Because I think that would justify the over the top but oh so cool armour, but if not I don't care, it just looks so darn good. Might have to roll a WE instead of a Sorceress...hmmm

As Someone who has known about Dark Elves and Witch Elves for a long time this is pretty much what I was expecting.

Well, this showcases your ignorance when it comes to dealing with the puritan fools we have for the rating boards.

While Europe had the better sense to kick all the Puritans to America a while ago, we're stuck with people who give M ratings to semi-naked characters. The top covers the nipples ever so subtly, but the boobs are rather exposed.

Take, for example, the whole WWE Orlando billboard debacle. Since most wrestlers are semi-naked, the producers of the billboard were told to tone down suggestivity. You know what they did? They blurred out the nipples out of the bare chests, instead of putting some tunics on.

People also made a crapstorm out of the whole Janet Jackson accident. Now, imagine the furor of the complaints by parents when they find out their teenagers are playing virtually nude women who seem to come out more of a dominatrix magazine than anything else.

Sure, we have pictures with similar nudity, but they're not that abundant. There are plenty of full cover bikini tops, and the TT unit even shows full covers.

Nevertheless, seeing their artistic direction, I bet I'll be amused by other outfits. Let's see just how many tops they can come up with with interesting nipple covers.

Honestly I've found the ESRB's ratings pretty fair and straight-forward for the most part. I can think of an exception or two, but overall I can't really complain. It's pretty well inline with movie ratings now.

I hope they use some common sense. There is nothing I have seen that makes this game anything but teen.

I just hate it when people try to censor stuff because they don't like it. I think it was Walmart that banned Maxim (one of my fav mags). That irritated me, but I understood that was a decision they made. It's thier store, they can make whatever decisions they want. It wasn't forced on them by a bunch of tyrants. But when some outside agency comes in and decides what's suitable for everyone else I get pissed. I think it's somewhere in Europe where models on the cover of magazines have to look a cetain way (can't be too skinny). (I'm not a 100% on the specifics of the law). I HATE BIG BROTHER!!! Let people make thier own choices! Freedom is a good thing! I guess it's human nature to want to dominate others.

A little bit off topic, sorry. I just don't think there should be a problem with the high level WE getting through the T rating. I would love to see them go M, but I understand the financial concerns. There will be more and more of those games in the future anyway.

They don't need big brother to come in and tell them they can't be on a magazine cover. The managers and people who publish magazines can't force women to be skinny. It's there decision. Give these women a little credit. The idea that these models can't think for themselves and make thier own decisions is a little condescending IMO. Big brother doesn't like these women to make decisions, so they have decided to make it for them. It seems women are typically seen as too dumb/weak to make decisions for themselves, and thus need others to do it for them. Knowing many smart, strong women I find this foolish, condescending and demeaning (not to mention several other words that would get me banned!)

Not everyone (man/women) will make a right decision every time. Even more often, people will make a decision that is right for them, but will be viewed as wrong by others. I believe people should be able to make thier own decisions and live thier own lives. It's just hard for people to overcome the need to control others.

And to be somewhat on topic (not really) the WE in the video would bathe in the blood of anyone who treated her like that!!!:p

Because if it was left up to them they would only hire girls who are skinny at a level where it's starting to become lethal. And then the women have to choose between the job of their dreams or risk their live.

The fashion designers have been asked several times to set a weight limit themselves because it is life threatening, but they've all been undiscerning and the state thought the only choice left to help those women was to enforce a certain weight limit.

Adding to that, as far as I understand it that business is among the hardest ones out there regarding competition there is. A consequence of that is that those trying to compete are forced be skinnier than the rest or risk not getting a job.

There are plenty of tough businesses, for men and women, with a lot of tough decisions. I just feel that people should have the freedom to make them. Obviously most models wouldn't be that thin without the $$$ incentive. It's thier decision, whether people like it or not.

Big Brother is going to take care of all our decisions eventually.

Sorry for continuing the off-topic bit. Having said that...

I work as a nurse. In my line of work there are plenty of procedures that are governed by law. For example placing a foley catheter up a patients urinary tract I have, according to law, make sure that the environment is as clean as possible to prevent any infection in the process. I promise you though, that it's a lot easier to do that if you can ignore those laws.

My point? How I perform my job is governed by laws to protect (in this case) the patient. There are others that protect me. Same thing in every profession. Just because a models work isn't as common don't mean that it should not be laws in place that protects the models. Work on a oil rig or other high risk environment and I know that there are tons of laws in place for those exact same purpouses. Is that "Big Brother" too?
Laws designed to protect people from being hurt on their workplace is good if you ask me.

What do you think about this -

Women get in 5.7 accidents per million miles while men get in 5.1 accidents per million miles, even though men drive 74% more miles a year than women.

Should big brother ban women from driving for thier own good?? The poor things just don't know how to handle it:rolleyes: It seems women especially are treated as dumb people that can't be relied upon to make a decent decision.

If enough people wanted to stop having skinny models on a magazine cover, all that had to happen was one of the following:

1. Skinny models stop posing
2. Magazines stop putting them on the cover
3. People stop buying the mags

None of that happened. So we get the draconian 4th option - big brother telling the poor girls they can't be on the cover (for their own good of course)

Like I said, I used the model example for the type of condescending big brother behavior I hate (and will see more of). I am in no way an expert in fashion mags, European law, etc. There are plenty of other government actions telling men and women what we can/can't do for our own good, I just picked a few off the top of my head.

Their are plenty of movements that treat people as too stupid to make thier own decisions and try to control what others can/can't do, but to me the worst is when government does it.

I sincerely apologize to those who have come to the thread to read about WE and were put off by the off topic discussion. I shall cease writing off topic (on this thread at least;))
If someone wants to continue the Big Brother subject they can start a new thread in the appropriate forum and I will meet them there.

You've got the whole thing backwards man. The government isn't telling the models "You're not allowed to be on a magazine cover if your weight is less than x". The gov is telling the people who hire those girls "You're not allowed to put them on a magazine if their weight is less than x".

None of the girls want to be so skinny, but they have to because the competition is that hard and the people in charge want them half starved.

You also realize that alot of models are quite young and might not be able to forsee all of the consequences of their actions yet, don't you?

Blegh, far too hourglass, like a 40 year old human mother trying to turn her oversized and undernourished breasts and buttocks into something prestigious. I don't know if she is an NPC, but the lithe and youthful player character models we have seen look four times better. I hope they are not going to change their shape into this. Next would be Conanesque elven males.

Why don't you guys stop going on your pointless societal critique that only you care about, and actually discuss the witch elf?

I think it looks pretty good from what we can see of it.

Saerain, about it not being as lithe looking and what not, I'm guessing they were just doing a basic animation test after they had finished the model to make sure it moves around. There is a better video clip of Paul showing it to a female co-worker, and from their reactions you get the impression that it not only looks amazing, but is possibly too-sexy.
