This is seriously annoying, by the time I have made a reply to a post on these boards my account has been auto logged out and I get told that the thread isnt there anymore.
This feature is really really annoying me because I dont want to have retype my essay.
Also why doesnt the text stay in the box if you go back a few pages, that feature really needs to be implemented on these boards.
rant off.

Bizarre. No time out problems here and text in the box certainly does stay as I move back and forth (usually to check what the correct spelling of a poster's name is).

Well im currently at work and im using internet explorer 5 I think, so maybe that is my problem?
I can move back a few pages and go to the page where I have entered my text but the only data contained in there is the text from the quote, everything I have input has gone!
Also this logout feature happens almost all the time for me, normally its not a problem, I am taken to a screen and I enter my user and pw again and the post gets done.
But the last time I did it I was given an error message saying invalid topic or something along those lines and my post was lost.
I guess it will be best to upgrade my ie browser if im allowed or to install mozila firefox, also if im allowed :)

Hey there Crysalis.
Firstly I'd like you to take a deep breath; if you have a problem then sure it'd be good if you told us about it, but yelling it at us doesn't make tackling your problem an exciting prospect. A little bit of politeness and friendliness will get you everywhere!
Now as to your problems: nobody else is encountering them. This means one of two things:
1.The problem is at your end. Try ticking the little box that keeps you signed in when signing in. As for the thread problem, that's definately new.
2. You're having direct account problems. In which case Garthy will come along and have a look at your account. (I would, but the Admin panel still scares me).
If anyone else is experiencing the same problems, or has a nice little solution, then come along and share it!
I bring you help.

I think it is just an ie 5 incompatability issue.
I only upgraded this machine from win 98 to 2000 yesterday before I left for home and I forgot I hadnt downloaded any service packs etc.
Also my IE does randomly crash so once this thing installs then it should be ok.
I am though used to vn boards where your account is kept logged in untill you log off, would be nice if these boards had that feature imo!
p.s You cant really say I was yelling, I only used capital letters to emphasize certain words, but yeah I was really annoyed because it took me about 30 minutes of doing work and writing my reply in between and I really didnt wanna type that all out again!

All right. Problem sorted. And... we do sort of have that feature. If you tick "remember me" when signing in, then that will keep you signed in for as long as you want. To sign out simply click "Log Out".
No more need for this thread.
I bring you peace of mind.
