Redundo in Auctorita - Excess in Power
The Gods inhabit a realm of pure energy and formless power that exists outside of space and time. This is not literally a realm, nor is it literally a place at all, but as not mortal can visualise such a thing, it is convenient to think of it as a kind of coexistent space or alternative dimension. By the same token, its inhabitants are not creatures for they have neither bodies nor minds as those things are understood by mortals; they are elements of pure thought and pure emotion – concepts and impulses ordered by neither form nor reason. These entities, if we may call them such, are but the reflections of the subconscious minds of mortals – a mirror of the heaving turmoil that is the sum of mortal hope, despair, rage and pleasure.
Thus, it is only right we revere them, it is only sense that we should give thanks to them. For what other Gods gift us in such manifest ways? What other Gods have marks so obvious, marks so clear, marks so real? None. There are none that compare to the great four, none who are so real, as incomprehensible as the Lords of Chaos, the Daemonic Masters – Tzeentch, Khorne, Nurgle and Slaanesh. And indeed, many do worship them. Some do so openly, building huge temples and massive edifices for their glory. Others worship through acts, whether this is the raw thrill of the kill, the subtle weaving of manipulation, or the embodiment of lust given form
But there are those, in the Empire, who seek to fight against such things, there are those who would see our idols cast down, and our stigmata burned from our skin. We cannot allow this, no, there shall be an end to our hiding in crypts, to our secret cellar’s and our depraved worships. Many are the warriors of the Norse who flock to the Empire now. Calling themselves Kislevite traders, raring for the chance to over-throw this weakling Empire, and instate a new lord. Instate a new command. They come to us, to our house, to the nobles and wealthy merchants who give them refuge and cover as Bodyguards. Many are the Cultists who come from the folk of the Empire themselves, they meet us in cellars and secret houses, and together we perform our sacred rites, invoking the names of our Lords. And there are those who lie as independent parties, those who act not as a group, but single entities floating through the Empire. They shall join us too. And this is all done through us, for we are the main conspirators of this plot, we are the ones who shall seek to overthrow the Empire, we are the ones who shall be re-instated as the Lord of this Land, the Lords of the Old World. The most high, and venerated chosen of the four. We are the future, we are the heirs to power. We are the Sons of Chaos.
And yet, despite this, we are hunted. There are those through out this ‘Empire’ who seek to purge it of our beliefs. They run a cruel dictatorship, in which we must obey and not utter a word of countenance. We cannot abide by this, we serve only the Dark Lords and we refuse to bow to this ‘Emperor’. And so we move north, away from this ‘Empire’. Past Kislev, into the Lands of Norse, where the Sarls, Aeslings and Vargs rule. It is there that we shall find our true brothers, and from there that we will have our vengeance.
* * *
For generations, the dominance of the Skaeling in the lands directly north of the Empire was abundant. They were considered, by many, to be the strongest tribe for years. They had the best crops, the best women and the best horses. They were known for their daring raids down the Reikwald, and on many an occasion the Marienburg Naval Force had to repel them.
Alas, as with all great tribes, the Skaeling grew comfortable in their dominance, and less and less every year did they make examples of those who would oppose them, less and less would they make a show of traitors and thieves. It was to be their downfall.
Krum the Merciless, Grand Varg of the Skaeling, was challenged, and it was old custom that bid him to acknowledge the challenge. Unfortunately, the last few years of his life had been spent revelling in the luxuries of his position, and the young upstart quickly took his head and the name of Great Varg for himself. But this reminder of the old ways served as a ray of hope for the other tribesmen, and so it was that the domino effect took place. Warrior after Warrior challenged the Varg, until he tired out, and was cut down, replaced by a new Varg, who in turn, was cut down. The fights escalated, until the tribe was rent in four. Each making a new name for themselves, and severing old ties.
But then came the uniter, a warrior who was yet to taste his first winter when the feuding had begun. He was called Valkar, and through his strength of arm, he rallied together the members of the denomination of his birth, calling himself the old title of Great Varg. As one they marched to the Altar of Ns’Haurndth, and what a site it was when they arrived.
The other three split factions of the Skaeling were stood there, their leaders standing at the Altar Mount, their eyes staring hard into Valkar’s, and his staring back, defiant.
The bloodshed that followed would go down in the history of the Skaeling as the Khaaqshyek. It was the night of blood and death, were the greatest of warriors fell to the weakest of weaknesses. But, come sunrise, Valkar held aloft the heads of the other three chiefs, and in doing so, cemented himself as the first Great Varg of a Century.
The Great Varg gathered the remnants of the tribe and promised them a return to their glory days, and more, they would know not only the conquest of the north, but of the south too. The world was their oyster, ripe and ready. All that was to come was the harvesting.
Yet the Warriors of the Skaeling were down in number, and though united, were small. It would only be through the true will of the Gods that they would re-claim their places, and whilst change on such a grand scale rarely happened in reality, it was the very thing that chaos thrived on. For stagnancy was Anathema to the Dark Lords, and such a change was, through some perverted into-retrospect, expected.
* * *
May I only say, it was a favoured night that the Cultists of the Empire, and the Warriors of the Skaeling met. Thunder roared in the heavens, rain poured from the skies, and the tangible stink of magic in the air was so thick, men were coughing. The two forces met, weapons in hand, and their leaders walked forwards to meet each other. Great Varg of the depleted Skaeling, Valkar, standing feet over the Sorcerous Lord of the Cult of Chaos; Pitter Na’suieh, attempting to stare the Empire-man down. But it didn’t happen. Behind those eyes he saw a mirror, one of common purpose and heart. Thus the alliance began, unspoken, and unbreakable.
These two were not to be enemies, no, for the Dark Lords had a greater deed in store for them, together they adopted the titles of Great Vargs, and together the world would bow at their feet.</center>
Chaos.
It is the basis of all magic in the Warhammer world, it is everything, and yet, there are those who deny it’s power, those who betray the lords of darkness, and seek to use magic against them. But what of those who seek to use it to its fullest extent, ignoring the petty groups and guilds and small covens, what of the true warriors that work to exalt it. Join us, and you shall find out. We are the Sons of Chaos, and our history should be known to you. You too, venerate the dark lords? You wish to gain their favour, like you would if you were their son? Then my Friend, join us.
<center>I want to join, but what happens when I do?
Firstly, post that you're interested, and fill out the above form for us. If you've any questions don't hesitate to ask!
We're always looking for talented RP'ers, and though it isn't the focus of the guild. Such individuals are always welcomed.
People with some decent skills when it comes to HTML and/or Web Design are wanted badly too. What's a guild without a good homepage?
Alliances and the like can be dealt with through either Myself and/or Giggles (Spirit).
There are no hardcore rules of the guild, but the aim of any game is to have fun, and thus, don't take any of this too seriously, keep things In Character in Character, and Out of Character, out of character. Just because your character is a slaaneshi worshiper, doesn't mean you can't get on with another player, because he plays a khornate character.
</center>
We are a guild, and we do aim to compete in game. To join, simply provide us with the following information.
[b]Your Character’s Name; [/b]
[b]Your Forum Name; [/b]
[b]Interested in RP? or just gaming?;[/b]

[b]Varg: (i.e. Pitter or Valkar)[/b]
The quality of this will decide your initial placement within the guild. Your Varg will decide the characters main place within the guild, as those venerating Valkar will be, inevitably, of Norse Stock. Whereas the cultist followers of Pitter will be of aristocratic stock, rich, and most probably cunning and devious. Magic users are limited to Pitter’s stock, whereas Khornate warriors are limited to Valkar’s.
Alternatively, other races could be accepted, if your application proves to be worthwhile. Positions within the guild are as follows.
Vargs: The Vargs are Pitter and Valkar, leaders of the Cultists and Tribesmen respectively. They are the unified lords of The Sons of Chaos, and none dare disagree with them, save those who wish a quick death.
The Blade of Moonlight: Valkar’s lieutenant, the strongest of his warriors, and the bearer of the moonlight haft.
High Priest: Pitter’s lieutenant, his retainer and the most powerful of his elite Sorcerous cabal.
The Chosen: The strongest and most martially skilled of Valkar’s warriors, and the elite inner priesthood of Pitter’s Sorcerous Cult come together under the banner of the Chosen to form the mainstay of the Sons of Chaos’ elite. They are the trusted, and religious zealots of the guild. And it is they who command the younglings on the field.
Valkar’s Tribesmen: The original tribe members of Valkar. They are of Norse stock, and are strong, physically, though not all too used to the civilized manner of the southern lands. They are mostly warriors, but not exclusively so.
Pitter's Cultists: The followers of Pittar, those who fled with him. They are from the Empire, and consist of a wide network of covens and cults. They include Nobles, Merchants and all those who form the dregs of Imperial Society. They consist mostly of cultists, lore-masters and others who specialize in one certain trade, many small time magic-users are included in their ranks, and the odd militiaman, is too included.
Coven Susceptibles: Those who have not been fully inaugurated into the guild, but are undergoing trial. Trials are overseen by the Chosen.

