Has anyone ever used this mouse (http://www.visiontek.com/products/gaming/xg6.html)?

And can anyone tell me more about it?

I've never even heard of this mouse but it's very interesting. It seems like controlling all those functions on just the mouse would be very tedious and hard to perfect.

nope but if yu want a good mouse look no further then razor mice. They do top quality precision gaming mice. They have very long cables so you never need to worry about the mice cable. They are also so light that you dont feel them, even without a mouse mat as i have mine on wood desk. They are very sensitive, although can be turned down and their lasers are pin point accurate. Ive got the death adder, hands down the best mouse i ever had.

Razor have one of the best reputations for mice. They dont break easy. I know many many many people with razor mice and they all work fine for them and ahve had them for years now. of corse every mouse will occasionally break and most do after 2-3 years. Logitech break oftern i beleive. Razor mice are so good that even if mine broke after 6 months id still buy a new one.

If you can find it cheap, the Logitech MX Revolution is a really good mouse. It's a great general purpose mouse. I use it to control my media player while in game so I don't need to alt tab out every time I want to change songs. It's really expensive though, I got lucky and found mine on eBay for $35. It might not be the best for gaming because it's a little on the heavy side, but it's very responsive and it comes with its own recharging station so you don't have to fuss with batteries.

I have no idea what your talkign about mo0rbid, razer mice are veyr reliable. Go to forums like www.hardforum.com (http://www.hardforum.com) and ask around in the PC game section and there is alot of people that use and support razer mice without complaint. I find Logitech mice to be the most prone to breaking.

My razerdiamond back is a first release and still going 110%

Looks like it's freeing up movement keys off the keyboard by using different axis.

One may get used to it but i prefer to keep a good balance between the activity of my both hands :p

while it does seem like a good mouse, i agree with others, the razer is a great gaming mouse.

though the mouse the op linked looks like something for a CADD worker. i should show this to my drafting teacher.

Cant go wrong with either Logitech or Razer... i honestly prefer the Logitech G5, it just feels great and is extremely responsive/accurate (2000dpi). The new ones have 2 thumb buttons!!! The G9 is also great, but I really cant justify replacing my pefectly good mouse, you should give it a try though, you might like it...

I've used the same mx518 since I got it 2 years ago. Until it breaks I don't have a good reason to get a new mouse.

I dont see the point in such high DPI. Mines 1000DPi but im pritty confident i wont notice the difference at 800 and im certain i wont notice any difference at 2000.

mostly what I noticed (I'm playng with 2k dpi) on my copperhead is that it moves alot further and more precise than when I have it on 1k dpi, very noticable, but what I do is, turn up the dpi and turn down overall sensitivity ingame, works like a charm, although I play with different X and Y axis sens :p because in DoD the pwnish recoil system ^^

Just a thought, has any1 tried the Microsoft Side Winder? Looks awesome to me, I used to use Microsoft mice before Razer made their mice, might go back just to try it.

Fortunately, once I tried a Logitech, I never went back to a M$ mouse.

How does that mouse perfom in games?

I thought it had bad reviews for lagging out? Has that been your experience?

I liked the feel, and
the thumb wheel looks like it would be good to map 'forward/backward' movement (ie to replace W and S or Up and Down Arrow keys). Does that seem like it would work?

Has anyone found a mouse that has a thumb toggle that could be used to replace the 'forward' and 'Back' arrows?

i honestly prefer the Logitech G5, it just feels great and is extremely responsive/accurate (2000dpi).
If you want even more responsive and accurate you should go with Razer Lachesis (4000DPI) ;) But I'm pretty sure 2000 makes a great difference if you're on 800 atm.
Myself I'm probably going to get a Lachesis, everyone of my friends who has got one are really happy with it and I have tried using it and I felt the same way. (since the feel of the mouse is everyones personal opinion I like to try out the mices I'm thinking of buying).
Best advice when getting a new mice is to try it out and see how it feels, a 150$ mouse can feel really good for some and feel for others.

With regards to WAR, I am not sure the differences will translate into the combat program -- ie if the combat program is not built around 'fastest imput'.

An extreme analogy would be making the same argument for a Turn-based RTS -- an exteme example where speed is not important. Yes, some speed will be important, but I don't think milisecond differences will affect the game.

Youll be fine! For example I can set the sensitivity low and the DPI which will translate to smoother more accurate mouvements, that being moreso due to the devices faster input though. High DPI was really put into play for people using large screen resolutions and needed a FAST cursor that was precise and accurate. This while using minimal wrist mouvement. Thats, the simplest way I can put it:) The mouse will work fine with War.

So I've been giddy all day because I've know my mouse and keyboard from Newegg where arriving today, I got the Razer Diamondback 3G. The first thing I did as soon as I took it out of the package was place it on the mouse pad and just let my hand rest on it, that was a great experience in itself because I didn't get that awkward "have to get use to new mouse" feel to it. Simple put it was akin to sitting in that chair that fits your body just right.

After finally plugging it in I was surprised by the lack of motion required to move the pointer, in fact I lost the pointer a few times. All in all I have to ask myself why I didn't get one sooner.

I did have two things I didn't particular like. One being the manual pages where stuck together, nothing bad just annoying having to peel pages off of each other. The second was that the CD that was packaged with it didn't work, but I just went to Razer's site and downloaded the driver there so once again it was really that big of a deal.

Saw it again in a store today.

How well does the side to side switch work on the mouse wheel. It seems like you could really use that to give yourself '3' Mouse wheels (Left = Shift+MW, Right = Cntl+MW, Center = normal MW.).
