i've been browsing around waiting for all my funds to slowly drift in, and now I've finally got my target budget available.

Now I've got an idea of where to go, but before I make a final decision, just wanted to see what others would recommend. I'm looking for responses regarding customer service, building/shipping times, overall costs, quality, etc...

Granted i'm on a budget of about 700 dollars, so places like Falcon NW or ABS are out of the picture, but which sites would you recommend using?

iBUYPOWER
AeonCraft
Cyberpower
ZT systesm

any others I havn't read about?

ps. only need the actual computer, no monitor/keyboard/speakers/mouse

Build it yourself, for 700 you can get a good self-built machine. Trying to buy a retail machine for 700 and you're getting a $500 machine and $200 worth of 'service'.

Honestly it isn't that hard to build a machine. Aside from making sure the processor is put in correctly (there is a giant red arrow that you match to another giant red arrow on the motherboard).... all of the other plugs and whatnot really only fit in once place.

i've been looking at Cyberpowerpc.com a friend of mine bought from them and had no problems. I built a PC there a while ago just experimenting and got a tower for about 1,200 that had more power than I would most likely ever use. You could probably go there and see what you could get for $700. Building a PC would probably be cheaper, but im lazy this time (built my last one) so im just gonna buy one since I got the money :P

I would never buy a prebuilt machine. You can pretty much build yourself a nice machine with $700.

If you do decide to build a machine, you can use newegg.com.

I just spent $1500.00+ on my new gaming rig.

I would never buy a prebuilt machine.Same. Its so much cheaper and you actually know whats going into your machine. Then its that much easier to upgrade later.

Modern processors should be keyed. Both my AMD64 and Q6600 were. If that fails watch out for the GOLDEN TRIANGLE. Really everything is keyed including the power cables. Just about the only things you could mess up are the risers connecting the mobo to the case