<hr>
</center>Pitter is driven by rage, his very soul dedicated to destroying Sigmar’s hold on the Empire. He was exiled because of his affiliation with the Chaos Gods, and ultimately, it is the destruction of the Empire that drives the Sons of Chaos. But the actual aims and goals are as many and varied as the heads of hydras. Valkar is driven by the desire to rule, and the desire to be greater than any other living creature, but he is willing to share that power due to the Chaos Gods whims. He aims to following the footsteps of Archaon but take it to the next level, actually completing the final stages of the plan, destroying the Empire completely and raising to become a God in his own right.
Overly Ambitious? Maybe, but it's an aim strong enough to hold the guild together for a long while, and there are many small trifles to be settled before then. However, we need these trifles, and a strong community of members too. So why not join us? You know you want to.

Even though I am interested in join a chaos guild, I think its abit to soon to be joining one as there would be a long wait until the game is released.
But maybe when we’re closer to beta testing would be a good time to join.

My friend, Knightly, have you no sense of forward planning? The Guild will evolve and change as information grows upon the world in which shall all soon hopefully embark. If you're interested, join up my friend, we are serious, but that does not mean we cannot have fun! Just get to know us, and we'll have a laugh RPing together. C'mon, you know you want to.
What happened to all the Yes votes on Giggles' poll.
This is not a massive commitment at the moment, but a base to grow from and familiarise yourself with what will soon become your allies and comrades.

I know this might sound strange (or maybe not if your used to MMORPG’s) but I tend to take my time choosing a guild and I tend to become quite attached to any guild I would join. I also see myself as a loyal player and I tend to see guild members as friends more than just people I play a game with (yes I do have a life).
But saying that im not a RPer nor am I a pvp-nut, im more of an in-between kind of person and I like to have my own character with his own personality, without having to talk like a pirate. I also enjoy using voice programs not just for pvp but for general chat aswell.
I understand where your coming from when you say forward thinking, but its hard to say im going to be apart of this game when I have no idea what I’ll be doing in 2007 (I could be dead by then). So like I said I’ll take my time and hopefully I’ll get to know you and the way your guild will work.

Sheesh. All the interest, and no more members than the founders.
Well... Keep in mind, all it takes is one person to join, and the others will follow, or perhaps, you're all looking for exactly what we want in the sign-up form for you to join? Well, I shall provide a basic one for you all to look at, and then after that, do what you will. However, I shall need time, so wait a day for it. School is a b**** and I've just finished Work Exp. It's fething annoying. You'd think they'd let us rest.
On a side note, my second history paper was called out invalid by the Exam Board! GSCE Mocks... I wrote in pencil... urgh. Stupid me.

However as you said, when one joins others will follow. Hopefully. To help out, i will join you, but I demand rewards, mwahahahhahaha. Ahem, sorry. Anyway, I'm in. Lord live chaos and all that.

Alright. Just as an update to those Knightly-likes, here are a few ideas I have had, for some assorted guild-based activity. I know many of you are pondering over joining, and wondering just what it is we offer, other than the pure aura of virtuosity that so many have commented to be tangible around ourselves, of course.
So, what do we have to offer?
Firstly, our guild is unique. We are evolving, and as more information is released on chaos, with the game approaching, we do plan to tailor our guild to fit. Something, which I have written on, in an extensive manner, and something I do believe our guild could cope with well. However, such plans are to remain top secret, and even when such a change is to occur, it will remain within the reaches of the upper-echelons members only, until it commences.
We have, of course, an amazingly unique background, and it is something that is too, evolving. Not to mention, all of you who are taking an interest in this, we cannot survive without you.
And of course, this is all only the embryo stages. The guild needs to develop, become a foetus, and then, an entire body in itself, but we shall not stop there. Not until we are a game-spanning Empire. This, as the name suggests, shall span an Empire. Or The Empire, though, we’ll call it something cooler. Like – Death-land, or the Marshes of Murder. You know, something tacky and horribly 1980’s fantasy.
We shall indeed reward our guild members, and trust me, those who remain loyal from the beginning, who are committed to us, (and we take into account real life events) and who will, inevitably end up as chosen, will have a position exalted above all others, as befits chosen. Though, don’t get us wrong, there will be plenty of tasks, trials, and small guild quests for the younger members who join us, but those who we have known for longer, who we have seen to be loyal and trusting, shall acquire the full benefit of the guild.
Money, weapons and armour are the basis of any MMORPG, and as such, a guild treasury shall be founded, if such things can be founded. We will strive to carve the eight-point star into every surface we can, and whilst the name of chaos flutters away on the wind, it’s undying taint will lie forever in the ground. So let us sow its seed everywhere, and together my friends, we shall rule.
EXCESS IN POWER! REDUNDO IN AUCTORITA!

Seems like I'm the first to join. Anyway, I hope that this character profile is correct. Please tell me if something needs to be added.
Character’s Name: Asach

Asach crossed the mountains to the west, reaching the land of the Skaelings where he, an exile from his tribe and child to a dead cheftain joined in with the Sons of Chaos to forge his own fate, under the watchful eyes of Khorne. Why the beastmen and the Warrior-Priest intervined is unknown to Asach but it he belives that it's a proff that he have Khorne on his side.

Can I join in with the stupid questions?
How is someone supposed to post a character if nobody knows anything about in-game characters?
We used our intelligence, random guessing and failed attempts at asking Mark, and then decided that the most likely starting point for chaos would be as marauders or cultists- hence the backstory being about marauders and cultists. When Mythic finally release information we will update, and your characters can update alongside it.
for the moment the important part is what God you are intending to follow (or whether you are undivided), your characters name- the rest is all detail subject to change.
for the moment this will be our space to talk, plot, have a laugh and take random potshot guesses at how Chaos will turn out, and of course for us as leaders to get used to you so we can determine where you will fit in the grand scheme of things.

That sounds good to me Spirit. I'm working up my character still but I hope to post it tonight.
Your Character’s Name; Tobba Knat
Characters Basic Info;
A famed pit fighter, known for beating his opponents to a pulp with his bare hands. Knat, as he is called by his fans from the pit, and those who know him, brags of being the only human to ever beat an Orc to death in unarmed combat. "Not even Sigmar did that! He needed a magic hammer!" He boasts.
When drunk, Knat will start fights with anyone, and will end them suddenly with lethal power from his punches. Knat respects no warrior, guild or organization.
Currently wanted in many cities of the old worlde, Knat has killed Watchmen, and bouncers - but still frequents the bars. Knat is a dangerous, disturbed individual, and is best to be avoided.
Recently Knat has stopped drinking, and has stopped fighting in the pits, a new passion is calling out to him, one he has little experience with... Knat is told he is needed to serve Khorne, and he is needed on the battlefield. Knat will not let down his master who has been so good to him.
Age; 43
Appearance; Middle aged fairly normal looking man. Shaved head and a black/grey beard. Robust, and above average in height, 'Knat' is an imposing figure. Knat rarely smiles, and is known for taunting his foes before brutally murdering them with his bare hands.
6'3'' 245 lbs.
Weapons; Fists and brute strength
God of worship; Khorne.
OOC: I have since removed my character from the guild due to immature leadership.
I will still be using this character on the forums, and in-game, although I may not play Chaos, I may play Empire, but with basically the same character.

