i have seen screen shots of the shadow warrior at tier 2 and 3 i have noticed that they look exactly the same except their color

http://mythicmktg.fileburst.com/war/us/media/images/careers/swr_03.jpg
i do not like the helmet for either of those tiers and am disappointed with the art work at those levels the tier 4+ is amazing and am loving it. If there are not any other types of armor sets or looks then thats kind of telling me they need more things focused on lower players not too much but enough because in the other game it was so boring to level up at the mid levels . the game was too focused on end game and not enough on leveling and increasing your stats and skills

p.s srry out the broken links kinda new to war alliance :( just go on the official site and clink on the sw screen shots it says the tiers and stuff

Those aren't exactly the same...
It clearly shows an upgrade from the leather chest piece to a scale mail chest piece, with a little more 'flare'. About weither or not you like them, that's completely your call.

A note about your links. they have http://http:// at the start, which makes them not work.

They look different, its just more subtle than the other classes.

I prefer it that way since it fits the shadow warrior concept well, its not very convincing when your sneaky assassin is wearing 3 feet tall shoulderpads.

edit: i edited the links so they work

That was not funny. I don't know why you laughed. Anyway I like there armor, its cool and very ninja like which is how its meant to be.

I think he's laughing at himself missing the differences, seVere. And Mister Chief, if you look at the tier 2 shot he has a second option without face and helmet so I think we'll get a few options to play around with - hopefully it'll be equipment based so we can change on the fly or switch looks at each tier jump, cause it would be very annoying if we got railroaded by our tier 1 choices throughout - I don't want to wear a helmet till I get a hood...

Also, can someone explain to me why so many people look at the SW and immediately think 'ninja'? I'm not saying they're wrong it's just I really can't see anything ninja about them except for the mask...

Exactly the mask. Especially the ones they use on the art for the higher tiers, they look very much like ninja mask of in some old movies from the 80s/beginning 90s.

I hope we get some options without that kind of face mask.

Have you ever meet a real life ninja? How do you know what a ninja should look like? naruto wears bright orange ffs.

I've studied a bit of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu in my time (not a lot, but enough to know some stuff - so yes, kinda. A grandmaster in his 80's visited from Japan once, which is the closest thing there is to a 'real' ninja that still exists. And while the modern image of a ninja is likely different from how they actually would have looked and although our knowledge of their practices is hazy, it's fairly safe to say they wore masks if needed and darkly coloured gis. There is nothing remotely Japanese about what the SW is wearing.

And Naruto is a cartoon.

You are right, I think the only thing which could remind people of a ninja is the mask, and that they are guerilla/ambush like fighters. It's a big stretch though, and probably a lot of people are making that comparision half jokingly.

the shadow warrior is a hit and run/ambush unit this is reflected in their armor. the greens and other colors are to help the sw to blend into his surroundings like trees and such .
the helmets would be for the close range combat and a ninja would not wear a big shiny helmet that clinks when you walk. their armor is light is to help them get out of sticky situations or for the hit and run tactics http://mythicmktg.fileburst.com/war/us/media/images/careers/swr_04.jpg

Well I'm pretty sure there will be a hide helm option and I had mask option. I will probably switch between the two, however I just want to let every1 know that real Ninjas did not wear those kinds of masks. The Omnitsu, or Shinobi, Or Ninja (of the Iga clan anyway) looked more like this: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.geocities.com/ominobu/iga15.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.geocities.com/ominobu/iga3.htm&h=463&w=500&sz=38&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=6AuvAWy2bzxFgM:&tbnh=120&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3D%2Bsite:www.geocities.com%2BIga%2BNin ja%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official

(The one on the very top)

accept on missions they just about always wore dark blue or dark crimson red. Same goes for most Koga I think.

So far the devs've said there is no hide helm option in WAR.

If that is the case I do agree with Mythic's choice (although I am not really that convinced they actually said this, other than maybe Paul). But I much rather see an option to turn off the helmet for your character only, on your own screen. That way when someone wants to see player characters with their helmets on they can. On top of this there should be a second option to turn off ALL helmet graphics of all players, again only for the person who selected this option. And as a third option they could show the preferred graphics of all players. So the third option would work like the normal helmet off in other MMOs. By giving multiple options everyone can get what they want, instead of one option only (the third one) which can be quite annoying when you do want to see the helmets.

But anyway, the SW does look different in Tier 2 and 3, as others have already said.

Thanks for the correction, I thoguht it were more than Paul, but could be I'm wrong, I haven't read anything about this in a long time. And your options would be great.

Actually, nothing has been officially said, but Paul said he wants it to be in and Jeff said he didn't, in two seperate videos. So it could go either way.

I think if it is in, they shouldn't have it available for all classes. I mean, if a Chosen hides his helm, WTH does it show? A big blob of nothing under there?

Well, the SW concept art includes pictures of the mask down around their neck, and no helmet... so, if nothing else, they're preparing for the potential.

I believe it's very likely they'll have an option, since people would definitely complain if there wasn't.

I really hope there are other options than just having a mask for all SW. But that is something different to shoow/hide helmet.

Well that would be fitting with the TT. A lot of the miniatures do not have masks at all:

Yup, the art here looks more like a Waywatcher in some ways. The cinematic comes closer to the TT (not speaking of the face).

It's likely that there will be helmets that don't include face masks. Or the face masks are part of the chest piece, which is entirely different, and could potentially mean another toggle, but that'd be odd... and unlikely.

It could, perhaps, be part of the trophy system...but I am just speculating here.

maybe the mask could be like the cloak in DAoC... /cloak or whatever you did.. put up the hood...or took it off

so /mask would put it up... or leave it down...whatever you like

Lower level chosen do. But as they progress, they become so flooded with chaos energy they basically become a walking suit of amour with nothing but swirling chaos energy inside. At least that is what I have been told.

Who knows, Mythic might drop that concept entirely. Based on previous actions by Mythic, it doesn't seem like they have an issue bending parts of the lore.

I see what you're saying. But wouldn't having the ability to select what the user wants to see on characters defeat the purpose of trophies?

I also like this factor, now the enemy will look at you from a distance and be deciding if they would be able to kill you or not based on your gear, but if they think you have tier 2 when you actually have tier 3, it might backfire on them. This is how it was in WoW sometimes: I see the person with full season 3, and I stay away from them; but when I see someone in bad gear, instantly attacked.

The option to hide your helmet/mask/whatever should definetly be in. Only positive things can come from it.

well I think if it is put in it should really be class limited, and it shouldn't just be that your helm disappears. It should work like the trophy system where if you want it up it will cover your head, if you want it down it will hang around your neck. some classes that it would fit for most of the lightly armored classes. Lets face it the Witch hunter had would look a hell of a lot cooler if you could have it held up on your back by a string that goes around your neck.

of course there would be some limits, like the t2 and t2 of the SW, the steal helm would have to always be on but you could have the option to cover it with your hood.

So no hiding the hood but options where possible to give it that unique feel. Having the helm disappear but still give you the stats is just stupid.
