Emo was an offshoot of the Washington DC hardcore punk scene in the mid 80s... in recent years it has been misappropriated by a load of floppy-haired crybabies who probably wouldn't know mental anguish if it came and bit them on the arse.

Apparently it's also been adopted as a rather lame insult (although at least it's still a noun, which is a relief given the wholesale of the English language by the youth of today).

not really, theres loads of just normal teenegers who arent emotional or anything, but theres loads of 15-16 year olds that wear all these emo clothes and dye their hair black and fashion it across their face, wear girls trousers (skin tight and about 2 sizes too small) and go on about hwo their lifes so , even tho they live in their middle class house, with their middle class liberal parents, and their only want in the world is still a blade to kill themselves, but they dont have the maturity to eithar do it, or grow the up. I hate emos, they give the human race a bad name, as a 17 year old i find emos a nuisance and i ing hate htem, so do quiet a lot of people now aswell and im glad they piss me off. Youtube the emo song.

Well emo's are better than chavs , plainly because they don't feel the need to go round' bashing anything and eveything up.

I myself ain't emo, you'd never catch me in those clothes or with fancy hair . I just think they don't really cause any harm atall , well maybe to themselves but thats it.