Your Character’s Name: Rika Elle
Your Actual Name: Aelly_Ssyn
Characters Basic Info: Born and raised in one of the smaller camps of the Skaeling she was one of the few women there. She had to learn to defend herself from multiple unwanted advances by many of the men in the camp. All of them considering her to be more of a trophy than part of the collective. She swore to herself that she wouldn’t let them get to her and so she worked hard to increase her strength. In doing so she also bulked herself up more than most women. In addition to learning swordsmanship skills from one of the elders she became a force to be reckoned with. Eventually the men decided to leave her alone instead of walking or crawling away with broken bones or sometimes worse.
Even though Rika was born into the Skaeling tribe. It wasn't until she beat down a couple male warriors that got the attention of Varg Valkar. The warriors were trying to have their way with Rika, but they didn't know she could defend herself. Giving one a broken nose and the other a black eye and a very tender crotch. Varg Valkar was told what happened and Rika was welcomed into the warrior caste. Much to the dismay fo the two men she had brutalized.
Age: 24
Appearance: Rika is 5'10" and 140lbs but she remains a strong and sensual looking female. She does sport a rather muscular looking body but then what Norseman doesn’t like a woman who is filled out instead of looking like skin and bones. She has platinum blonde hair that lays straight save for one portion of her hair that is braided and hangs down from her right temple area. Her hair reaches down to her shoulder blades and the braided section droops down just below her jaw line. Her eyes are like a winter frost as they are ice blue. Rika clothes herself in whatever fits the season or the temperature. In the cold she wears an animal fur that covers her chest and back in somewhat of a V shape. Exposing part of her skin on her sides, even though small leather straps criss-cross over her sides to hold the fur together. More furs also act as her britches but they don’t go past the upper portion of her thighs. She also wears fur covered boots that extend up to the bottom of her knees.
Weapons: She has a long bow (which she has mastered) that is slung across her back along with her quiver of arrows. Her only other weapons are a long and short sword set that was given to her by the elder who taught Rika her hunting and combat skills. The swords are finely crafted and exceptionally balanced. The long sword hangs at her left side while the short sword is strapped to the inside of her left boot on the left side of her calf area.
God of worship: Rika isn’t sure which if any of the Gods to follow. She likes traits in both Khorne and Slaanesh and she tends to exhibit some of these. The allure of her beauty and her love of bloodshed are the dominate traits for those two Gods.
Varg: Valkar
Schade
12-20-2005, 11:42 PM
Your Character’s Name; Clah Pusbelcher
Real Name: Schade
Characters Basic Info; The only history of relevance for Clah began 3 years ago. His fellow tribesmen were lead by their (SoC) champion to raid an empire outpost. They fell upon the town with the customary wanton rage well known to the region. This day the empire was laying in wait. They had pushed too far south and a the local lord had paid handsomely from his coffers to ensure the safety of his investments.
Clouds of smoke billowed from every open window and from knotholes in the surrounding fence. As the air cleared, and his fallen comrades were piled on him, he regained consciousness. When dusk settled and he pulled himself from the mangled decay of his brethren, Clah stumbled into the night and realized his plight. His torso had been pierced thrice in the belly by the lead of empire pistols. The journey back did not do him well. Riddled with infection when he arrived at camp he recounted the story and was immediately tossed to the hounds as a weak messenger from a failed incursion.
The hounds dragged him to their den to rend his flesh and roll in his already festering entrails. Instead they fled the den with a yelp from the packleader and its weak attempts to breath through a gaping hole in its esophagus torn with Clah’s own teeth. He spent the following 2 years as entertainment to the Sons fighting random beasts and warriors captured during their forays into empire and untamed lands. He never healed, and never succumbed to the infections in his gut.
Clah was witness as Valkar waded through the Khaaqshyek with a fury bolstered by the dark gods themselves. In that dark night his own identity was forged while crushing those who had wagered on his own death for the past few years. Though he entered that slaughter a jester, his ascension to glory under Valkar was laid before him by father Nurgle himself. Many priests within the tribe had feared what that eve eventually revealed. Father Nurgle was embracing Clah and teaching him the secrets and blessings of inner decay.
Age; Unknown, most guess 25-30
Appearance; The wounds have never healed and half of what is digested by this warrior is regurgitated on his chin or oozes through his still festering gut wounds. The links in the mail and plates covering his torso do little more than shear off scabs of old wounds and unsettle maggots. Soiled is an embarrassing understatement to describe everything about this fierce warrior.
Weapons; 1 massive rusty flail. The shaft is the hardened femur of a long dead Ogre, and the mass is two crushed Brettonian knight helms with twisted spikes driven through them.
God of worship; Nurgle
Varg: Valkar

wow heh, seems Valkars a bit popular at the moment. Hopefully we'll have some cultists and magicians arrive soon to even the numbers up a bit, don't want to give corellion too easy a job
All the characters so far seem to be fine and dandy- They can all be added to my section as soon as Corellion feels like updating the front page.

Well, aside from a few inaccuracies, all seem fine and have been added as the first original members. Well done, I would, however, like you all to specify whether you favour RPing, or gaming. And if gaming, whether you are in it mostly for the RVR, powerplaying, or the gameplaying, and role playing.
Other than that, "Alreeet?"

Well it seems like everyone’s jumping on the band wagon, including me, but as I said before im not much of a RPer and some of the characters so far are a little weird
Characters Basic Info: The son to a village chef of the Swerrg tribe. He was forced to defend his life from attackers during a feast sent by his older brother with his father’s approval to make sure that there was only one with a claim to the leadership of the village.
Seems theres going to be alot of Heir's to the Leadership of the tribe/village/throne running around, but then again im not one to spoil someone else’s fun and I might aswell give it a go (and i can guarantee my character will be as normal as a nordic tribesman can be).

Actually it won't be much of a problem with heirs and such. A new leader have taken the leadership over the village and it was only him and Asach that had any claims to the position.
Should Asach make the brillient move of returning alone he will be cut down and feed to the dogs. He isn't a super-villian/hero that can take on twenty warriors at the same time and survive. Should he bring and army with him Asach will have the king, Korgath Bloodblade with his army against him and will also be feed to the dogs; The thing is mostly whose dogs he will become food for. His half-brother's or the king's?
Don't worry about it  . Making any claims for leadership isn't a realistic or even surrealistic possibility for Asach.

We ask becuase those who are interested in RP we will be happy to share our knowledge and experience with, and hopefully gain something in return from you. We will also be more critical with characters, possibly asking for redraughts and pointing out areas that do not make sense/fit with the world. We will obviously not do this out of simple malicious want to cause trauma, but simply as an act of helping you to improve in your writing, as we hope to gain in our writing from roleplaying with you.
IF you are not interested in RP, then it obviously does not make sense for us to be heavily critical of your characters, or need much background detail for them. We are perfectly happy for people who do not wish to partake in RP to be part of our cause, as we will be equally as dedicated to stomping all over other realms faces as we are to our roleplaying side (in fact as I gain less and less time to spare it may end up that I do not spend much time roleplaying and a lot mroe time crushing skulls)

I will be the first to say I am always happy to have an ambitious chef around.
That said... Clah is only known to be blessed by Father Nurgle, his current leader is the only visible sign of strength after the bloodbath witnessed earlier. The priests have fawned over his blessings and he is still virgin to the tidings (magical or otherwise) of his patron god.
PM for sway good leaders.
Hey guys - I redid my character, same principle really - just changed things up a bit.

Your Character’s Name; Tzathiel
Your Forum Name; Sorceror.of.Tzeentch
Interested in RP? or just gaming?; both
Characters Basic Info; Born and raised in the Empire, Tzathiel always knew he was destined for great things.
From an early age, Tzathiel could alter the world around him for his gain, people he hated would become twisted vile cripples, mutating with an unearthly haste.
It was only when caught using his will on another that Tzathiel was banished from his village.
Lost, alone and hungry, Tzathiel wondered north. The road, however was treacherous, most of the time he had to flee arrow fire or a rampaging orc. Somehow, he survived. It was in the freezing Norths of Kislev that the freezing child was found by a maurader warband, weak from lack of food and the long journey.
The Maurader chieftan took the boy in, whose strange birthmark danced on his arm, as if the very will of Tzeentch had touched him. Once nursed back to health, Tzathiel was a young warrior for the warband, helping with hunting food. When in the night his warband were slaughtered by the Kislev Gryphon Legion, he fled, only to find himself in the company of Pitter Na’suieh, Valkar and his tribesmen. He then pleaded his case to them in hope of being accepted and allowed to live, hoping to learn to control his natural gifts and further train in the arts of sorcery.
Age; 23
Appearance; Thin, with shoulder length black hair, draped from head to toe in a large heavy cloak that shimmers and changes colour. He wears thick black boots and carries several pouches around his waist.
Weapons; A long sword, and a long Staff with the Tzeentchian symbol atop it.
God of worship;Tzeentch
Varg: Pitter
Hope this is worthy enough for me to join. Long Live Chaos!

Sorceror of Tzeentch, at this stage of development, I feel it might be unwise to let your character be so strong. Maybe play them down a bit, I feel that to have a character this strong is a little over-killing when we attempt to establish a quick and accurate representation of the characters in-game. Especially seeing as he is 23. Maybe lessen his power and feats, and raise his age. For the realism aspect.
Gurkhal, is there any chance you'd go through your application and put it through word's spellcheck, just to releive it of mistakes. It's a nice story, but a few spelling errors. I quite like it really.
Dulu, I like it, I'll get it up now. Other than that, I feel that everyone needs to write a little more on how they joined the guild, and what they did before that. Not for us, but for your own reference. Make a complete character profile. That is, if you're interested in RP here on the forums and ingame, otherwise, there isn't much need.
Oh, and is anyone interested in a forum role-play? There's no better way to start off getting to know each others characters.

Oh aye, forgot to mention that- these characters are meant to be at a low power level, so that when the game comes out it is a natural step to continue into game, rather than completely downgrading your character and starting again- as I've had to do that before and it can completely put you off.

