Lo, posting this as read in some website that there will not be creation of armors or weapons in the crafting system at all.

http://www.gamekult.com/articles/A0000065547/
(This is the full interview in french)

In that interview you can see this;

"Mais à aucun moment on ne créera d'armures ou d'armes ?
Josh Drescher : Effectivement, il n'y aura pas de création d'armes et de choses dans le même goût"

Translated in english;
"But at any time one will not be able to create armours or weapons?
Josh Drescher: Indeed, it will not have creation of weapons and of things in the same taste"
(Used an online translator so maybe not 100% accurate, but still you can see the meaning).

What you think about this (non "war is everywhere" "this is war" people? i mean for you who likes crafting).
Tbh for me is a total dissapoint, as seems they creating the crafting system just like a "fluff" stuff, just like a minigame with no other porpouse.
For a crafting system like that i prefer just not crafting at all, and then in future expansion when they got the time, add a real crafting system.

Still seems strange for me that in a game where they keep saying the "war" stuff, the crafting system dont let you create that war stuff (armors and weapons), so well just wish this is a wrong translation made by that website or anithing.

What do you think?

Laterrr :)

This really belongs here (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=75) in this forum.

I think it makes sense, and fits in perfectly with the nature of WAR.

The problem with crafting high end armor/weapons, is that it turns acquiring these weapons into a chore. If you aren't a crafter, that means you have to go do various things that you may not want to do, just to farm specific mats to make that weapon. The better the weapon/armor is, the more mats it needs, and thus, the more time you need to spend doing something you don't want to do.

I think making armor/weapons drop off other people in RvR combat is the best possible way to handle the issue honestly. That way, you will always get stuff just by playing the main game, and you don't have to divert your attention to "side" stuff to get gear to be competitive.

This is already been talked about in the Crafting Forum (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=75) of WHA.

In this topic here No armorsmith or weaposmith (http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32402)

The translation does seem very loose, however I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was accurate. From what I recall hearing about the crafting system, most of it relates to consumable items like potions and food or other buff items (sharpening stones). The idea behind a character being a weaponsmith or armorer, could be that they augment the weapons they already have, rather than forging new ones.

Well part of the 'anti-gold farming' stance is designing a game where gold is not that important.

In order to do that, they need to limit the ability to sell 'great items'. If there is nothing 'great' to buy, then there really is really in not a driving desire to buy gold online -- especially as they say gold will be very easy to obtain.

Aye, that seems to be Mythics stance.

If you don't make consumables a big part of the game, and crafting, and buying BoE equipment, then gold won't be a big deal.

From other videos as well, it seems crafting is designed to be more supplemental and to be side careers, rather than being a primary focus and career.

Crafted items sound like they will temporary (buffs, pots, limited use items, etc), that will enhance the combat experience, but are not required. Though I believe Jeff hinted at the possibility of some cool items along those lines -- my guess maybe limited use siege gear, and such.

Also, I see the 'demand' for crafters to be a lot less, given the ease of the crafting mechanic. Odds are that a group of 6 players will cover all the crafting lines, and thus grant its utility to the entire group.

I liken it more to how mages made water for groups. It wasn't something that was made for 'sale', but rather created for the group utility.

noo000eleventy1. the crafting system that has been revealed is a demo version. there are more then 3 professions in warhammer, and it will include weapon, and armor crafting.

please dont take this idea seriously, warhammer has suggested in no way that this is there crafting system. that would be the biggest hype to actual content in the history of games ever.
