Community News is a side project I'm working on here for the site. Basically it would be a way for the community to submit news directly to the site. You get your name credited, the whole 9 yards. This could extend to guild news, fanart news, etc. The news would or could either be displayed depending on the article, on a special guild news page, or the front page. Of course all submissions would be validated for content and relivancy ala Slashdot, but I think it would be a great way once the community gets rolling to get the annoucements out.
What do you guys think about this? Pro's Con's? Types of features you'd like to see, or would not want to see?

I like the guild news page idea. Would certainly encourage many guilds to participate more in the community and make announcements for everyone to read. As long as guilds don't send in 5 announcments a week that they expect to be fronted up contantly, then it should go smoothly.
On that note, would guilds be expected to make one announment a month or just be limited to a certain degree?

Right now the exact aproval process for articles hasn't been determined. The framework for this is almost already in place and for now we're just enlisting the community for ideas on how they'd like to see it done.

This is a good idea Garthilk. Many times we have WAR news posted first here at WHA by community members and it gets buried in the General forum.