There’s this little thing called a sense of humour not many people on these forums have one and where’s your christmas spirit.
Age: 24
Appearance: Rika is 5'10" and 160lbs but she remains a strong and sensual looking female.
Varg: Valkar

At the alien sound of the newcomers voice, the thin hooded man spun on his heel, his associates scuttering away into the shadow laden recesses of the alleyway, as the cultist swiftly covered the distance between himself and the stranger.
His deathly white fingers grasping the man by his shirt, the sinister man in the hooded robes pulled the intruder close, his deep emotionless eyes sucking all warmth from the stranger as they met with the widening eyes of the suddenly self-pitying meddler.
With his colourless lips drawing back over his narrow teeth in a mocking snarl, and the foul odour of his breath filling his helpless victim's nostrils, he opened his mouth in speech.
As Dulu's consciousness began to slip away into the light-headed haze of panic, the hollow voice, one drenched with all things evil and lacking even the warmth of outward malice, filled his swimming head like the suffocating stench filling his lungs, stifling his thoughts and breathing simulataneously as the dreadful words grew more and more distant.
"A word of advice for he wishing to join a chaos cult, if you wish to keep your head attached to your shoulders, do not poke it so eagerly into other peoples business."
And with a flurry of shadow and darkness, the alleyway was deserted, save for the nightmare haunted figure of Dulu, twitching on the mist covered cobblestones where he alone remained.

Grinning from underneath his thick hooded cloak, Tzathiel stepped out into the now near-deserted alley where the scene had unfolded itself before his unnoticed eyes.
"I would hope, as a warrior of Khorne, that you do not let a mere cultist get away with something like that." Commented the sorceror with slight dissaproval in his voice.
And with that he stepped out of the alleyway, his heavy cloak dancing with nightmarish images and changing colour in the wind.
OOC: Come on man! Play nice and quit power playing -_-
"Gosh damnedid gits, COMERE!" Shouted the robust man, the collar of his shirt stretched.
Beer and spit splashing from his lips and beard, Knat leans close to his attacker, matching the mans foul breath with his own.
"You thinksh Knat scur'd of you!!!" Knat asks, as he thrusts the frail robed figure back with authority.
The Khornate medallion around the brawlers neck gleams in the open, it seems to shine with a menacing glow.
Filled with rage and anger, that normal men do not know, Knat glares at his foe, with hate and fury in his eyes. Tonight, there shall be Blood for the Blood God, and Knat knows it will not be his.
With inhuman strength, Knat punches his prone opponent right in the face. Blood squirts from the withered, gaunt figure, as Knat mounts him. The next sound is the crack of the sorceror's shoulder breaking.
Knat takes the limp limb, and slaps the disoriented figure in the face with it a few times.
"You likesh that coward? You learn yourshelf good befur speaking to Knat. Ok?"
With no warning, Knat goes back to his grim task of torturing this fool - for that is what he is. What sorceror in their right mind attacks a chosen of Khorne?
Placing his large burly hands in the Bunny man's mouth, he breaks his jaw, leaving it hanging wide open.
"Hahahaha, now you looksh ash dumb ash you ish!"
Grabbing the limp arm of his prey, he forces it into his wide open mouth. The sorceror can offer no resistance, since his arm is broken, as well as his jaw. All he can do is watch in horror, as the Brawler, immune to his sorcery, takes his pathetic life.
With careful precision, and brute force, combined perfectly in this deadly delicate art of humiliation before demise, Knat shoves his victims arm down his throat with one final shove.
There is now only a hearty laughter in the darkness, as Knat has struck again.
EDIT: I normally dont power-play, but he started it.

Trust me, I wasn't powerplaying, nor was I roleplaying. I was finding an honest and realistc means to convey my message.
Don't meddle with my business boy, or you're going to get burned.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a flame, nor is it intended as a threat.
I'm not so cliched as to proclaim that it is in fact a promise, but I will say this.
Respect those wiser and more experienced than yourself, keep your nose where it belongs, speak when you are invited to speak, and then, maybe just maybe, you won't make too many of the wrong sort of enemies.
On a more helpful note, if you wish to gain a reputation of one who does not make a habit of power-playing, I suggest your character loses the title 'Chosen of Khorne'. If you need the reasoning explained to you, then you deserve the dishonour of such a reputation anyway.
Also, when roleplaying, it pays to read the posts prior to yours. As my post had left you in the unfortunate, although deserving, postion of being left alone in a deserted alleyway with no life in sight, and given your recognition of my mere cultist as a sorceror, you would realise that exacting your retribution would take more than just grabbing 'his attacker'.
Although my character, being a lowly cultist with exageratted aspirations as is fitting to low level characters, is not the uber-sorceror you implied, he is not standing right next to you whichever way you look at it, so next time, try thinking before you react.

Hmm. Let's just try and avoid something like that in future, eh? And no calling anyone a git, you were new once, too. Dulu deserves some respect, and whilst he isn't too familiar with the ways of the forum, we needn't attack him for it. Lay off my guild members. You can of course, have a friendly in-guild duel, if you were to join Rabbs.
Rabbs, your situation isn't a massive problem. Though, quite a large one, but it's not massive. If your character fits criteria, then you are free to join, all I ask is that you attempt to get internet access, even if it involves popping down to the library every second week, then at least you will be a beneficial member of the guild. Do you think you would have a better chance of playing the game than not? If you do, then join up.
Sorcerer, you're in. Though, I warn you too not to RP on the forum thread. We'll be setting up one in the RP forum soon, go there if you need to.
Snapmaster, go for it. But keep in mind, when you are just a cultist, you will not be able to preform any spells. Of course, preform well in the forum RP, or post well in the game discussion forums, and you will be promoted. Both imply strong ties to the game, your guild, and these forums as a whole.
Also, just ahead of everyone, I'd like to say that no-one is to bear any insignia of the guild on their signature. Yet. We will do something soon, as in a catchy phrase or the like. But not yet, and everyone's will be the same. With the only variation being rank.
Actually, those willing to submit a signature idea, should do so here.
Good to see a few of you are interested in doing a RP too. I'm not the best at it myself, but I enjoy it. Also, for the sake of the newer members, I will attempt to call Giggles - Spirit, though, why he ever changed is his name is beyond me. Myspacing Idiot. ;)
P.S. All of you, learn to be a little more patient.

I did not 'punk' your character, if any sort of 'punking' was going on, you'll notice I called the victim Dulu. This post was not ic, it was plain and simple you and me.
Nothing uber about it. I left the forum, and so my post ended. Like all writers, my stories actually have conclusions, unlike Roleplays, they do not need to invite response when none is wanted or needed.
I got owned? Oh dear... I'll just ignore the implications of your use of the terminology, as I'm still willing to give the you benefit of th doubt as misguided rather than a lost cause, but I will remind you that if having someone write a large post that involves his character beating you half to death without even incorporating a response of any physical, verbal or even mental nature, is considered 'getting owned' then these forums have come a long way from the days when roleplaying was encouraged and posters like you were taught not to attack people they don't know.
As for being a lousy duellist, I will remind you simply that it was not a duel, it was a single post statement that you chose to respond to in a distasteful manner, and that giggles and Corellion can vouch for me if you have any further insults to hurl at me. And yes, I am the Rabbitman that won and defended the Bonecrusher Tournament title two years running on the original forums... and I have since learnt to write.
Now my business is out there for you all to read, whether Corellion wanted it discussed here or not, apologies to you Cor, and congratulations to you Dulu, your well constructed and supported arguments have me at a loss for words...
EDIT: And you spell duelling with a double 'L' if you were intending for it to be in English.

This may be something my second character could enjoy... But I've only just rejoined the forums and I'm still getting used to RPing with the original guy. So I'll bide my time.
Barring the appearance of a pure Slaaneshi band, I'd say that you'll have yourself a warrior in the future.
"I am the Rabbitman that won and defended the Bonecrusher Tournament title two years running on the original forums..."
Ok, congrats on winning nerd of the year, two years in a row.
This beef is silly - you attacked me for no reason by even mentioning my name. All I was trying to do was help you. Go ahead and post your character or whatever already, and stop attention whoring.

Awwwww everyone’s arguing except me, I feel so left out!
I must say this has been the best start any guild has ever had.
But seriously if you guys can’t get along on a forum, how the hell are you going to deal with each other in-game.
With that said im still working on my “real” character (I know you all wanted santa), but I have been quite busy with work lately and he’ll be along shortly.

I never started a beef, I just told you where to put your suggestions.
And as for nerd of the year... take a good hard look at where you are mate.
Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics, even if you win, you're still a retard.
Besides, I have a feeling that the followers of each Varg will have a decent and bitter rivalry despite their alliance in the greater guild. How often do axebitten followers of Khorne buddy up with the guttercrawling scheming freaks of the more lore oriented gods?
The dork does have point, as well as a stupid name, but a point none the less.

