Would love an option to be able to add our own notes / markers to the maps. ;)

I'd love the added ease and information from being able to put in useful notes of whatever kind with a Marker pinned so it shows when moused over (or clicked on even) on the world map (smaller, specific maps too would be a even bigger bonus).

Tentacles crossed - perhaps they ay have something like this sometime :D

Not sure if I've missed a discussion or info. on this somewhere so apologies if I have.

I'm positive someone will release an addon for this shortly after release, if it's not already there.

Heya,

At the last demonstration I was at, this was not a feature that was in the game at the time. Sounds like a nifty idea though. What kinds of notes or markers do you think a person would want to leave on the map anyway?

Some markers with a legend would be nice at the very least. Maybe some could mark cities/landmarks/points of interest.

This feature would be great to have in other games that had nodes for crafting but that will not be the case in this game. It would be nice to have to mark quest givers and or areas that you need to go to or come back to later.

What I might do is, if they don't allow notes on the map in game, is print out every map and make the notes myself.

I would print them all out, then tape them together and hang it on my wall as a huge world map. Then i would make strategic plans on it.

I'd do this but whenever I had company, I would start blushing and stammering trying to explain why a 24 year old man has a fictional world map on his wall.

*Grins and chuckles*

Hmm.. yes, adding the function to make notes on maps (for locations you want to return to i.e. quests you've left for later, good ambush points, best way to march to a keep, lair or hidden area, strange area that may be important etc etc)

Might save some people from shame and guilt it seems ;)

general locations of resources or certain bosses for quests if my friends needed a quest I already finished or the spot I love that no one goes to. The ability to make map notations is a great thing because if we can mark a place we love and show it to someone else, maybe it will become important or maybe it can be that special place we go to so we can be alone.

In stuff like WoW where this was an addon, I didn't really see the point in going about getting or using it.

However, it's included in AoC by default, and I must say that after playing and using it for a while I have found it to be an invaluable asset.

It's not really a make-or-break decision for me whether Mythic includes it in WAR or not, as I'm sure I or any other author would be happy to code something like this. Always something to think about ...

Try being a girl that have to explain why she have 5 maps on her wall all from different mmo's........in a very large scale, but strange enough when i tell people one time what it is they usually just shrug and say cool, but i guess that mostly because i know so many people who are either table-top roleplayers and/or plays mmos and/or does the same as me, know one who have the wall of his room covered with a D&D world map......and the door as well

I though the ToK already did this for you and marked points of interest, discoveries, NPCs, et on your map.

Wouldn't surprise me if it did, but what would we talk about if these things were certain.

I had that mod too - a very, very convenient tool. Great for jotting down Gathering notes and quest tips.
