I hope they get a cool dark lightning type spell that comes out their fingers I would love that. What do you guys want? Spells, animations, anything that comes to mind.

Well I hope their Dark Magic Animation is really well made. They said that Sorcerrers force the magic instead of working together with it. I really hope they make that visible. Like a little more "brute" emotions then the rest of the casters when they cast a spell

Do they get some kind of spell to summon an undead from the bodies of fallen allies/enemies? I would love that to happen, a bit like the necromancer from guild wars. Also i want lightning from fingertips xD, and for the DHAR spells, id like it to be somekind of pure darkness, hate and coldness all molded into one ball of coolness.
TBH i don't really know what lores they can use?

I thought of another spell. Lol I'd like a Dark Cloud spell which makes you unclickable for a certain duration. Also it stays in one spot and you cant target anyone behind it you must go through it if you want to attack someone. Maybe a bit overpowered maybe not could be tweaked but i like the idea.

id also like to see a spell that can convert mana/ap/or whatever into health. that way if i manage to nuke myself, i can heal for an amount, but then have to wait for my mana/ap/whatever to regen befor dps'ing again.

I think moral would better better than Ap since it regens so fast and you would be able to heal yourself very quickly morale takes a bit to build up.

if it was a moral ability, i would want it to be more of a HoT than a straight up heal.

Fair enough. But if it was AP it would have to have a deacent cooldown time due to the risk of it being OPed.

I also want a spell that causes a semi earthquake due to a dark magic bolt. Lol i know that wont be in it but let me dream. :-P

This is what I want to see from a sorcerer if backlash from a cast spell actually kills them (not they backlash and then some swordmaster pokes them) then there is an animation where their head explodes all over the place.

I'd like to see some awesome spell animation too, would be relay cool if they wielded darkness whit their hands in the same way that the bright wizards wield fire. :D
Or if they always had a natural twilight around themselves, or something else thats dark and evil.

Idd, A HUGE amount of casting/spells animations would be nice.. I don't like doing the same move over and over again, with every spell..

What I hope out of a Sorcerer Is to be a challenge!

To go into PvP and do so much damage and learn when to control myself so i dont blow up =D

My general hopes for the Dark Elf Sorceress are quite simple, and similar to relative hopes for other classes as well. I'd like to see the sorceress competative with other pure damage classes in terms of damage output. The nature of their apparent role in the game should put them right up there among the best damage dealers in the game.

What I don't want to see is the reprecussions from powerful spells being too severe. Everyone who's ever PvPed in an MMO knows how precious hit points are, and i don't want to constantly be thinking to myself, "I know I can light this guy up, but if I make one mistake I'm going to kill myself if he does any damage to me." I want players to have to beat me because they're better players... not because my class mechanics are doing half the work for them. I think playing a sorceress is going to be a hell of a challenge, and I like that... but Mythic could be walking a dangerous line with the current mechanics they've stated will be used.

I'll make a fantasy/theoretical situation, an example of what I'm afraid could come into play:

-Sorceress encounters Bright Wizard. (unknowingly to the Bright Wizard)

-Sorceress casts highest damage spell. Reduces Bright Wizards's HP to 60%.

-Sorceress casts silence on Bright Wizard, interrupts Bright Wizard's spell casting.

-Sorceress casts damage spell, reduces Bright Wizard's HP to 35%. Dark Magic slightly recoils, reduces Sorceress' HP to 90%.

-Sorceress casts Dark Shield.

-Bright Wizard casts damage spell, partly absorbed by Sorceress' Dark Shield. Sorceress' HP reduced to 80%.

-Sorceress casts damage spell, reduces Bright Wizard's HP to 9%. Dark Magic critically recoils, reduces Sorceress' HP to 38%.

-Bright Wizard stuns Sorceress.

-Bright Wizard casts highest damage spell. Sorceress' HP reduced to 0%, Sorceress dies.

Now obviously those numbers are completely ficticious... but it shows an example how someone was getting absolutely owned (in my example the Bright Wizard), but still comes out on top because of a game mechanic... not relavent to the Wizard's skill. The wizard was getting slaughtered, yet still found himself in position for an easy kill. If a similar situation to that example happens to me, I'll be one frustrated and unhappy player.

if the sorc gameplay mechanic worked anything like what you just described, that alone would be enough to push back into the clutches of the other mmo.

I believe Paul mentioned the Chaos Magus had a spell that did something like that. The exact quote was something like...
"He does this -- he goes like this bbadadadadadadd, with lightning lightning lightning and kills you and then your body splits open and then a Horror comes out and then starts killing people."

There, the lightning dude gets what he wanted too.

Hmm ... For a sorc?

A truly devastating spell, the ground needs to be blackened and start to crack, red light needs to pour forth from her eyes as she lifts her finger towards the enemy they would balk at the display of power, turning in fear to escape the chaos about to be unleashed. A loud reverberating hum can be heard as a massive bolt of energy is released scorching everything in its path, sending a shock wave through the ranks of friend and foe alike.

Then backlash would kick in an she would explode like a daisy cutter leveling anything in a ten mile radius.

Oh and hide helm option please =)

I want to see really cool spell animations and effects. Like when you're gathering Dhar around you, it appears as a swirling black wind that circles around you from the waist down, causing the lower sections of your robe to float and flap a little bit.

Also when you cast a bolt spell, it flies from your hand rapidly, when it strikes your opponent it visually gives you a real sense of impact, like "ooomph, ... wow". In WoW the fireball and frostbolt spells moved a little too slow, was pretty lame. I'd like to see something that moves like the laser gun fire in star wars, maybe a titch slower so you can appreciate it.

Also in WoW the fireball bolt itself looked like a childs impression of fire. Sorceress bolt should be a seething mass of raw energy, a crackling sharp red or white, something that looks like if you poked it your finger would simply evaporate.

And finally, if the spell effects could make good use of the lighting engine, that would be awesome. Like if your backing up your buddy the tank, and you fire a bolt past his shoulder, as it passes by him light generated off the bolt is reflected off his armor briefly.
When you gather Dhar around you, if it was like a swirling dark black/purple, it could cast a faint purple gleam onto the surrounding environment and characters. In WoW there was some mage(?) armor that had swirling balls of energy in the shoulderpads that generated their own light, looked sweet at night time when it would reflect of a tanks armor etc.

when a sorceress is overcome by the dark magics, and dies in semi-grotesque ways from them, a portal to the realm of chaos is opened and a daemon pops out.

that's all i've ever wanted really..

A black warp beam or something, and also yeah the lightning idea is sick. Also maybe there can be an ability with a really long cool down or something, where for like, I dunno lets say 30 seconds to a minute randomly your death meter doesn't go up as you nuke. It could be called I don't know, like Shadowy Core or Dark Acceptance. Maybe you could even get a debuff afterwards.

I'm hoping the sorceress gets soul stealer spell to buff health to counter the self harm, and infact rumors for the next dark elves book in table top, sorceress's have self harm rule btw. It pretty much makes sense, but then there could be the posiblity that the sorceress has party health buffing spell, but thats pure speculation on my part going off what spells they get in the actual table top game.
