What I do not understand is why the KOTBS have an average popularity rating but everyone is crazy over the Chosen. After all these two classes really are mirrors of one another in that the KOTBS use "commands" to improve allied abilities and Chosen use "auras" to drop opponents abilities.

Because some people want to be the evil side, or like Chaos, or don't wanna be a knight/bitter they can't be their favorite knightly order, or like the aschetics of the Chosen more, ect ect.

Everyone has different points of view; mine, they are both lackluster in looks and gameplay.

Actually I am not a big fan of how Chaos looks and I dislike that all of Chaos is human. There really should be some Demon and Beastmen variety in them.
As for KOTBS I think the look is very solid and so for game-play I will wait until the release to judge that.

KoTBS will be more popular as more people who aren't Warhammer IP fans join the WAR community.
A lot of order will, same thing happened in WoW, the beta boards were filled with Horde players, but alliance easily took the cake when the game was released.

Both don't really appeal to me so much as other races, but the first look at the KotBS left me with the thought of 'wtf?'. Especially the mop on their helmets.
I do admit though, the Chosen looks much cooler, and I can see the style of chaos being much more appealing than the KoTBS. Just a more popular style.
I personally like da Orcs though. :p

Well a friend of mine mentioned that all he could think of when he looked at the KotBS, all he could think of was Don Quixote. Other than that I think the Chosen have gotten more publicity.

Don Quixote is dead on! The KOTBS do, after all, originally hail from Estalia which is Spain in the Warhammer world. Take one look at my name and you can see that I will play a KOTBS from Estalia that has come to fight in the Empire against Chaos.
Spain is cool and so is Don Quixote. Thus KOTBS are cool.

The reason the Knight are not as popular is because the Order of the Blazing Sun isn't really a popular order. I'm still baffled as to why they chose the KotBS over the other 13 Knightly Orders.

I know, if there is one tank I want to fight with its the kots. There very very cool. There like out of there mind tanking freaks with shields that are way to big but they use them anyway.

Ha, I thought the same thing when it came to KoTBS. I think they should get +2 dmg to windmills IMO.

It's cuz the Chosen embodies what many players seek..... Badassery, demonic, "evil" and so on. A KoTBS is just a man in armor, is anyone really surprised that the Chosen is much more popular?

The KotBS have to be the lamest looking of all the options in WAR. Thats just IMO though.

Ok yes "featherhead" looks lame but some of the other screens looks pretty damn good.

The reason the Knight are not as popular is because the Order of the Blazing Sun isn't really a popular order. I'm still baffled as to why they chose the KotBS over the other 13 Knightly Orders.
Are they unpopular? I hadn't heard. They're certainly one of the oldest and most respected knightly orders, with a lot of fluff behind them. They get a paragraph in the Empire army book, a career in the Warhammer RPG and they're one of only four orders that ever had their own miniatures.
When Mythic decided to make a class out of a single knightly order they only had three real options: the Reiksguard, the Knights Panther and the Blazing Suns (we can rule out Knights of the White Wolf on grounds of being too much like a Hammerer). I think they went with the KotBS because A: there's fluff to support KotBS travelling around on their own hiring out their services and B: they worship a different god than Sigmar and it's important to emphasise that the Empire isn't a monotheistic nation.
Basically I'm not convinced that it's the choice of knightly order that's putting most people off the class. More likely it's the helmet, which is an invention of Mythic's artists, though not overly extravagant by Imperial standards.
Mind you, I've always held it was a bad idea to base an entire class around a single knightly order, considering they all work the same way on the battlefield. A free lancer or a knight who could choose his order would give you all the same gameplay with more individual looks.

I absolutely love the concept art and most of the in game screenshots/footage of the KotBS so far - Armor, weapons, shields, but I'm not really a fan of the feathers. I'm sure other high level helmets will exclude feathers. All of the tanks in WAR look appealing. My least favorite probably being the Ironbreaker; I'm not really a fan of dwarfs.
Another thing - I keep picturing the KotBS's armor in black and gold via purchased dye and how cool it may look in game. :)

Well, not footage exactly. And there's a Reiksguard and Knight Panther in there too.

Man, I'd rather have plumes over that... thing on his head.

And in that picture the Knight Panther has plumes.
*Edit* AND the Reiksguard, too.
You just can't win if you want to be an empire knight, it seems. Somebody has to wear the feathers, it's an imperial edict or something.

Actually I quite like plumes myself, especially on a jauntily-cocked hat, and they are iconic Empire dress.
It's just the peacock-style fan we've seen in KotBS screenshots and concept art that doesn't appeal.
Mind you, it doesn't seem to be easy to model a good-looking plume. They looked pretty bad in LOTRO too.
