Any Diablo 2 players remember the firewall spell?

Here is an image of it: http://www.battle.net/images/battle/diablo2exp/images/skills/firewall01.jpg

I do not know much about Bright Wizards, Warhammer lore, or potential BW spells. My question is, does anyone think there is a small chance the BW could have a similar spell?

I remember the firewall spell and how awesome it was.

I wouldnt be surprised if BW got a spell like this. I know they have a spell that they breath fire so erecting a wall of fire isnt so far fetched.

I myself would enjoy having something ingame, reminiscent of Diablo, if not the firewall spell in particular. I do miss that it, and find myself without a copy to reinstall. The third one ever going to be made? It was one of the baby steps I took towards the mmo genre.

Unless Blizzard suddenly stop liking money, there will be another Diablo.

straight from the TT game.

WALL OF FIRE
Remains in play
Cast on 12+
This spell has a range of 24". Each model
(including characters) in the unit’s front
rank suffers one automatic Strength 4 hit.
As long as the spell is in play, if the target
unit moves for any reason, every model in
the unit suffers a further Strength 4 hit, and
then the spell is automatically dispelled.
If cast on units with a 360º line of sight, such
as skirmishers, the Wall of Fire does not
form and the spell has the same effect as a
Fireball.

so ya, I'd say its very likely.

Agreed, very likely, but also probably quite costly. A spell like that could greatly change your opponents' tactics.

A Blaze spell would be awesome when you're being chased. A trail of fire in your wake.

Only thing I'd consider dropping WAR for...Diablo 3. We'll see... :)

As long as D3 wouldn't be a subscription MMO, I'd get both. It'd be interesting to see where the storyline would go though, seeing as all the major gods were destroyed, and no one was an idiot and stuck a gem in their face again. I'm afraid it would just be "Hah, you thought the other guy destroyed us, but we're back, and now we have even cooler minions! DIE!" But hey, I could deal with that as long as it had all the awesome Diablo-esque stuff and cool character classes. Or maybe there is a greater father-god of the other ones, that would be okay...

Anyways, back on topic, flame wall... I don't really have anything to add, but I'll just agree with others that it wouldn't be very surprising to see.

There was a fire wall spell in WAR already. Check war resources goes out directly from your chararcter. Weter they keep it in or not is their decsion but at least we know they already thought of something like that. They are way ahead of us.

I know in the TT game they have a spell called "Conflagration of Doom" which allows the wizard to set an entire unit on fire. Pretty sweet... VERY powerful, I would expect to see it in WAR.

Can you give a source for this or a description? Im interested in how it works.

Basically the unit takes a number of wounds (1d6 I think, not gonna check it :P), and then both players roll a d6 each (to represent magic resistance or something), and if the affected unit/player doesn't outroll the casting players roll, the unit takes another d6 wounds. Then you roll again, and again, as long as the affected player doesn't roll higher the unit keeps burning.

At least I think it can go on indefinitely.

Other spells that were in the TT that we probably won't see: A flight spell (conjure up wings of fire and fly off), and a spell for conjuring a flaming sword (that you would swing like a regular sword, only it'd be better of course).
Haven't checked the BW in WAR out much, but if we could get the burning head spell, that'd certainly be cool. (a burning shrieking head flies off like a cannonball towards your opponent. ;) )

While you have it active, the ground is on fire where you walk, leaving a trail of fire where you go.

Sourced from www.warhammerinfo.com (http://www.warhammerinfo.com)

Wall of Fire: 40% morale. A 65-foot wall of fire spreads out from your feet and damages any enemies that touch it for 10 seconds.

(Take this with a grain of salt)

Im pretty positive I saw someone say that was a BW spell.
In a podcast or something.

Yep found it, its the career mastery video done by Adam Gershowitz.
Of course it could still not be in the game but...there ya go. xD
