I was wondering if anyone knows a way to disable the Caps Lock key in Vista. Often times when I am playing a game, I inadvertantly hit the Caps Lock, so when I chat... you know the story. lol.

So, any advice for disabling the Caps Key? I never "intentionally" use the key, so disabling it would not effect anything I do.

I did think about removing the damned thing from my keyboard. But I thought that to be a bit extreme. So, I thought I would ask some experts.

Not sure what brand you have but with logitech you can disable a number of things through setpoint. I've got caps lock and scroll lock disabled. Unfortunately I cant find anything in vista. The keyboard thing under control panel wasnt much help.

I had the same problem with a windows button near my ctrl (lower left corner)
I just removed the button, now I can't accidentally press it and tab out in windows anymore. Seeing there are 2 buttons with the windows logo anyway it doesn't hurt me. I could also remove the CAPS since I prefer shift.

there is probably software to disable it. I know some keyboards can disabl the windwos key.

If you are acidently hitting capslock, perhaps you need a keyboard which suites your hands better as i never seem to. Tisn't that easy to acidently hit.

The simplest solution is to get a screwdriver and carefully pry off the key. I did that with the Windows keys on my keyboard a few years back because it would alt-tab me out of the game I was playing. Haven't missed them since. Just keep the key ready in a nearby drawer if the need for it should arise again.
