Will they be able to?
I'm somewhat of an RPer, and it'd just be awkward to have it on even while trying to relish in beer...

It would be pretty lame if they couldn't.

I'm sure there will be a 'Hide Helm/Cloak' option, it's pretty standard in MMOs nowadays.

However, haven't the devs commented that they are leaning against this as it conflicts with their 'PROFILE RECOGNITION' system (where you can tell the Tier by looking at the toon)?
I cannot find the link, so perhaps I must have misread it.

You could tell a hammerer and a Ironbreaker apart or a Choppa and Black Orc apart with out there helms. Those are the classes that look most alike (atleast to me.)

I thought it was also about telling the difference between the same class, but different levels.
Again, I cannot find the link, so I may have misread it.
And on another note, they did just comment that WAR is not chasing the 'Well other MMOS has X, we must have X' - not that applies to hiding Helms.

nah your right some of the devs did say that but yet other say they do want the option so i dont think its decided yet.. altho im leaning towards not allowing it. there is no need if you design decent looking gear ( tier 2 placeholer anyone?)

I don't see how that would affect your ability to recognize anyone. I would think that, you know, the rest of their body would also give it away ;)

Well there could be an important helmet change, that is recognizable at the range.
It could also be linked to the notion that they do not what to have anything 'hidden' -- even if it seems obvious that people will wear the best gear.
Just speculating, rather than debating the point.

It dose not matter, you can tell a iron breaker by its shield. No other dwaft class can use them.

Not all Ironbreakers will use just a shield.

The fact that Ironbreakers can use Axes as well as Hammers is a distinction easily made as well. Being hammerers are limited to exactly that... Hammers... Obviously from a distance if you see two armored Dwarfs running at you with great hammers, it may not be obvious at first. But once they gap is closed I would imagine it to be faily easy to distiguish one from another.

Just to clarify, Profile Recognition is not exclusive to Class identification.

you cant hide items. they mentionned it alot in videos, they say it would brake the ''badassery'' effect, they want people to be intimidated with other peoples gear when they see them on the battlefield...

The Chosen page on the official site shows one with his helmet off.
