Note that violating these rules can result in your suspension or permanent removal from these forums and serious or repeated infractions can result in the termination of your game account

I seen that in the forum rules, seems kind of harsh.:o

If this is the case I highly disagree with it, Blizzard, Sony, Funcom, and others keep forums seperate from in game Mythic should too. Just my opinion on this tid bit but nothing I say on these forums should affect my In game account, suspension and Banned from the forums is understandable. Actually, Sony used to (don't know if it does) occassionally ban people from EQ when they were way out-of-line on their boards. And while I don't know about Funcom, I wouldn't go on Blizzard's forums and say that I was going to visit a Blizzard dev by name and threaten to rearrange his face just as he rearranged a character class. Losing my game account might tbe the least of my worries.

For example, things like threatening a Mythic employee with bodily harm will not get you on our holiday mailing list and would result in a banning from the game as well.
The only kinda bodily harm I want to inflict on you involves hot oil, some rope, candles, a blindfold, a Santa Hat, and a Twister mat.
:o
Ouch. If I tried to play Twister nowadays, the result wold be more like Rice Krispies. Snap, crack and pop!

Yeah that was old School Sony, never saw it happen personally, but I've heard of it happening but I do believe that policy has changed. But yeah I can understand threatening you know a Devs life (and perhaps the rules should state extreme cases.). But honestly I don't think you'll likely have that problem (although god knows when i was a GM for Blizz I got a few death threats from players, I just generally laughed them off, but GMs are anon, while Devs are not.
Anyways I'm just here to try to help give suggestions to make the community Fan and Dev friendly. While I do understand the rule, perhaps rewording it to be more clear would be cool. Just my imput.
No worries at all. I hope we don't end up banning anyone from the forums let alone from the game but we're prepared to do both as necessary.
As far as the death threats go, sorry to hear that. Never any fun and over all the years I've been making online games I gotten more than my fair share as have other devs at Mythic as well as other game developers. I don't react well when people threaten people in my studio even if over a message board. That stuff is just totally unacceptable in my book and I really don't want that player's business in our game.
We are really going to try to run and moderate these forums so that the vast majority of people can have some fun here, get useful information from other players and as well as interact with some of the devs. The price for that is frankly, a more civil and polite exchange between and within groups and if we can pull it off, the results will be well worth the effort.