Rabbitman, Dulu. Another statement or jibe from either of you, and you will have no future in this guild. You're not spamming up this thread. Dulu, whilst you're a member of this guild, act mature. Rabbs, you too, as a future member, if your character is ok.
Strike Two. Dulu especially, your first comment wasn't needed. People do have lives outside of these forums, and he was just asking.
Rabbitman, I agree, though Pitter and Valkar may co-exost peacefully, I do imagine the lower-status warriors to have increasingly harsh views of the others. However, that is strictly in character.
Unless your posts are helping this guild thread, don't post. We're up to 6 pages already! And, I've to swap all of the first pages HTML for BBcode. You guys need to take a break from posting. Calm it down. Deep breaths, in, out, in, out, just breathe.
EDIT: No worries, things are being taken care of. Can't wait to see your character Rabbs. I don't want to get rid of guild members this soon, don't be an idiot and make me make you an example of what happens to idiots, Dulu.

I haven't read any of the posts that are arguments, and I don't inted to, but if I see another one from either of you it is instant exclusion from the guild, and I will probably contact a mod to clean up the mess and possibly take further action.
I don't care if either of you feel wronged in some way, take care of it off this thread, preferably off these boards.
As for the signature, I'm not sure, I'd rather have a theme which people stuck to but which was unique, with only certain structural elements the same, such as the latin sigs of olden days.
Also anyone with artistic talent can feel free to make a guild smilie/avatar and show it to one of the Vargs, thats one of the tasks that will need doing soon.

Your Character’s Name; Tleon

Interested in RP? or just gaming?; both
Characters Basic Info; Tleon practices in the summoning of great and powerful daemons from the realm of chaos...although he has never really succeeded in doing so as of yet. But he has destroyed a few buildings in his studies. His ultimate goal is to set forth upon the world one of the four greater daemons of the choas gods, preferably in the heart of Altdorf.
Weapons; None really. Tleon tries to remain as discreet as possible.
God of worship; Tzeench

This thread is getting a little too snippy for my tastes. Lets try to not insult each other over the holidays guys... supposed to be the time of year we all get along! Also as a reminder, when a thread gets edited, its for a reason. Its generally not a great idea to immedietly start up another discussion about it. Snapmaster, whilst the profile is small, we aren't too focussed on characters at the moment, and I've seen a few posts from you about on the forums, so, welcome to the guild. ;)
Watcher7, I almost missed your post amongst the arguement. Well, feel free to post it whenever it best suits you. This thread is quickly becoming scattered and misplaced, and I urge people to post, but not do so, with such silly comments as Dulu.
Knightley, that's good. As you so wittingly commented, this is not the best of starts, but, hopefully, we shall soon get to know each other, and the cause of bickering will be dealt with.
Apologies to anyone elses post I missed, feel free to re-post. And my sincere apologies for anyone who experienced anguish due to a certain immature prat. I'm thankful the rest of you have managed to be sensible, and kept your heads. As Giggles said, anyone with any ideas about anything, feel free to PM one of us. Aelly_Ssyn has been most helpful with ideas, so, thank you to her. :)
Erm, also, please give us in the RP ideas. It's the best way for us to get to know each other, and it's good fun too. Also, if any of you have experience with web-site making, please say. I have a few ideas for some quick and ready information access, but have no skills with making websites, so, please give either myself or Giggles a shout.
Again, apologies for the guild interruption. And, Merry Christmas to you all! :D If you're not christian, then excuse my woeful ignorance and substitute it for a mere Seasons Greetings, and, if you're all drunk and merry, please refrain from posting, the language can become a little... colourful, at times. ;)
I'll update the guild thread A.S.A.P.
I wonder if there's a way Spirit can be allowed to edit that post. It's awfully annoying... him not being able to...
I might just take a forum holiday and leave everything to you Giggles, then, come back when the forums have been moved, and you'll have had to posted up the new forum page, mwuahah. Which means you have to edit it! *insert evil spine chilling cackle*

Your Character’s Name; Arthanon Dinarxus (try remembering that)
Your Forum Name; Watcher7
Interested in RP? or just gaming?; Both
Characters Basic Info; Arthanon is an Asrai rumoured to have seen the Fall of the Elven race. He is well travelled and well versed in many languages and many luxuries. He is calculating and sadistic to a tee, and will give every enemy unimaginable pleasure before introducing them to the ultimate torment.
Weapons; A double-bladed naginata (that's a spear with a wider version of a katana blade) emblazoned with exquisite Nipponese gold-leaf design, and an array of needles carrying some interesting poisons, which he uses more for fun on the battlefield than anything else.
God of worship; Slaanesh

As I said in my e-mail I would have originally planned to roleplay a brainless thug of a minion, but since the guild has been opened I am sensing a slight overbalance in Valkar's favour.
Give me a few minutes and I'll get my weedy wannabe sorceror into a profile...
EDIT: Here 'tis...
Your Character’s Name; Known as 'Brother Shadowtongue' but real name is that of his father, Nathanael Schwartz
Your Forum Name; Rabbitman
Interested in RP? or just gaming?; RP
Characters Basic Info; An Architect from the shadowed city of Nuln, hgih soceity but always frowned upon by his superior father, who lavished all attention on his cousin Ulric, a strong youth with interests in heroism and soldiery rather than books and fine arts. Poisoned his father but inheritance went to Ulric isntead, and since has spent more and more of his time in pursuits frowned upon during daylight hours. Fancies himself to be all-powerful, and will do anything to realise this fantasy.
Age; 29, but thanks to his twisted lifestyle, appears to be in late 40s.
Appearance; Pallid and bald, this man's body has been neglected for fartoo long, and although he possesses more strength than meets the eye, this isn't a difficult feat. His frame is narrow and scrawny, and his clammy white flesh seems to hang from his bones. the only colour on his entire body in the empty blackness of his eyes, and it is said that to look into the depths of these pools of darkness is to see the total oblivion within the man's soul. No concience, no warmth, nothing but doom and despair, and ambition. If looks could kill, this man would be far closer to his dream, but as it is, he relies on the fear his image creates, and the hope that one day the gods will notice his efforts and grant him more useful powers.
Weapons; His damaged mind, minions, cover of darkness and a thin serpent shaped blade that slides between the ribs of your back in the dead of night. Open combat is avoided at all costs, diseases and terror are embraced. His name in largely due to his nasty habit of combining his doom-filled gaze with insidious whisperings of pure evil, in an unnervingly pitched voice that puts any man on edge. His threats and lies are his greatest weapon of all.
God of worship; As a naive cultist in the backstreets of Nuln, the dark arts of both Tzeentch and Slaanesh have been embraced by Shadowtongue, although he knows not the names of his gods.
Varg: (i.e. Pitter or Valkar) Pitter.

Rabs you're in. Love the character!
Is there any chance you could tone your character down a little bit Watcher7? I like the description, but it's very over-powering, and we're looking for basic characters here, so that when we make the progression into the game it will be simple and easy. Maybe go for a human character? If you wish for them to be a master in languages, why not have them studied linguisitcs in Altdorf's University of Cultures, and maybe he was inducted into Pitter's Cults from there.? Other than that, cool name. Pretty sway.
I wan't to avoid any characters that joined the Sons of Chaos after they formed together. From now on, it's going to be those from the Empire, or those who Immigrated into the Empire, Humans, as Cultists. And Norse Skaeling Warriors for Valkar's tribe.
Now, as for a RP.
I need to discuss the basics with Giggles, but I was thinking along the lines of the two bands, after having met for the first time, setting up a large camp in northern kislev, when they're attacked by orcs and goblins (And a truck-load of trolls too). So, for everyone's first post, we'll rp along walking, then, battle can commence. I was thinking of having a set posting order, and also, having two promotions available, one for Valkar's Warriors, and another for Pitter's Cultits, both to chosen. Thus, the best RP'd part from each denomination will attain one promotion, chosen by Giggles and Myself, respectively. Or, perhaps, maybe the guild can vote for who they think preformed the best. Voting for themselves being a viable option, if they thought they preformed better than the rest.
I don't know, Giggles, what do you think?
Knightley
12-25-2005, 07:23 PM
Thus, the best RP'd part from each denomination will attain one promotion
Im not sure I like where your going with that……
Seems like your playing favourites with people who can fake the best story, if this was a book club I’d be all for it, but the fact is this is a MMO and if you start promoting people and give them a higher ranking position before the game even comes out, your looking for trouble.
Now im not going to tell you how to run your guild nor am I going to disrespect your decisions and who’s to say I’ll be apart of your guild. Maybe if I was an RPer I might have had a different opinion on the matter and remember this is just my opinion.
Just one more thing, after reading the last post it raised the little question of how much experience do you two have with MMORPG’s?
Oh and Merry Christmas.

