I'm not sure if Mythic have implemented this or haven't or simply won't, but I thought it would be a good idea, for some room to customize your book.

Say, for the Greenskins, a torn and ripped looking hardback with fungus growing off it's rims. For the High Elves a large 'perfect' book laced with magnificent gems, making the book more race for-filling, it would also add some pride to who you are in the game.

Also, the more you fill the book, you get the choice to modify it. For instance, a High Elf has killed 1000 Dark Elves so his book can be rimmed with a golden plating.

This isn't particuarly bragging rights because only you will see it but it would be so original and an awesome addition to such a good idea.

That's a really great idea - for an add on later. In my opinion there are a lot of more important things to do than the outer appearance of the Tome of Knowledge.
Perhaps users will be able to create an individual look while designing new interfaces.

Cheers for the comments guys.

I agree that customizing the ToK isn't really that important but be nice to have a few optional designs.

Mainly though I think racial differences in your books would real make you feel like more of a individual (excluding members of your own race).

Yeah exactly my thought.

But in that case every race would need a complete individual interface - not only the ToK - wouldn't they? ;)

Thats true, but a neutral UI works aswell

Would it be that impractical to have 6 different UI (one for E, GS, DW, C, HE, & DE)?

I agree with you, how hard could it be for the Dwarfs to have a stone solid UI interface and the Greenskins to have a green fungus infested UI, the ToK would be no trouble.

I like your idea a lot and I hope it's implemented, but what do you mean by for-filling? You needs looks to get unlocks easier?

I assume you meant fulfilling lol

Really nice idea! But there are other things I would see before it. and I'm sure if it's lacking when the game is released, some smart heads will surely make a nice mod for it ;)

Only thing is...I'm going to be a greenskin but I love the look of the ToK at the moment. It may not have its same appeal if it's all green and fungusy etc, and we'll be looking at this thing constantly, so we have to like it.

Yes, dried dung would work for a hardback.

That's a great idea but it won't ever seen the light of day, there's just too much for them to do already.

I could go either way with the upgrades aspect. I think its a good idea, but I wouldn't become depressed if it wasn't implemented.

However the race specific idea is brilliant and I think that that's how Mythic will do it.

I agree, it should be implented some-time. I loved when playing WH40K the UI changed depending on race, it's always nice touch. But main thing (imo) is that it's actually very possible even if they won't have it at launch. Style how Mythic works is really pleasing me (last ToK and exploring videos were awesome) and listening to player ideas would be their way. Ofcourse Blizzard does that too but mostly only if that's ranting by hundreds of people,
small and brilliant ideas at suggestion forum are fully ignored. WoW would better game if Bliz would listen to actually smart people not fanbois and it doesn't look that Mythic would make same aproach.

I think it is a good idea to make the books race orientated, but it is not a pressing matter to do so perhaps it could be patched in later on?

I think it would be a nice touch at some point - doesn't have to be release.

I'm sure that shortly after the game is released some person, smarter than me, will mod skins for everything ui related.

And the skins will prob be cool too.

We can only hope. Maybe I can throw my hands into modding again. Did a bit of playing around with it in that other game that we don't mention.
