So what kind of auras are we talking about when we say that Disciples have auras? Things like, everybody gains health when you whack somebody normally or what?

:confused::confused:O RLY? Well, given the trend of the game and it's role of action points i'd imagine there was one that reduced the rate of recovery of AP's. If there is a healing one, maybe it'd be like a sanctuary aura that increases target's health recovered when inside the circumference of it.

Sorry for speculations- just hadn't heard of it either :(

Disciples getting auras is news to me, though I don't follow the class all that much. It is my understanding the only classes that get auras (or aura like things) are the Chosen and the KotBS

Ditto, hence my confusion.

' "aura" or buff" '
around 5:40 in the video

My guess the buffs will be along the lines of; faster attack speed, better healing done/dealt to, or better regen of health or AP.

Hmmm, interesting, I approve. Sure makes being a melee healer easier, eh?

Disciples will get auras, instant aoe heals, and instant small heals etc. Basicly very fast heals, but not as effective as the zealots and shamans. But they are instant, and we got group saving aoe heals.

"So I can turn on something like *Aura name*, which basicly takes a part of my essence and spreads out a aura buff. I can only have one of them active different Disciples can have different active but the same ones cant stack. but what *covering of vitality* does it basicly grants all the people in the group to life tap on every attack they do."

So we will have auras, and different ones to. Acording to what he said, "different Disciples can have different active but the same ones cant stack".

So to answer your question; Yes. We will get auras and good ones too. Just think of a Aura when you have a chance to drain life on every hit. That is just... amazing.

If I should guess on other kind of auras. It would be, extra hit points. decreased casting/hit time, that kind of things. We might also get auras like... decreasing enemys hit points, increase thier casting and hit time and such. Maybe a Aura that damage 1% of nearby enemys ever second, that is some Auras I can think of.

I'm guessing Disciples will have the friendly auras of Destruction while the Chosen has auras that effect enemies. If that's the case maybe another Order career (possibly WP?) will have auras then?

*checks the interview info*

Yeah Disciples get stance like aoe auras where you can only have one at a time which aids your allies. Similar to the Chosen's auras

The warrior priest supposedly buffs and inspires nearby fellows by his presence - sounds a lot like an aura to me. Since the disciple is the mirror class to the warrior priest it makes sense he does something like this too. I also agree with Unreal that due to the Disciple's evil nature he'll likely have aura debuffs affecting enemy players and/or offensive-styled buffs, paralleling the Knight of the Blazing Sun vs Chosen relationship.

I guess you could also relate that with the Runepriest/Zealot.... Buffs vs. Debuffs. It's not as closely related, but hey it's something. Order is showed having Beneficial abilities to the group, and Destruction have abilities that affect the enemy.

The issue with the AoE Buff vs AoE Debuff "mirroring" is that buffs merely effect the party, while debuffs affect all enemies... one affects a limited amount of people while the other effects whoever happens to be near. It's difficult to balance unless you put a limit on it...though I'm sure Destruction will have plenty of buffs, Zealots supposedly have "Marks" while there rituals are aoe debuffs that have some sort of interaction with the Harbinger..tho supposedly that has been changed up somehow based on a post of some sort I remember seeing regarding how the Zealot's career overview page didn't match there implementation at comiccon or some other gamesday.

Anyhow, given the RvR Paris video for disciples, there is a distinct point where you see him use a buff of some sort called "Covenant of Celerity", it could just be a self buff of some sort, or it could be the Disciple's version of Prayers.

The Harbinger + Ritual thing, to my knowledge, was dropped completely. Not to say they're not in the game anymore, but them interacting directly between one another was apparently "overpowered" and was leading to a lot of problems. Mind you, that was last I had heard, and I haven't been to the Zealot forums in a good long while.

but I can direct you - http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34751 for further information on the zealot.

As to the DoK itself, I believe it's already been addressed how our "aura's" will work by the Mythic gents in the Career video. Something about an AoE lifetap buff, where everyone gaining the buff has a chance to steal life from the enemy with their attacks.

This should answer the questions of auras (and other questions): http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/29631
