Found this video, seems relatively new and couldn't find it posted running a quick search and scan of the forums. Looks like it was recorded at some event so I don't think its breaking any NDA. Anyways, it shows a disciple doing some PvE alone at first then with a choas buddy. Shows some possible use of armor dyeing and it looks like either that the disciple has really really crummy DPS or that he can survive fighting monsters way higher then he should be fighting. I'm hoping the latter.

Is there an alternate link? for some weird reason that website never works for me for more then a minute before it just stops buffering altogether.
Edit: nevermind. I just downloaded it. Watching it now. Comments to follow.

Nice to see a slight dynamic of a Chosen and DoK working together, though it seemed neither knew too much of what they were doing. But, they were just picking up the game, so it's understandable. I got a little giggle from seeing the Dwarf slave trembling in fear of the pair of DoKs at the end. Fun little watch, though, nothing truly amazing or insightful, however, doesn't provide anything really "new".

"I slay giant geckos in the name of Khaine!" For some strange reason I can't keep a straight face when I say that out loud. Yes, I know killing rather unimpressive critters is how you always start in MMOs but still ...
That player had no clue what he did in the beginning.
And everyone remember to Hype the video if you think its good :)

Can anyone see how essence exactly works from the vid? I figured it was the bar under the hp, but it doesn't seem to change at all. I was hoping to be able to see how slow essence left the player when out of combat.

I think he was fighting a high level mob, because if you look at how many heals he has to toss around and how quickly his HP is going down... I don't think an equal level mob would hit THAT hard.

In all other video's I've seen the bar under HP is action points... I have no idea where the soul essence bar even is.

Its to the right of the action bar. Its the little orange orb, if you watch it when its up it will empty and fill up as he uses spells and fights.

I found it. It seems like soul essence won't be a real problem for DoK's then... that's good I suppose..??

In the video you can clearly see that the essence bubble is full when he is out of combat, it does not drain....it actually fills. It does not work like warrior rage from WoW.

Does anyone else enjoy this part of a game's development when we try to pick apart every detail in a vid? I love this stuff.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but after the second lizard fight, when you can actually see the UI, the player looks to be healing himself outside of combat when he is done. However, it looks like his essence goes down from using the heal, and then immediately recharge.
What do you guys make of that? I thought combat was supposed to fill the essence bar? Is it that fighting will increase essence regen when in combat?
p.s. Thanks a bunch for showing me where the essence meter is.

Playing is definately more interesting just sooo much focus testing, least things are getting done and fixed which is leaps and bounds over how WoW was, still though...anxious for the whole thing again :P

Like in any new game there is a learning curve.
At first he just runs up to the mob and starts hacking away and buffs and heals in combat. By the third pull or so he starts to use a ranged attack, probably a DOT, and his DPS jumps quite a bit. I may need to watch the beginning again to see if he has any essence stored at first. It may have been that he had to run in and melee to get some essence, hence the mid-combat buff and heal. Once he got into the groove though it seemed like he was doing pretty well - buffing before combat, DOT to pull, and then DPS the mob down and heal up, rinse and repeat.
MMO basics, but yes, much, much improved graphics! I complained to my friends about the lack of "eye candy" and their response was "but the story line is solid!" Now it appears both are solid. I am really looking forward to launch.
