I doubt it's quite that simple. You sound just as bad as the liberal media.

It's kind of funny how in the Northeast we see the news as all controlled by conservative republicans teamed up with big business, and down south they see it as controlled by the "liberal media".

Thats how they be doing it a LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG time.
You fake an attack.
People go " oh help us great leaders "
People give up there freedom.
And there you go, more power to the government.
And to think people are killing in the name of USA.
On the pretense of all lies.
So, no, i am not even surprised or shocked one bit.

Aye, this happens a lot. See the Manchurian Incident for Japan. They blew up a railroad, blamed the Chinese, and was more or less the beginning of the militarists taking control of Japans government.

I'm in the northeast. Certian networks obviously take favor, and blatantly spread exaggerated or misleading material. Under this administration, it's mainly the "liberals" controlling the "media" to turn it against their adversaries. I'll admit, other networks do the same on the opposing side. But we're not allowed to talk politics, are we?

Yeah but how do you classify "this administration" as "liberal"? It's lead by president Bush, who is pretty darn conservative. And all of the networks that spew propaganda supporting his administration would be considered conservative not liberal. And arent they the ones in control of the "media"?

Bill Hicks is pretty good. I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but he sure is funny saying it none the less.

Indeed we do live in a messed up world, but anyway I don't this type of discussion belongs here since it falls under the political category. We have mmorpgs to get away from that kind of stuff

Separate topic i guess, but i like MMO's but dislike escapism. Just because its not related to an MMO doesn't mean it isn't worth talking about. It is important on some level to the people who are discussing it, and those people happen to be in an MMO. I would argue that because there is a social part to online games theres no reason not to talk about real life things. Video games shouldn't be an escape from reality but an addition to it. People have talked about how in game economies can become similar to real economies, well the same goes for the social aspect of video games especially MMO's. Those issues are important to deal with in real life, so talk about them shouldn't be squelched in games either.

I think instead of the same old " let us not talk about it " we should most def. talk about it.
And oh my man, Bill Hicks rocked big time.
His Jimi Hendrix was so damn funny, woosh.
Anyway i hope people realise now, that all governments are simply showcases of puppetry.
You think you have freedom, you think you have a choice.
You don`t.

He's partly right, but for the wrong reasons. Another 9/11 wouldn't mature the US government, you don't get that from a terrorist attack. If anything it'd probably make bigger cowards out of everyone. To really learn the US needs to be dominated, and thats not happening in the forseeable future.

Actually, to judge the character of anyone, it being a nation, government or a person, give them power, not hardship. It's easier to look good while facing hardship than it is to look good wielding power. The current US government has failed that test miserably (like so many other governments in the world).
On a sidenote, I have always wondered how the right wing in the US managed to make "Liberal" a bad word. It's pretty ridiculous. Liberalism is something to strive for. It's freedom. The US would be better off with liberal media than the propaganda networks like Fox News, that spread lies and misinformation.
Liberal:
1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
2. (often initial capital letter) noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.
3. of, pertaining to, based on, or advocating liberalism.
4. favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
5. favoring or permitting freedom of action, esp. with respect to matters of personal belief or expression: a liberal policy toward dissident artists and writers.
6. of or pertaining to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.
7. free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant: a liberal attitude toward foreigners.
8. open-minded or tolerant, esp. free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc.
9. characterized by generosity and willingness to give in large amounts: a liberal donor.
10. given freely or abundantly; generous: a liberal donation.
11. not strict or rigorous; free; not literal: a liberal interpretation of a rule.
12. of, pertaining to, or based on the liberal arts.
13. of, pertaining to, or befitting a freeman.
Pretty much everything above is a positive thing to have in a society. If people don't like the above, that's like saying they support the Iranian or North Korean government, which are anti-liberal, aka oppressive.
