Has anyone else posted this before? If you go to this page and scroll down to step 2 it says this:

"Step Two: Storyboards

As you can see from the storyboards, we took another crack at the action, this time featuring a Dark Elf Sorceress (female character, check! Magic, check!) and High Elf White Lion (Cool warrior class, check!). All looked pretty good, except we went a bit too far by giving the White Lion a cool new ability – the Lion’s Roar - that we could not guarantee would be in the game (or guarantee Games Workshop would approve) So we scratched that battle and finally settled on the Witch Elf vs. Mage pairing."

Yes, its been posted before.

Its not really direct evidence of White Lions being playable since in that very same cinematic you have a Dwarf Slayer fighting a Black Orc and look there are no Slayers playable. All it means is that the White Lion is/was considered for a HE career.

Yup, although that is the old cinematic. And if you can recall there was a Slayer in that cinematic. BUT, Slayers WERE in the game at some point, as PC, but probably later they decided there wasn't much to do with them.. (There was proof of this in the March 2006 Newsletter, but those images seen to have been removed..)

We can still see a ''Slayer'', but the picture I'm talking about had 4 different Dwarfs (Ironbreaker,Engineer,Hammerer or ''Runesmith'', and a Slayer)

So we know Mythic considered making them as a Class... Which is kinda obvious.

Yes, good recollection. There was a long, long discussion regarding the decision not to put Slayers in WAR (for not at least, we heard hints they may come later)

I'm glad they didn't since they'd need a game mechanic where Slayers would want to seek a permanent death, and few MMORPG players would do that regardless of the suggestions for a permadeath mechanic.

I think the cinemtic script is a good indication that Mythic had all the classes planned out a long, long time ago and evil Marketing decided to keep them secret for news-release fodder. At this point, the White Lion is the worst kept secret in MMORPGs :)