Firstly, thie guild will be both an RP guild and a RvR guild, so some people will be promoted based on RP talent, and others based on their ability to lead, and how trustworthy they are in general.
Secondly the position of chosen does not give you the right to look down on others and treat them as slaves. The mark of the chosen is not one of authority within the guild, it is more a mark of excellence- those who perform well become chosen- those who we wish to grant authority become the champions of Valkar and Pitter- think of these as your "officers" if you will. While there will be perks of being chosen, we will reserve the gift of authority to specific people, and in moderation.
Cor, the RP idea is good, but I think promotions should be left to a later date, I don't want to start promoting people left right and center.

12-26-2005, 10:55 AM
Aye. Aye. You raise a valid point Knightley, and I hope Giggles' answer was alright for you, he's right though, and so are you. Things need to be done in moderation, and for me, the most important thing about a MMORPG, is the RP. Thus, I thought a promotion would be fun, just as an opening title for the guild really. Not that those posting out on the other forums are being ignored.
As for experience, well, Giggles has it all... really. I've played a bit, but when it comes to running a MMORPG Guild, well, I'm a newbie, though, I know enough about game mechanics and the like to get along.
Knightley, you sure do seem full of intelligence, is there anyway, either myself or giggles could entice you into joining, other than being patient, and playing out the information slowly being given to us. And when I say slowly, I mean, "Damn that super-sonic snail was fast" slowly.
Alas, christmas takes it toll on my sanity....

Any roleplay that you come up with will be welcomed! Just be warned that being a powerless architect in an insane quest for ultimate power, Serpenttongue is really going to struggle to hold his own when removed from the alleyways and sewers, and if the enemy is an alien race, his serpenttongue is likely to bew useless too. I don't mind, but just be warned i'll end up roleplaying him to be yet more bitter and twisted if he is forced to appear weak in-front of his new cult... especially if shown-up by axe-weilders, who would only remind him of his father's opinion of cousin Ulrics greater value to society...

1) Unfortunately that would be impossible, due to the fact that Malal hates Chaos...he hates everything.
2) For now the boards run on a PG13 level, so anything that you think could fit up to there- as a basic rule, hints and mentions are ok but graphic detail isn't. As for in game it will depend on the rating Mythic gives the game.
Glad to see you.

I think I did say I would join you and ive been trying to make a character (even thought I have no interest in RPing) in my spare time, but due to my love of fluff ive been wondering if it’s possible to have a character that lives within a Kurgan or Hung tribe? If not would it be possible to originate from one of these tribes? (i.e. a man born within the Kul of the Kurgan’s that has travelled to the Norse lands)
And does anyone know where I can find more information on the dark tongue?

Knightley, there is a small bit to do with the dark tongue, or ancient tongue, or language of magic, in an old Warhammer Monthly. I'll find out more about it for you. Other than that, google it. As for the character idea, well, say a warband of the kul got butchered by Valkars, and you found your way into his service.
And people can of course freely sign up to the GT, whether your confident in your skills or not. All I can say is, type up your duel's in microsoft word, and you're pretty much affirmed a place in the second round, unless your opponent is semi-comptetent.

Characters Basic Info:
His is the tale of one who either possessed of the greatest luck imaginable, or blessed by the Gods from the beginning. The latter seems more likely, for in a world like his, luck plays little part in affairs. Aqshyash was born not in some tribe, not in the Empire, but born in the heart of the northlands, in the wilderness and snow of a harsh winter. His tale begins with the pregnancy of his mother, an unimportant person in a tribe of Norscans, who was abused by a tribesman, and made to carry his child. Being of small size, and slight build, she could hardly defend herself from him, one of the chosen fighters of the tribe, and revered by the others for his skill on the battlefield.
Her name was Freya, and she hated him so. For months she endured his endless torture, and abuse of her, his drunken fits of rage after a feast, and his unwanted attention at the very worst of times. He spat insults at the child that was to be, and did all in his power to try and undo the boy within Freya. A week before she was due to deliver the child, Freya ran, and never looked back, hoping that the monster she had left behind would not notice until the child had been born. Her hopes ran in vain, as did she. Weighed down by the baby, and exhausted from three days running, she eventually collapsed from it, and was caught by her enraged partner. As a follower of the Blood God, the man could not be staved off by the weakened Freya, and was eventually butchered there and then. The symbol of Khorne was marked upon her chest, so that her weak life may be offered to his God, and the man left, sickened by the sight of such a weak individual. In the eyes of a follower of Khorne, weakness is a sin.
Although they had slashed her throat, and mutilated her once, beautiful figure, Freya found herself still alive as they walked away, and burning with pain. Most of it came from the mark that had been carved into her chest… the Mark of Khorne. In her last breaths, she managed to successfully deliver the child, but died as the baby took its first gulps of air. Drenched in the blood of its mother, the baby should have died within the first hours of birth with absolutely no one to care for it, but it seems the Gods smiled upon him. A wolf happened upon the child, weakened by starvation, and ready to feast. Instead of going for the fresh meat of the mother, which was tainted by the Mark of Khorne, it attempted to take a chunk out of the child, but collapsed before it could devour him, its vicious teeth closing over the umbilical cord that attached him to his mother, and freeing him.
From then, he… lived. How it could be described save for that is difficult, to say the least. After a good many years living off what few scraps existed in the harsh wastes of the north, the lad came across his home tribe, without knowledge of it. Able only to speak the dark tongue, he was revered as a messenger of the Gods and – having been soaked with blood from the recent kill of some prey - he was believed to have been sent by Khorne himself. His father, unknowing of the relationship, handed him his axe… It was a fine weapon in its own right, but unfortunately for his father, the, now revered, messenger was given the distinct direction to fight the father in combat by an ethereal voice. Explaining this to the local sorcerer, a paltry man with barely any skin on his bones, and less power in the arts, the man went white, and told the father. The father’s face hardened, confident that he could beat the young man, whether sent by the Gods or not, and convinced that it was a test of his true power. Despite his son’s physical appearance, of a hulking man with muscles fit for two men, and eyes the shone crimson, he took back the axe, and attacked.
Little can be said of that fight, it was over in an instant. The axe, which was so large it had to be held in both the father’s hands, was sent into a deadly descent, which would have split the young boy in two, crashed harmlessly into the earth, shattering the dry ground and throwing up flecks of soil. Before the warrior had time to react, or even raise his axe again, Aqshyash’s right hand had ripped out his throat, and the man devoured it. Blood drenched him as his father slumped onto his shoulder, and stained now with the blood of both his parents, he came to a realisation. However, he was…. Unsympathetic to the conclusion, and when asked his name by the sorcerer, he replied: ‘Aqshyash’ meaning blood in the dark tongue. Taking his father’s axe as a trophy, he challenged any others to fight him, with his newly acquired weapon, stating that he had never used a weapon of ‘mortal creation’ before. One man stepped up, the current chieftain. After a long, hard-fought battle, Aqshyash again prevailed. The Tribe honoured him with a feast and asked for him to lead them into glory, but the hulking man declined.
After this night, tales of the event spread across the tribes with much enthusiasm. Many were captivated by the idea of him being Khorne incarnate, and some were foolish enough to believe it. However, when news of it reached the ‘Vargs’ of the ‘Sons of Chaos’, they took it, not as a sign of Khorne walking upon the earth, but as a powerful ally to have on their side. Valkar departed to find Aqshyash, and when he finally did, extended the invitation to him in person. When asked what the terms of this invitation were, two of Valkar’s underlings rushed him, and were met with swift deaths at his hands. Unsatisfied with the result, Valkar demanded to see his skill with an axe, and brought another to fight… a very powerful subordinate of the Varg.
Aqshyash’s skill with the blade was far from outstanding, and he lost to the warrior, but was spared his life. When asked what his goals were, Aqshyash had but one humble quest in mind: ‘I wish to wield the weapon that my father did with greater skill than he.’ Though deadly with his bare hands, the time embarked for Aqshyash to heft the mighty axe of his father, which he had named ‘Aqshyash Dhaos’… Blood Demon.
Satisfied with the response, Valkar welcomed the mighty warrior. Though little better than a youngling with an axe, Aqshyash would, in time, become a mighty warrior with his axe… and for now, his animalistic bare-hand fighting could save him from death.
He has, since that time, also acquired a Zwei-hander… a mighty blade designed to be used in both hands, and with the power to spilt armour in a single blow. Aqshyash’s goals lie in the perfection of Axe wielding and Sword-Fighting. And the ‘Sons of Chaos’ have agreed to further this goal to the best of their ability.
Age:
It is not entirely known, even to the man himself, but he knows that he less than thirty years of age.
Appearance:
Aqshyash is a looming man, and built like the mammoths that the Norsecans occasionally ride into battle. Very tall at 6’4” he would hardly be considered inconspicuous, and with muscles fit for two men normally, his body has been honed by decades living on his own and against the wild. A few scars mar his body as trophies of his more impressive kills, the most evident being one that runs up his right forearm, curving to meet his elbow, and then stop. He wears fur trousers, and no shirt or vest of any kind. His boots are made from the hardened leather of a wild boar that seemed slightly mutated, so the leather is that much thicker and stronger than most. He also wears a long, grey, fur cloak that was made from the pelt of his first wolf kill, back when he was but five years of age. It was too big for him then, and only now does it bear any ‘normal’ length, reaching his ankles. Its front claws help to keep it across his shoulders by an iron chain, which he took from the flail of an incensed Norsecan, that goes through the ‘palms’ of the wolf’s paws. The head of the wolf was removed, as it caused some difficulties when the teeth started ripping up his back when he was younger.
Although no longer stained with blood, he still has an ominous look to him, and although he can now speak the common tongue, he still uses the dark tongue more often than not… especially when he does not want the others listening. Even the sorcerers, who are practiced at the language, find it hard to keep up with his fluent speech. His hair was recently cut to being a normal length, the fringe barely touching his eyebrows, and black as night in colour. He has a slight beard, which he keeps manageable, but not long by any means. Closer to stubble than a proper beard, it looks quite good, and has attracted the attention of a few women in his time.
Although he is quite a handsome man, his face seems to carry a look of discontentment most of the time, and most women know not to get on the bad side of someone his size. Therefore, women rarely approach him, though he does know how to interact with them without acting the fool. A belt keeps his brown trousers in place, made from the same leather as his boots, a very dark brown, edging on black themselves. A loop on the right side holds his massive axe at his side, barely even slowing him down, though he normally keeps it in hand. It may be heavy, but he can carry it in one hand easily enough, if not fight with it. His Zweihander, however, is kept across his back with no scabbard. It is kept in place by a hidden loop on the inside of his cloak, and he has practiced many times to ensure it does not tear the wolf’s pelt when he takes it out. Little else can be said of the man; save for that he bears no insignia of any God, although the symbol of undivided is etched into the thick wooden haft of ‘Aqshyash Dhaos’…
Weapons:
A massive two-handed battle-axe made of black iron that he named ‘Aqshyash Dhaos’, the Blood Demon, as well as his massive Zweihander that he named ‘Khadhar’phak’ or Nightfall. Aqshyash has all but abandoned his hand-to-hand fighting techniques, so that he may become a great Swordmaster and Axe Warrior.
God of worship:
Undivided, all in equality, none in excess.
Varg:
Valkar, the Warrior Lord of the ‘Sons of Chaos’ as he has promised to make Aqshyash a better warrior than he is now, and with the abandoning of his hand-to-hand fighting – his main strength- he will need the help.
OOC:
Now, I realise he sounds completely overpowered, but that’s why there’s the two weapons there.
He can barely use them, which means he’s slow and stuff like that…
And he never uses his bare hands anymore.
And in regards to their weight.., well, all norsecans are naturally strong anyway…
Well, the idea I'm trying to get across is that's he just a warrior who's learning to use his weapons... I think that's clear enough

