Do you sometimes wish your guild could create its own theme songs from a UI mixing interface ?
Even if there were concern for appropriateness or relevancy to the overall game, there could be preset song and music choices to make for in-game guild songs.
Even racial choice could limit the music style choice of the user.
Crazy idea but it's good to use imagination and ideas.

I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. When would the music play? Would someone else than the person who possesses the track hear it or would it be automatically sent to nearby players? Why not make the music with an actual music program rather than a MMORPG?

If I understand you right you want to implement a program to create music into WAR.
That would be the biggest wast of time on the devs side ever :p (Imho)
Maybe they could make a option for uploading custom music to the game, that would also suck though since people would upload all kinds of crap.

I have to agree with Qvark and Frein here, people would upload all sorts of garbage and ruin the game experience. Maybe if you could be more specific?

Not what you mean: But I actually have never seen an addon wich makes you able to listen your music, and choose songs, set up playlists INGAME ( I don't mean the music from the game, but your music, the one you have in iTunes for example ;) ) . Such an addon would be heaven imho.
A built in media player or a media player overlay seems easy enough, sharing it with your guild is probably going to have a lot of messy legal implications as far as copyright is concerned.

Look up Soundtrack for WoW. It does exactly that.
Even lets you set music to play by area and sub-area.

Much the same, i turn off music, and often the entire game sounds so i have voicecoms and/or my own MP3s playing
Personally i think its about time that dev teams just create a basic interface for players to load their own mp3's through the game sound system. MMO gamers spend half their life (or more) ingame, be nice to have that ability built in as standard.

I don't get why.
What's the problem in having another application running the music in the background?
You could even get a music players you can control without alt-tapping.
Would be a waste of time that most people won't even use I think.

I think for people with slower PC's, to have to alt+tab out of the window to access their external music player program might crash the game altogether.
Personally, Headphones + Ipod = Win.

Some of us thoroughly enjoy our 7.1 surround sound. If alt-tabbing is an issue for you, play lists+shuffle are your friend. Also this website is totally sweet if you have the bandwidth to use it whilst playing: http://musicovery.com/index.php?ct=us
I always use it when forum browsing, or generally mucking about.

A mod eats up a fraction of the system resources that running [insert media player program] would.

WAR: Warhammer Ableton Remixer. Duh its in the title, ofcourse it's going to be in the game.
UI mods can let you do everything, I have WoW turn on my usb toaster every time I cast Deathcoil.

I want a music system like LOTRO's ABC Music. I never played that MMO but I've read and seen a lot about it. Looks awesome.
