It is that time again, we are again taking submissions for more avatars. As you know the Warhammer Alliance forums already sports more than 100 unique Warhammer themed avatars for members to choose from. However from now until June 10th registered users can submit their own avatar to be added to our avatar gallery. All submissions will be screened to ensure they fit with the site's theme and overall style. In addition there are a few more quid pro quos.

Just sent five, basically all variations of the WAR logo (http://www.warhammeronline.com/english/media/buddyIcons/full/full0017.gif). I just really like it for some reason, and always wanted it to be my avatar icon. Only problem is I think they may have turned out blurry, I'm not sure.

You can submit a Guild avatar. However it must contain no text. Also since it would be going into the general avatar bin, anyone could use it. As for special guild features for the forums. We would like to offer something to differentiate yourselves further on the forums, but time will tell.

I have around 40 avatars to submit, the problem is they're all 80x80
I'd better get to resizing them.

Is it possible to get titles/descriptions on them?

Read the rules, they are pretty clear regarding text.

I tried shrinking several of my avatars down to 76x76, but they didn't look as good as they were in 80x80. Also, all of the forum avatars are 80x80.
So my question is, what's up with submiting them 76x76?

If you notice there is a small 2 pixel border around the avatars. ;)

is there a limit to how many one person can submit?
if not, how many should be put in one email?
if we have several, can we archive them?(.rar)
also should they be submitted in bitmap format? like the avatars on site seem to all be?

Psssst. If you're desperate for a certain avatar but don't know how to make them, then pop the picture along to Pendy or Garthy begging on your hands and knees for them to resize it and put it up, along with: "Archy told me to!". Or you could try and send it to me, but I'd probably just muck it up: technology is so complicated. Seriously, my own avatar took me an hour in paint.
I bring you secrets.

Midnight Templar... try cutting off 2 pixels from each side instead of resizing the avatar. Don't know what the command is in Photoshop, but in Paintshop Pro it's "Canvas Size".

Also, I'd be glad to make any other avatars people may want. Either tell me what you want, or even better, post a link to a picture.

Hey Archangel,
I have a couple Archangel drawings/art I've compiled when I was forming a guild called "Archangels" on DAoC in the past. I thought you might like a couple of them if you're interested I can send you copies. I made a couple into avatars for our forums already, but I don't think they are 76x76.
Doubt any of them would work in the warhammer lore, so I wouldn't expect to see them on here. :p

I'd be honoured Rohan!
A little bit of change every now and then never hurt anyone. But it'd take something a bit special to beat this stonker.;)

I have an image I'd like to crop to fit the specified size for an avatar but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help me?I can do it for you if you'd like (post a link or PM me).
Or, if you have Photoshop you can crop the image to just the part you want (shift+drag to keep your selection square). Then, resize it (image->resize->image size) to 76x76 pixels.
The same idea works with other image-editing programs, but I don't have them to know the exact method they'd use.
