So do you think the ArchMage can solo PVE?
I love everyrthing about the Achmage (apart from there elfs), but do you think they can solo PVE and PQs
on Ten ton website: http://warhammer.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&file=index&func=display&ceid=142&meid=104
they say "It sounds like the Archmage may not be the best choice for solo play though and will do their best work in groups"
I know it wont be hard to lvl up in a group with Scenario every 15-20 mins and xp from RVR but i do love PvE and the idea of PQ
so what do you all think, the Achmage is not the best RDPS and i dont want them to be but do you think they can hold there own or will its but like so many other healer and lack in damage?

I don't think any of the ranged supporters will be PvE soloing machines, but I don't think it will be mindnumbingly painful compared to other classes either, as long as you spec for solo play.

All classes must be able to solo PvE. Some to a lesser extent than others sure but if there was a class that couldn't even kill two or three mobs alone then I personally would call it useless.

I feel like it could still be quite possible, considering the nature of healing classes. Especially considering the supposed nature of Archmage. You have to balance your offensive and defensive attacks to really do well, and if you do it right, you'll end up with mana longer than if you went strongly one way or another, leading me to believe that they'd have pretty good survivability (since they're made for endurance in casting), and potentially very little downtime.
That said, I feel like Warrior Priest of Sigmar is going to be the best bet for soloing in PvE, out of any of the classes. He's got Medium Armor, shields, and lots of skills to boost his damage, and then heals after.
We'll just have to wait and see, but I doubt Archmage is going to be walking on eggshells in PvE.

The ability to heal and still do decent damage will likely make the support careers better at soloing than most. No, they might not kill quite as quickly, but a Goblin Shaman, for instance, (assuming they haven't changed his mechanic around again) can easily fling nukes and then do some quick *free* heals to himself during a fight.

Will depend on whether they have decent crowd control. If they have some ability in such then they should be able to solo as well as anyone else until the point of when soloing is not such a viable choice. This game isnt really about soloing and I personally hope the game doesnt make it a feasible choice through the entire ranking up process. Dont want to be next to a guy in an instanced boss fight in the capital who hasnt learned how his class works when grouped with others. There are so many class varients of the four major archetypes that it will take some practice getting to know just how your class fits into this more complicated balance.
Those that dont learn such in the ranking up process will be a hinderance later in the limited number battles such as scenario's and boss instances. Yes, it appears some of the top npc battles in the sieges will be instanced so that a King doesnt get steamrolled by 200.
