You can kill people while they're fighting, questing or on low hp

But you can't get your rank 40 char and kill a rank 4 because of teh CHAOS CHICKEN mechanic

P.S. killing rank 4s with your rank 40 does NOT make you have a bigger e-peen

You misunderstand the meaning of PvP, what you describe is player versus paper towel. or PvPT.

As far as we know, you can go down on a Core server and gank somebody if they're PvP flagged, but you can't enter the RvR zones without turning into a chicken. We don't know how this will work on Open RvR servers yet, but I'm hoping it's anything goes.

Huge majority of players like the chicken mechanic, no more griefing the lower players for no reason what so ever, let them fight fairly amongst themselves and try to help out the final tier as they gain points towards the later level city grabbing.

LOL, I'll be honest, it can be fun. Though you have to be graceful about it, and no griefing! ie: spank them around a little, and move on.

don't level then run killing critters (if they exist in this game) then you can fuel your god complex without ruining gameplay for other individuals.

So is to some extent chewing on razor blades but i don't really practice it... much.

I hope they deal with open-rvr servers wisely due to the problems that can occur if you chicken people in the pve and pvp areas (as PvE now becomes mob land but also containing PvP) then noone can do lairs and kill those high level mobs, but if you don't you get people who like for some unknown reason to kill someone in one hit and then stand around LOLing at their corpse until they see the person again (i think you spawn at the warcamp if i remember rightly).

Preying on the weak is what muggers do, as for rapists there are psychological reasons for that, but i see no difference between a mugger and a ganker? just one is based in the real world and one is based in the game world.

I don't think it's a troll thread. Actually, the individuals who compare somebody who kills a lowbie to a rapist are being trolls in my opinion. Or well...Carebears at the very least :) Sure the thread could've been worded much more clearly and professionally, but it's still a valid question.

Also, I don't see how anybody can say that the chicken mechanic exists in Open RvR servers; we haven't heard anything about that yet. Unless you can provide a link, don't put false facts out because you disagree with a certain aspect of MMOs. Griefing shouldn't happen, but I don't consider messing around with a lowbie, or killing them once as such. There are ways to combat abuse of PvP servers, cutting out content with the chicken mechanic isn't one of them. Besides, if you roll on a PvP server, you will (or should be) made fully aware of the rules.

Personally I liked being the 'bodyguard or big brother' of players, for example in that game Waiting on Warhammer, I often escorted low level friends through certain hot spots which either resuluted in a lot of attention or not at all.

With regards to ganking in WAR, should it be allowed, possibly but with some penalty? But I'll leave it to Mythic to decide, their game afterall.

There's a difference between the 'real' world and the 'game' world these days? ;) Government and psychological research would have us believe the mindsets people have in games directly translates to real life. I just don't see the point in asking the question, as if it's the only reason you'd be playing the game. If it's not the reason you're playing the game then the only function a question like this has to ask about whether they'd be on the receiving end and what could be done about it.

It's just a really agressive and selfish mindset that i abhor.

OP,I think EAMythic should have allowed ganking and griefing but after the grief and ganking they put a bounty on you where guilds would have earned Renown points for chasing and killing you then loot all your gears.Action & consequence :lol:
