No, not that kind of party :)
I was wondering if Party Buttons are going to be available in WAR. By party buttons, I mean a casting bar that can be linked to individual party members. As a healer in pvp, this takes a lot of the frustration out of healing, and allows me to concentrate more on getting into the action! I will admit, I'm an "click" addict.

Well, you can have two targets at once: one friendly and one enemy. Nothing more than that though.

If somebody doesn't get a Clique + Grid type mod going for WAR healing, I'll try my hand at it. Hopefully it won't get to that point though ;).

As a healer in WoW for god knows how long, and as a mod developer myself, you can be rest assured that I'll be working on a Grid + Clique esque addon the moment I get my hands on the API...

You guys rock! To me, a grid makes things sooo much more fun and requires so much less micro management. have they said when they are going to open the API? For those who played LOTRO, you know that they don't always do this, and it makes things a lot less fun and a lot less customizable.

They've stated several times already that the API will be very accessible and lenient (a la WoW mods), and that they have a very specialized group of Beta Testers playing around with it as we speak.
I would imagine that once Open Beta is available (I'm approximating about 4 weeks before release) that they'd allow at the very least a sneak peak at the API to give time to mod developers to start coding. I preordered the CE already, so as soon as Open Beta is playable I'll be seeing what I can do. (That is, after I've played as much as humanly possible of the game itself for the first week or so of Open Beta :P )

I assume this means the Curse crew. Good deal :)

Can anyone elaborate on the Clique + Grid system? Is this a UI mod from WoW?
I've never spent more than a week in WoW, as most of my time was spent playing EQ2. I was a big fan of customizing my own interface there, though. I mostly downloaded other developers mods and tweaked to my own liking.

Who brought the alcohol?!
Oh.... not that kind of party eh...
On a serious note. I hope WAR delivers ALL the UI we will ever need. Never been a fan of downloading 453 mods from 3rd party sources to evenly compete in a game.

BOOOOOOOO!!!!:mad::mad::mad:
Mods are redundant. All they do is spoonfeed the lazy with the info that's already available via the default UI / logs. Also incorporates the chance of downloading a nasty virus / trojan / keylogger when attempting to get the latest new mod out on the market.
It's a piss poor idea imo.

I disagree. One of my favorite things about MMOs is digging into the statistics and data that makes up a situation. Now obviously this is not for everyone, so a basic set of data will more than likely be displayed on the default UI. I believe more recursive data should be able to be displayed though if the user should so desire, only to point though. Coming from EverQuest II, there were character and combat numbers that were revealed, and then there were those that were only known by the developers, giving the game a sense of mystery and unpredictability. I don't believe that every aspect of the game should be revealed to the player, but there should be a balance.
I am strongly against mods automating any in-game task though. If anything should be found to be redundant in-game, and that was the developers intention, then it's just something we have to accept. If not, then hopefully people's voices will be heard, and changes can be made.

Grid is a lovely mod that condenses a raid UI likely to take up half your screen in the largest raid size (40 man), to a very manageable square that is at least half the size, if not smaller.
Added functionality includes indicators of incoming heals, HoT stack status, indicator of who is being targeted by a mob, etc. Very useful mod for raiding and large group PvP.
And much preferable to the default UI even without the additional functionality.

First, to Pewpewarrows... your sig is awesome. made me lol
Secondly, to Novolos, I totally agree with you. They should limit the mods o being helpers only, not doers. Someone should not be able to rig the game to play itself, to any degree.
In a PvP based game, this takes the fairness and chucks it off the roof into a slavering pit of Zombies.
