Choppa's Under-powered?

Does anyone else except me think the Greenskins Melee DPS Career, The Orc Choppa is Somewhat Under-powered?
All the videos that I have watched involving choppa's look like they dont deal out very good damage. That would be stupid as they are 'Supposed' to be a Damage dealing career. In every Fight I have watched choppa's fight in they deal tiny ammounts of damage slowly. I have seen a cool looking choppa, supposedly in tier 3 armour but his melee attacks were hitting 6. i mean co'mon '6' thats very shi... bad. Can anyone explain a little bit more bout them or send me a link of a High-Hitting Choppa?

This is a bad post, no offense. The game is in beta and in betas things are very subject to change. For all the public knows Choppas could be overpowered this week and underpowered the next, and overpowered again the next week.

You can't even begin to have good speculation on a topic like this.

the choppa obviously can get himself fast into and out battle and still pwn but i think their hp could be a lil higher! i like pie to!

Calling the Choppa underpowered or overpowered right now doesn't make sense. Like the guy in the beta said, it's beta. This is where they test everything and change stuff to make sure it ends up good come release. So those Youtube videos can only give us an aesthetic look on WAR. The numbers and moves right now don't really count for anything.

Way too early to tell. A lot will change between even the open beta and release. Example: In WoW mages had invisibility in Beta and were just generally OP, at release they were a middle of the pack sort of class.

what I understand, they are not dangerous at first. Once they build up their Waaag they become leathal. 2 Different melee characters. Thats how I understand it will work.

Why are you even posting this now? The game is in beta, things are not even close to balanced, especially looking at videos that are months old.

The best part about your worthless post is you seemed sad when the Choppa was under-powered in your mind. Yet, as soon as you saw a video and they looked overpowered you were happy.

This is the kind of crap that doesn't help a game, it hurts it. The goal is to have balanced classes to make the game fun and challenging. Crying WOOT! for a class being overpowered is just the most ignorant thing I have ever heard.

I just hope no one that thinks this way gets into beta, or we will have some severely unbalanced classes. It is sad there are so many people that just want some game imbalance to help them out and win in a game (and the best part is they call this imbalance "player skill"). Sadly, there are people like this in every beta I have been in, and it is pretty pathetic. The goal is to have all classes balanced so that each class is viable for play. If 2-3 classes are extremely overpowered, the game will be a dull, boring, predictable peice of junk where 90% of the players play the flavor of the month class (the over powered class).

And the best part, as soon as the class is fixed, these players will come back crying like babies about how they got nerfed. Many of them will quit the game, or delete their character all together. It is so dramatic and rediculous. That is the reason for balance, so you can pick a character class you would enjoy, not just pick the most overpowered class so you can "be the best" (the best cheater/game imbalance exploiter that is).

I don't want anything to be over powered, nor underpowered. But I want things to be both overpowered and underpowered in different scenarios. Like say a Choppa is overpowered in melee, but underpowered in ranged combat, while say a Squig Herder is the exact opposite. That is how a game must be balanced, or else it will just turn out to be one huge imbalanced mess.

This post is about 6 months pre-mature, if not more, IMO.

I agree they will be under played if you look at all the people on this forum's career choices, but I think they'll be surprisingly strong. Alot of destruction people seem to be going Black Orc and Dark Elf. The videos are old and I'm sure some balancing has been done since then, but I hope not :). Love watching that Choppa go through those stunties.

I think out of the frenzy they will not be as good DPS, but in frenzy they will have high dps.

Hard to say this early, but supposedly they "ramp up" and their best abilities are when under zerking. The few I've seen are also in the newbie zone, so...

I'd guess the "6" damage you saw was a bleed, remember the melee bleeds in DAoC were fairly weak.

I just realized the 6, besides being a bleed since it appeared to pop up on attacks, could have been something like hamstring in WoW, an attack that does very low damage but its real function is to snare or do some other kind of debuff to the victim, or maybe buff to the attacker even.

Don't think their underpowered just nobody knows how play them as of yet due to no information on ability trees and actual abilities being given out...so all we are basing choppas abilities are the general description...DPS.

But i do feel that if you are to play a choppa you got to be able to attack tactically i.e. don't attempt to take on a tank...but go for the healers at the back...stab them in the back..were it hurts :P
