Anyways, I've been reading a lot how people use some lore to claim that bright wizards aren't that powerful as compared to others. My question to you guys is, how does that make you feel, lol? On a more serious note, where can I read up on your class. I've read gobs on my class, KotBS, and WH, but I'm looking for some background to you bright orangey-fiery-explodey-type people.

The first sticky in our forum actually has a good bit of lore, if that doesn't sate you're hunger for lore, try the source books.;)

As far as other casters being "more powerful" than my beloved Bright Wizard, whatever the lore says is one thing, but take a look at a lot of the TT miniatures and there stats and spells, many of these so called more powerful casters cast the exact same offensive spells with the exact same modifiers... beside that, my head is on freakin' fire, who cares if you live for centuries?;)

I've seen those crazy ranged AoE movies already, and might I say...quite sick! I'll be sure to stick one of you on top of a tower to rain down molten death. :D

I wished they made a lightning mage to but dont know much about warhammer to know if there is one, but fire for me is the next best thing :P. Because it burns, it explods, it smoking hot, makes smoke... many uses to it :).

But Like your lightning mage I will admit that I find the ideas of frost/water mages to be uber, but games like wow game frost mages a crappy feel.

How so? I rather liked the frost mages of WoW... setting up shatter combos was fun.

I think water/ice would have more flexability of spells and more of a variety and cooler animations than fire probably cuz i prefer water more but fire is the next best thing imho. (im semi pyromaniac)

Also i was watching new marauder vids and they tore UP squishes im semi afraid

In the empire there isn't a school of 'frost' magic (although there is in the neighbouring country of kislev) or 'lightning' magic

To give an explanation, there are 8 colleges of magic, each dedicated to studying one of the eight winds of chaos which all magic users "tap into" to use magic (apart from greenskins but thats another story...). The 8 types of magic, and thus the 8 types of wizards found within the empire are as follows:
-Lore of Fire
-Lore of Beasts
-Lore of Nature
-Lore of Shadows
-Lore of Heavens (I seem to recall that there is a lightning spell here, but also a cool one where you call an asteroid down)
-Lore of Metal
-Lore of Death
-Lore of Light

IMO I would have liked to have seen a way of choosing a lore, even if there was just three to pick from, but I do reckon that fire is one of the coolest (also metal ftw - balthazar gelt rocks!) So for those guys suggesting other wizard types, here is your definitive list. Worship me as you will 8)