I deleted my last post as ive finished my character. Anyway this is the first time ive written a character so I hope you like it.
Your Character’s Name: Azhar
Your forum Name: Knightley
Interested in RP?: Or just gaming? Gaming, although im willing to give the RPing ago.
Character’s Basis Info: Azhar was once a clansman of the mighty Khazag tribe of the Kurgans, although he doesn’t remember much of his life within the Khazags, he does faintly remember the day he departed them as it was the first time he had ridden with the tribes horsemen, but this was to be the last time he would fight along side his fellow tribesmen as they were heading north to battle in a tribal war with the Avags.
He did not remember the battle as such, only moments that barely lasted a heartbeat, visions of the horsemen charging, then the sudden feeling of solitude and loneliness. There was no evidence of the battle ever taking place and a heavy fog set in. It was at this point one memory burnt its self into his mind, a memory which can only be described as a moment of clarity.
What he believed he saw were creatures of unworldly beauty and grace. Seduced by these mysterious creatures he followed them through the wastes that lay before him for what seemed to be an eternity. As he followed he heard sounds of laughter and the very essence of pleasure. And then as if his energy was being sapped from him, he could feel the tiredness and fatigue draw upon him, exhaustion set in as he collapsed into the muddy ground and then darkness closed in and claimed him.
When Azhar regained consciousness he awoke with a faint chill across his chest and the smell of burnt flesh, in a fit of panic he started tearing at the worn leather armour that had adorned his torso and as if someone had struck him with a branding iron the mark of Slaanesh lay slightly smouldering in the centre of his chest.
After calmness grasped Azhar he realised he was no longer in his home land, standing up he examined the surrounding area, he spotted a large camp and before he could even think his body willed him towards this new camp. At first he stumbled and then motioned into a walk moving slowly towards the settlement swaying slightly across the ground as if it was the first time he had ever used his legs.
When he reached the camp he continued towards the largest caravan he could see and he quickly noticed the crowd of people gathering around him, as he neared his intended destination he reached the bottom of some steps, at which a giant of a man stood gazing down at Azhar.
And again his body took over and Azhar dropped to his knees, before he could even gather a thought he looked up at the imposing figure, hundreds of memory’s pulsed through his mind in a mere instant, his eyes fixed upon the figure before him and announced “Valkar, Lord of the Skaeling I am Azhar, I am yours to command”.
Age: 22
Appearance: Azhar is considered to be quite small for a Northman, although he considers himself to be lean and nimble, relying on his speed and wits over raw power to overcome his foe. He’s roughly 6ft and weighs around 180 lbs, he has raven black hair which sleekly runs to the base of his neck, his eyes are emerald green which are darkened due to the taint of his skin.
Weapons: Azhar has never favoured any single weapon and tends to take the deadliest weapon he can lay his hands upon, although he does prefer one-handed swords.
God of Worship: Slaanesh
Varg: Valkar
OOC: I tried to keep it has basic as possible without losing the essence of who he is.

It is turn-based, to an extent. It's easier taking it in turns, though, If you feel like posting, then do so.
I'm working on the RP at the moment, Schade, are you wanting to post? You've disappeared matey, you know, I think some MSN Adress swapping could go a long way in aiding this guild.

Im glad you like it, even though I feel I should of added a bit more information on his current state of mind, than just a back round story. But if you read between the lines its all there.
As for the role play I think I’ll wait for the right moment to enter (basically a point which coincides with his story) and as I said before im not very experienced with role playing and it doesn’t interest me much, but I do feel its important to take part if only to “socialize” with the guild.

Schade seems to be fairly inactive... Knightley is biding his time, he's probably watching the eyes of a hawk. Not through the eyes of a hawk, but apparantly there's a hawk-murderer about, who sends his warrior-pidgeon to kill people. Knightley is staring it down. Good lad.

