Yeah saw that, unfortunately imo the sorceress model doesn't look nearly as good as the marauder or chosen atm, but hey, still in development and all that. We know for a fact character animation are still being improved (reference latest grab bag), hopefully that extends to some character models as well.

Mainly didn't like the "cuts" on the side of the torso (the glimpse is of a top tier sorceress). I'm not referring to the fact that the idea is lame, I know everyone's opposed to the concept, but that they appeared as a rather crudely painted on effect, more detail needed in the torso texture panel.

I'm not opposed to the concept. I think it works very well giving the Sorceress a nasty, twisted edge, giving her something sadistic and grotesque to counteract her delicate Elven beauty. She wields some of the blackest, sickest most nightmarish magic in existence and it should reflect on her somehow, otherwise people are just gonna wonder how Evil Barbie managed to get caught up in the Occult.

In the artwork (http://uk.games-workshop.com/download/popup.htm?/darkelves/artwork/images/big-6.jpg), this was mostly done through tattoos and near-nudity. Seeing as these qualities are better-suited to the Witch Elves for their savage, brutal imagery, they decided to give the Sorceress a twisted, S&M feel instead to match her association with Chaos, which I think is great. It shows her dedication to her art. She might be using her own blood and pain to lure in malevolent spirits so she can trap them and use their power.

But, yes, I agree with you. At the moment, the cuts just look like painted stripes on either side of her torso. They need to be textualised a lot more.

On a brighter note, it's good to see that they've toned down the giant head-dress slightly, making it slightly smaller but still just as impressive.

I think the thing that bothers me most about that in-game Sorceress is her colour scheme. She looks like she's wearing a lot of brown and blue - two colours I would never associate with the Dark Elves. Well, maybe Midnight Blue, but not in combination with all that brown. Makes her look common. :(

I really don't see how well you could tell that considering the speed of the video and the fact her headdress is covering most of her head.

I can tell why she's ugly: The whole figure is awkwardly angular: It's obvious the model is still under work and in need of polish. Furthermore, the entire outfit looks very clunky, and it is severely lacking in detail comparable to other armies' toons.

This is no surprise, of course. The elves are the last ones to be worked on, so naturally we will need to wait to see the finished product.

To be honest I found all characters to look a bit ugly in that video, not at all limited to the elves. In comparison to other videos released (filmed with handheld's) it actually looks worse in my opinion. But I don't really care.

I think the enormous spikes on her head and the whole horn/spike theme suits Dark-Elves fairly nicely. But yes, I would avoid the brown, it does make it a bit common'ish. But hey, at least Mythic is staying away from clown costumes such as the gear in _____ of ________ and making the game darker, as any MMO which is based in this era should be :P

She's pouting rather a lot, isn't she? Can't see how you can think she's particularly evil in the face though. I think she looks generically pretty, which is all a Sorceress should hope for anyway. Unlike the Witch Elves, there is such a thing as an ugly Sorceress. They should be cold, gaunt and malicious looking. Some should look crone or hag-like by Elven standards.

Honestly the video didn't wow me too well also. First of all, the music was horrid. It was attempting to be a slow death march like song and just came out really flat. Any case, enough nit picking. The models looked okay but in general it wasn't a big video to be excited about. Didn't show much except some mock fighting that won't ever reflect what the game will really look like when it goes live.

Might have been nice as a background video during some Q&A session with the developers but if you pay close attention to it, I think it just looks sort of stale.
