their new guild on the Order side. While Orc Choppas are cool, Slayers bring back the days of my roleplaying/wargame experiences.

Also, maybe Lizardmen for Order? They're not really an aligned race, but they at least used to be allied with Elves, so they'd be Order probably.

Also Brettonian, but I don't see how they could be much different from Empire without mounts.

Slayers wear very little, and look rather boring as well, but they will have a huge playerbase.

Personally, this arguement is bunk, I came from Destruction to Order a LONG time ago, and to be honest, I really don't like the look of most of Destro, the only class that really got any work on its armor was the Black Orc, everything else just looks like they scrapped together something to cover their nuts.

Order is not boring at all however, each class has its own look and feel, even the WL has its own kind of personal feel to it, and while I agree its armor should be mixed up, its not as bad as people say.

The only "bland" Order class is tbh the AM.
