Corsairs? Look more like executioners to me, quite a lot like those featured in the concept art. But I think they are Black Guard.

The Black Guard who everyone thought was a Cold One Knight had no such confirmation.

Also, that Dark Elf getting shot by a Shadow Warrior looks like a NPC Warrior to me. Again, check the chart, guys. Looks a lot like him.

I truly feel for the Black Guard fans, I really, truly do.

But consider this; as long as you don't know much of anything about your class yet you can still hold out hope that they're actually doing justice to your class. We're not all that lucky.

Now that might be a Black Guard. It has that gutting out piece of armor right below the chin that is absent in the Executioner pics, but we've seen it in the concept art.

Maybe blackguards don't wield polearms for their entire career, but none of these pictures show the mighty Halberd! And that makes me question whether any of them is a BG.

Yeah, but it looks a lot cooler this way. And I can ask ya a question back, how often on two consecutive screenshot releases have we seen the same NPC? Thats three or four pictures of the same npc, in all sorts of different settings, and now two in unison. I agree it looked like the executioner artwork, but I think it's a Black Guard.

I don't agree that it looks cooler. I guess both your scenario and mine are rare if not unprecedented, but at least mine has concept art to back it up.

Maybe they're repeatedly releasing screenshots of the Executioner because they look cool? Maybe they're repeatedly releasing screenshots of the Executioner because they know we haven't seen in-game shots of the Black Guard yet, and they're trying to tease/mislead us (for sadistic kicks).

Either way I won't say I'm certain of anything but I'll stick with my original statement for now.

IMO, it seems pretty obvious that the two standing on each side of the WE are executioners. Color scheme, armor style, etc. definitely match up with that.

The poor chap getting shot in the back however, is most likely a low tier black guard. Just look at the armor style and coloration.

Then compare it with the Dark Elf Warrior concept art right next to the Executioner Art. It's an NPC, no question.

When you save the image is has the name "WAR_DE_NPC1.jpg", so i'd guess from that that they're NPCs.

Black Guard NPCs! All the other ones being speculated about don't come close to portraying the Black Guard like those screenies do. The back two are female too so Destruction will have a female tank class to choose now. :p
