First of all hot keying is available in Warhammer right? I assume so. Just making sure.

Does hot keying give you a bigger chance of better playing than clicking your action bar icons? And does it eliminate global cooldown? I heard that I think...

Yes - hotkeying will be available, no - it will not make you a better player. Play around and pick a control scheme you are comfortable with, not what some random internet guy told you to do.

I wasn't told by some random guy; try 3/4 of the WoW forum population. Since Warhammer seems most similar to WoW, I thought it would be the same in Warhammer. But I was a "clicker" in WoW, and I did fine...

Depending on the class it becomes more and more difficult to "click" abilities in World of Warcraft. Say you are a rogue or a warrior, or well any melee class its very difficult to click you abilities because you are not waiting for a cast bar to go off, instead you are just using the next ability. Now from a caster's perspective, it could be possible to click abilities however it really is often easier in my experience to bind your abilities and move with your mouse, allowing you to quickly get out of things.

IMO Hotkey FTW in MMO PvP, unless you have a SUPER fast index finger

Well I was a mage in WoW... but Chosen have few cast bars so hotkeying would be best I guess. Thanks =D

Yes in WAR as a melee you will need to hotkey most of your abilities. People will be trying to get away from you, so to be effective you will want to steer with your mouse at all times to keep up. If you're slowed down by keyboard turning while you're trying to click an ability you will fall behind them.

No, of course it doesn't eliminate global cooldown, that would be ridiculous.

However, using hotkeys allows you to keep better control over your character with the mouse while being able to f.ex. queue spells faster than you would by clicking (because by mouse clicking you are effectively changing focus).

This is assuming you don't need to look at your keyboard while typing, etc.

With that being said, people should play the way they want.

I like using shift hotkeys. like, shift+W for my main damage/heal ability, and shift+D/shift+A for my second and third most useful abilities, respectively, with others bound around ShQ, ShE, ShS, ShSpc, and Sh(z,x,c,v) for misc. abilities i use in "Oh crap" moments. 1,2,3,4 and Sh(1,2,3,4) are also often used, depending on my class.

however, i just cant play with regular bindings, like r,f,c,x,z,v,g,t,1,2,3,4,5,6,`, or the ever useless 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,-,=,\ which is less efficient than clicking, and limits your abilities. i have seen people with every single key hotkeyed tho, and that is a major headache.

I agree.

It is about what works best for you. I wouldn't consider 3/4 of the WoW posters to be a solid source of information.

I have seen 'clickers' perform better than 'hotkeyers'. Its all about how you play. Clickers tend to plan out their moves ahead of time, so they don't need that 1s (if your a slow clicker), as they are already ready to click the ability when the cooldown expires.

Hotkeying is more for someone that needs to click immediately, and thus cannot afford to have a 1s delay.

Ultimately it really gets down to what works for you.

I use a combination of both, but usually I run with MTing and hotkeys on my basics, and click on my secondaries and misc stuff.

i rolled my self to 1850+ with clicking, the thing is you lose so much time clicking `1` and then using the ability all the way at `9`. Time consuming, and full of fail, my friends convinced me to bind my keys. It took a bit of getting use to it, but after a few games I was alright =p. Yes, Hot keying/key binding is much more efficient

One of the best PvP Hunters on our WoW server does all his work via clicking.

I play both a Prot Warrior and a Sub Rogue and I use hot-keys. Neither class may have a cast-bar, but an addon like, "OmniCC" can color your buttons and what-not so you can see when things are coming up again.

There are innumerable WoW addons that let you work your timing on non-castbar abilities. And then, of course, there's the old saw: "mash your face on the keyboard until it is dead."

Really, whatever works and feels good. I'm assuming WAR will be the same way. i.e. lots of options to do it how you like.
