a few progressive ideas left me wondering if this will be possible. mabye not all of it, mabye not in all ways, but how cool would it be if mythic allowed people to mod the Tok. they could add counters, note books, scrap books, change the way you use it, how it looks ect. add ideas that they come up with, raise the existing kill counter caps. mabye in a year or so we can be asking someone about a cool custom Tok ui instead of just a cool custom ui.

I have to agree, I think it would be great for people to be able to customize their ToK; especially when you're someone like me, who will spend most of the play time trying to find all the goodies available. Add a notebook, maybe to keep track of raid times and locations, specific builds, anything you could think of.
Personally, I'd like to see something equivalent to photo-album. You can choose some of the screenshots you've taken, put them in your ToK. Let's you remember those epic moments: Down Franz, winning that piece of loot, a massive critical on a clothie. Just something to add additional depth, give the ToK a sense of summarizing your entire journey, especially the good parts.

Re-skinning the how the window looks, or changing the fonts, would be nice.
Changing the way it worked, adding functionality to it, and basically 'hacking' the ToK program would be a horrible mistake, in my opinion.

The photo album is an awesome idea. That would rocks. Especially if you export it to your guild page from the web version.

Why? s not like the players would be giving themselves some sort of bonus in game by adding other counters and such. They could add all the counters they wanted but they still wouldn't get some sort of reward be it xp, titles, trophies, etc.

For the same basic reason you are not allowed to hack the graphics in the game.
If the default UI and ToK doesn't give you 'counters', then the players should not be allowed to hack the program to give themselves counters.

I have to agree that I think allowing people to edit the functionality of the ToK would be a mistake. People would find a way to take advantage of it.

actually that has been done in wow. some people changed the graphics of their charecters, but the only ones who could see it was them.

They didn't actually change anything, they just swapped models. Like, you'd replace your Undead Male model with a random mob or other character model. It didn't just change you, from then on every single Undead Male you saw would appear as whatever mob's model you swapped in.
Model swapping can affect your game experience, even if you haven't swapped models yourself. For example when I use to play FFXI people would swap the model of chest and coffers in dungeons with something large like Ifrit for example. people who had swapped models had an unfair advantage now when it came to finding the chests and coffers.
In a game such as WAR this could have more of an affect. Why not replace all your enemy models with a dragon so that they can be seen easier.
As the ToK goes, I agree players should only be able to reskin it.

thats really all im talking about for the tok also. just mod edition to the book, change the order in wich it reads, the graphics, add pages, raise kill counters. just graphics.

The photo-album sounds reaaaally awesome. From a lore perspective, it might not make sense to have photos in a medieval-style fantasy setting, but who cares, the idea is great.
I'd also love the idea of being able to write my own pages, and writing notes to articles. If for example, I realised that a mob used a dangerous ability under certain conditions, I could write a little note to remind myself of that.
The ToK could also contain the biography of your character. In LotRO everyone is able to write a short biography of their characters. Having that feature in WAR would definitly add a lot to the "depth" of the game.

I don't necessarily like the Idea of adding counters and such to it, however I do like being able to reskin it. The notebook is really awesome too. I had one for that other game we dont mention and I used the notebook a lot. Whether it was to write down a debt someone owed me to where I had found this little kid out in the middle of no where. lol. I like being able to take notes on stuff....maybe its just me. I have like a million post it notes around my computer. :D

I do that so much. I have to write like everything down or I forget. Then when I need the info I forget where I put the paper I wrote it on....:? It gets pretty hectic sometimes. :(

:p Good ideas but I bet they have already implemented alot of these, especially notebooks and raid time recordings. That photo book sounds good though

Adding new stuff (in new pages, like a chapter in the end) = good.
Modding stuff = bad (Except for visual stuff like fonts)

I want an addon that replaces all instances of the word dwarf with Stunty Gitz.
I'd kinda like it if the tome pages format remained the same, I would even like pages that had hard to read handwritting and half obscured bloodstained notes you picked up, but I guess that would be difficult to multilanguage.

That is because they messed around with the files that the game loads for graphics. This is also VERY detectable and earns you a nice-sized ban for your troubles.
Any legitimate mod will go through the API.
The one mod I could see being made for the ToK would be something akin to Lightheaded from WoW. Basically, a questing aid that pulls data off of a popular database site. (This is more for alts than it is for your first toon ever, and even then if WAR improves questing this may not be completely necessary. Was a nice thing in WoW because people would often point out other quests you could do at the same time in the comments on the database site the info was pulled from)
The only mods I can see being acceptable are aesthetic changes such as fonts and maybe race or class relevant skins that EA:M provides. They already said that they'd more than likely put in a notes section.
Show off your 1337 damage in the forum, that's where it looks best at. Heck just show off your awesome equipment there too, some random guy playing can obviously see you have something nice.
