Hey,

Been watching few vids now, but I wonder what 'type' of magic we use, the Bright Wizard clearly uses Fire magic, but on the vids the colours were like, purple and green. Was thinking of the shadowy school of magic? Might have knew this if I was the lore guy, but I aint, sorry haha. I've heard the spells will rely more on DoT and a few casting 'bolts and balls' if you get what I mean. Do we have any kind of source for information that tells about AoE and instant casts ( Or a combination of the two )
Also, I would like to hear you opinions about what we, magus's, could use as some sort of tactic. Will we the caster in front, blasting everything out of the way. Or more the sneaky , behind the big tank&spank players, dotting here and there. I'd personally would go for the behind the lines way, the in front tactic seems more a glass cannon way, and that roll is more the Bright Wizard's, if im right..

Chaos sorcerers manipulate the raw winds of chaos. You can't place them within a school of magic. That is for the lesser wizards of the humans and elves to do.

Sorcerers of Tzeentch mainly use different tzeentchian fires for spells. They all ahve varying effects, depending on their color.

Also, when I played at GC, there was an instant dot that also debuffed the opponent's stats a little and an AOE spell that hit the target and every enemy in a certain area around the target. If this list (http://warhammerinfo.com/c-magus.shtml) is still correct, it will ahve been "Devastating Indigo Fire".

Also, the Magus will most likely be a caster with a lot of utility spells from what I've seen so far. That means we cana dapt to many a situation in battle and you always have to know where your abilites are best used right at that moment. We are very versatile, but that also means that We'll have a lot more to think about when to use what than the simple glasscannon mage from other games.

Thanks, pretty useful link. Can't wait till game comes online and the talent, tactic etc. discussions can begin. :p

Most of the spell lists have been different colored fires.

Again,

The skill, tactics and ability lists everyone links to are just plain inaccurate. They contain information from alpha, early beta and just plain misinformation. I would suggest waiting till the NDA drops to see the real skills and abilities.

True, true. But a lot of action vids confirm that kinda spells. I don't expect them to just add different/fake spells for teasers. And even if it is inaccurate, it gives you a slight idea of what to expect from the class.

I think there are eight distinct winds of magic, probably the colors of the fire tell you which wind or combination thereof goes into each spell. You could try matching them to the bright wizard colleges if you really want to assign a type.

Humans can only learn one wind, chaos get around that by getting help from tzeentch, elves can use all eight in any combination they want, dark elves try to shove all eight into the same spell, who knows what's up with dwarves, and greenskins are really, really angry and invoke the power of football. There, all the magic in Warhammer explained in one sentence for you. Or, rather for the guy whose post you were responding to.

Tzeentch magic is its own "wind" or Lore. In the TT version it was

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet...or the 7 colours of the rainbow (light spectrum)

Red is a DD spell, Orange a re-roll mechanism, Yellow is a shield, Green is a mind control (unit attacks itself), Blue is a BIGGER DD spell, Indigo is a burn dot that raises Tzeentch Horrors from the dead, Violet opened a rift to the realm of chaos and sucked a hero in.

as far as implementing these Red is a DD spell,
Blue is a bigger damage longer cast/more AP DD spell
Yellow a shield buff
Orange a increased crit or damage buff?
Green a mind control spell...mez?
Indigo a dot and/or small duration summon
violet a big damage dot or "Doom" type spell im not sure.

All speculation of course but that is how i would do it.

I wish someone would throw a bone to those of us not in the beta. If Mythic provided a bit more info about updated skills, I doubt it would break the game.

Due to time contraints on our play time, some of us like to have a good idea about which class we want to play before release. I, for one, am still trying to get a feel for the Squig Herder and the Magus.
