View Full Version : Hatred, chaos magic.. what do black orcs get?

Okay, so, I've been bumming around, looking at all the "mirror class" threads and I've been wondering..

Chosen is the Knight of the Blazing Sun mirror class, with what I've taken as both having auras or whatever.
And I assume that a black guard's hatred will work in the same way as an ironbreaker's grudge.

So that leaves black orcs and .. swordmaster. Reading the abilities of the black orc, they have things called BUILDERS, which I can only assume are combo points, but if they're mirror class to swordmasters, who use a mechanic called dance or balance or whatever it is, I don't get how combo points parallel said balance mechanic (which I sort of take as an odd sort of stance dancing if anyone's familiar with WoW's warriors).

So can anyone help me out here and clarify a little?

They use a combo system of "Builder" attacks, and "Finishers". The more builders you use, the stronger the finisher.

Swordmasters have the same thing under a different name. The "Builders" you use as a Swordmaster increase your "Balance". There's "Balance", "Improved Balance" and "Perfect Balance". At "Perfect Balance", you can use a Finisher. Same thing.

Well, I disagree with the way most people "mirror" the tanks, but yes, Black Orc's get a combo system, and yes it is different than that of the Swordmaster. The Swordmaster's sword dancing is however a combo sort of system, the sword dancing abilities have three different levels of balance, who's names I forget. Basically the Swordmaster uses a level 1 balance attack which unlocks a level 2 balance attack which unlocks a level 3 balance attack, which in turn starts the cycle all over again with unlocking level 1.

Does that mean orc's combo/builders will work like that or? I mean, it seems like everyone's third mechanic is nearly the exact same as their mirror.

No. Some finishers require different numbers of builders (1 or 2), and adding more builders makes the finisher more powerful. But no, you don't need to build up to three every time and there isn't an intermediate step.

Gotcha.

So two's the supposed limit of builders/combo points/whatever you wanna call 'em?

Yep, from what we've seen, but that might change. Some abilities will require 1 (at least) or 2 builders to use, some abilities will just be stronger if you have builders, and some won't use builders at all, or will be builers.
