You're talking about elves not being "goodly" or "soft". I hate to break this to you, but if you want half the things you're asking for, you should be a Dark Elf. High Elves ARE softer and ARE goodly. That's why they have "high" before their race. They're the goody goody two shoes breed of elves in this world. They're not pansies, by any means, but they're not, for the most part, "dark" or "gritty". They're a peaceful people forced to war to preserve the world, not warmongering and hardened killers that live in snow-covered wastelands (read as Dark Elves).

I've been playing tabletop for years, and I know plenty. The High Elves are not dark or gritty, they are called HIGH ELVES by the designers of the game and are guardians and protectors. Being manipulative doesn't make them dark, being a higher race doesn't make them dark. Now let us see if you can make a rebuttal that isn't "full of fail".

Edit: Note that any post with the words "Teclis" or "Phoenix King" or "Malekith" in them automatically fail, they fall under the "Hitler in an argument" rule as applied to Warhammer. If you have to bring out famous figures to make your argument stick, you fail at arguing and need to crawl under a rock.

Please, for your own sake people, get rid of your slavish devotion to an old, random podcast entailing a R-P-S setup that you, for whatever insane reasons, have determined to be the near absolute arbiter of all conflict in the game. As well as your unhealthy focus on who can beat who in single combat.

Not a one of you ever seems to have the slightest glimpse of the larger picture - or to understand that it doesn't really matter, in the end, whether one can beat the other when they're by themselves - that expecting that some sort of RPS setup can ever be strictly enforced in a GROUP setting is impossible without destroying the game.

I just realized that part of the reason I am losing interest in WAR, (besides things like this; unnesessary changes like this) are some of the people on these forums, the people constantly complaining about gender restrictions, and jumping in game, the fanboys supporting these things just because the developers posted something and they get a wet dream off it. saying "it's fine what they are doin" with every change, and if a developer posts, forget it, they are completely void of an opinion. The illogical arguments for supporting these kinds of changes just puts me off. People complaining about the most trivial of things (things not even mentioned by anyone but made up in the minds of these lunatics) like mouse turning INSTEAD of the big changes like this thata ctually drastically effect gameplay.

I have noticed a lot of my posts are negative nowadays, but i also have realized it is because of these people. Yes your entitled to your opinion, but when the same few that make up BS or just dont have an educated opinion and defend it to death and sit there and ignore their stupidity, i just wanna not play the game.

think I am gonna take a break from these forums, i am here too much and its the 30 page threads on mouse turning and bunny hopping in an MMO where jumping has not been addressed by Mods in like a year since it doesnt effect MMOS, that just make me not want to play the game. My advice for the Original Poster is this: stop making assumptions. if you have a concern about something try to imagine the context. stop using WoW as your framework for interpreting WAR, its a different game.

Seriously... i know they have stated they won't be using the best anti-piracy technology, but it doesn't mean everyone can play without purchasing the game. So it will still be serial numbers and they could even make you run the game with the disc in (although i doubt it).

Anti-piracy..im sure they would love to make SOME revenue off the sale of discs on launch and as the game progresses the emphasis of generating cash flow from this would clearly dissipate and be more on subscriptions.