Characters Basic Info; Gotthard Von Stoheim was the youngest son of Baron Richter Von Stoheim, Burgeomeister of Wolfenburg. He was always in the shadow of his favoured elder brother, Marijan, to whom his fathers title and estates were set to pass upon the death of the ageing noble. Where Gotthard was attractive, Marijan caused women to swoon at his passing. Where Gotthard was intelligent, Marijan engaged the greatest scholars of the city in scientific and philosophical debate. Anything Gotthard could do, Marijan could do better, and this bred resentment on Gotthards behalf. It was on Gotthards eighteenth birthday, when his father failed to attend the family party, for a hunting trip with Marijan, that Gotthard unknowingly opened his mind to powers who would accept his loyalty. That night, a whisper entered his dreams, telling him of the power and respect available to him, if he only embraced Chaos as his master. Gotthard was taught from an early age the evil of Chaos, and denounced the dark gods, and cast the thought from his mind.
Each night that week, the whisper returned to him in his sleep, and each time Gotthard denied the gods his servitude. Watching from afar, and seenig this as a challenge to Her authority, Zarakynal, Greater daemon of Slaanesh, dispatched her servants in the name of her Lord, to turn Gotthard to Slaanesh. During the day, Gotthard was assailed by a cacophony of daemonic babble, while his sleep was plauged by images of himself at the head of legions of warriors, unlimited power his to command. He found keping a public face increasingly difficult as these visions wore away his sanity. Each night he would find comfort with the harlots of the town, travelling discuised in a heavy cloak.
It was on one of these visits, in the north slum district, that Gotthard was waylaid by a group of ruffians, who bound him and carried him to the basement they used as a hide. Baron Von Stoheim, having commited his term to fighting and eradicating Chaos cults within Wolfenburg, had gained the hadred of many displaced would-be cultists, who were eager for revenge by any means possible. Unbeknownst to Gotthard, it was one of of these groups who kidnapped him, hoping to hold him to ransom. As Gotthard sat in the darkness, bound to a chair by rusty chains, and tortured by his captors, the voices of daemons again began pervading his thoughts.
Five days into his ordeal, he learned of his the ransom from Artekus, the leader of the cultists, and hope was restored to him that he would be freed. The whisperings receded.
On the ninth day of captivity, Artekus came to him with news of a terrible sort. Baron Von Stoheim had refused to pay a ransom, and as such, Gotthard was to be killed and sent to his father piece by piece. At this, the daemons returned to Gotthard, offering him a last chance of salvation. In total dispair, Gotthard accepted their offer, and as the cultists approached him, the chains binding him loosened, and with a life of their own, lashed at his assailants, lashing them and tripping them. Gotthard leapt to his feet, jumping on them one by one and using the chain to strangle them. Surveying the dead, Gotthard drew a ceremonial dagger from the belt of Artekus and began skinning each one. He received a vision of his destiny from his Mistress, Zarakynal, and through her, Slaanesh.
While Zarakynal and Slaanesh see potential in the ex-noble, they feel, until he proves himself further, his life is more of a game against the other gods.
Changing his name, Gotthard left the Empire, heading north towards the fabled chaos wastes. Along the way, he engaged in all manner of exesses; drugs, s, murder, and many others, carving a trail of death and perversion in the name of his Lord Slaanesh, and christening himself 'the idolator'.
Age; 'Gotthard' is 20 years of age.
Appearance; Gotthard was attractive, and as Hespeth, has taken this to an extreme level, far surpassing his brother. It is said this was part of his pact with Slaanesh, for Gotthard desired supremacy over Marijan above all other things. His face is thin and sharp, and his hair is golden and light, reaching just past his shoulders. He is about 6', carrying himself as a noble is trained to do. During his captivity, the cultists brought it upon themselves to remove his right eye, and his tongue. With his embracing of slaanesh, his tongue has regrown and his eye has regained sight, although it is now prone to turning completly black during any exess he might engage in, while his tongue can protrude at least a foot from his head, whipping around much like a snakes, or releasing only a fraction, that he might pass among men unnoticed.
His body is characteristically slim, and clothed in fine silks he has aquired over his path of destruction. He wears a cloak made from the skin of the origional cultists he killed. Around his shoulders, he has sewn their distended faces, while the skin that scrapes along the ground is constantly replaced by his latest victims. His arms and torso are adorned with leather straps and buckles, which when removed, are used to bind victims if he decides to give them a slow death.
Weaponns; Hespeth is armed with a long chain which he claims is infused with daemonic energy. The fact fact that it is delicate and light, where once it was rusty and thick, does nothing to dispel his claim. This he uses as a great weapon, swinging it about his head, or ensnaring opponents legs. He calls this Slaath'kar, the literal translation of lash of pleasure in the dark tongue.
At his belt is the dagger Styr'kynal. This is a homage of sorts to Zarakynal, to whom Hespeth feels he owes his life. The dagger is about 1 1/2 foot in length, and slightly curved. The hilt is richly decorated with sigils of Slaanesh. These were once marks of the Blood god that Artekus worshiped, but have since shifted to Hespeth's patron.
God of worship; slaanesh
Varg: (i.e. Pitter or Valkar); pitter

Either way, I hope you'll enjoy yourself here.
Now, onto buisness.
After the Loathsome Rats, which I intend to be short, we will be holding two more RP's. Seperate ones, one for Valkar's Warriors, anothers for those of Pitter's Priesthood. Basically, these are the conclaves that each leader will take to describe the aims and aspirations to you all, IC.
It is also there to give you all some more RPing to do, so you can slow down and give me a chance to do my coursework whilst co-runnning this guild.
P.S. Giggles, stop being lazy. When we get a new thread, you're posting up the roster. We can alternate if you'd like. ;)

Nice to hear it get even more RP. Anyhow, will there be a formal turn of order in which order person will post? That would make things alot easier for keeping the system going.

01-14-2006, 12:19 PM
Giggles is lazier though. Most definately.
Your opinions though. Do you people want to RP a seperate, non-keeping character, for the Conclave at the Summit of your opposite Varg.
Aelly, as an example, would you mind using Rika in Valkar's Summit, and another non-important character at Pitter's Summit. Just incase anyone has questions about the direction of either Varg's Aspirations.
Aelly_Ssyn
01-14-2006, 12:25 PM
Umm...i think I'm confused. lol Let me see. You would like for me to play an NPC as well as Rika?
Corellion
01-14-2006, 12:33 PM
Not just you, but everyone, just for one RP.
See, my aim for the two RP's, is to enlighten people for the short-term aims of both Valkar and Pitter. Thus, for people to have a chance to question both what Valkar is talking about, and Pitter, it makes sense for them to attend both RP's. Of course, everyone only has 1 character, so, if they have a question to pose for either Varg, they can do so using either their character, or if the question is for the other varg, an NPC.
Of course, this is all IC.
Aelly_Ssyn
01-14-2006, 12:37 PM
Oh ok. SO since both Vargs are having seperate meetings you want to make sure everyone has a chance to find out for themselves what each Varg is doing? Sounds interesting. The only draw back might be if one or the other segments of the guild have "other" plans. People would have to make sure they don't use the knowledge of their NPC character to help their actual character.

We all respect you as a long term member of these forums, and a formiable ninja-fu artist too, so don't be upset when you 'attempt' to murder us in our sleep. Actually, at this moment in time, you're answering to me. So, I order you, to roundhouse kick Giggles in the face.
Alright. Giggles, get to me on MSN, I'd need to get those RP's up A.S.A.P.
If another person posts on The Vile Ratmen, I'll eat an apple.
I know. Amazing, huh?
So yeah, NightHaunter, do you have an MSN address I can contact you with? Aelly, download MSN. Everyone else, we do need ways of contacting you. Infact, I'll add that to the form now. Xanfel is the only person who's managed to do as he's told. I think.
Anything else? Hmm.
<center>A LIEUTENANT POSITION IS UP FOR GRABS!</center>
Not really, but I needed to draw attention from you damn post skimmers. Basically, I want everyone to give myself and giggles some ideas on where to go, after the two warbands have met together. In the big conclave thing. But OOC, on here.
I will state however, that promotions are always available, and if myself and Giggles see fit, you'll be promoted. Right now, I think we are in the foundation stages of the biggest chaos guild that will be present within the game. Thus, those who show a commitment should be rewarded. I'll Ninja-Kick that Emo Moose untill he gives in, if he decides to argue. Which he wont. Because in a flurry of posting, you are all about to show your support for me and my ideas.
Sorry if it seems like I'm picking on you Giggles. But you need whipping into shape, and you need to talk more. :!:

Your Character’s Name; Kias Al'kay
Your Forum Name; Kias
Interested in RP? or just gaming?; RP
Characters Basic Info; Kias Al'kay was once a man of the empire, but that seems to long ago to be relevant. Perhaps it was a few months, a few years, or more that has passed, but the concept of time was a silly idea to begin with. Still, since I am fairly young to the world of Chaos, I will recall what I can of my past.
From what I can remember of the empire's man, he enjoyed a great deal of, what most referred to as, vices. Vices, sins, a good time, it all depended on who was doing the talking, but that is not important. This man was a scholar, of sorts, who taught language at one of the less established institutions of the empire. Most of his clients were petty merchants children, with the occasional noble(in title only) or "wealthy" peasents who wished to better themselves. In his community, even that is hard to recall now, he was a respected man despite what he did in his free time. It was the face he showed to the students that the community saw, and people will generally see what they desire to see.
Somewhere along the way, this empire man was introduced to someone very interesting. Suffice it to say it was during one of his excursions, and the identity of the speaker is of no real importance to this particular story. They spoke in great detail of four powerful gods, different from those taught by the empire zealots. Over exotic wine, in a quiet room filled with smoke and sweat, this man learned of a bloodthirsty god called Khorne. He was intrigued by the cunning changer of ways known as Tzeentch. He was disguisted by the foul abomination known as Nurgle.
And finally, the speaker smiled to this man and said, "And then there is the fourth god, the young Prince of Chaos known as Slaneesh."
Other words were spoken after that, but none seemed of any importance. Just the word, the way the letters moved together in his mind and the sound that rolled off his lips, "Slaneesh." After that night, that one beautiful word, perfection as only a man of language could understand, intoxicated his every thought. Upon speaking the word, he could almost envision the wonder that was Slaneesh, though only fleetingly.
From then on, that divine beauty is all that I can clearly recall. Events took place, and I found myself in cohorts with the followers of a man named Pitter Na'suieh. When I joined his service, I had a name that was dull, lacking, and sorely human. It was when I was asked my name, to be added to the ranks of Pitter's cultists, that I recieved my first gift from the chaos lords. A voice... so beautiful it is painful to recall... spoke softly in my mind. "Your name, is Kias Al'kay."
I now seek to gain the favor of my patron god, while exploring the incomprehensible beauty that is Chaos. Artist spend their entire lives trying to capture the feelings of the human mind, yet in the Chaos wastes these feelings take physical forms and move across the land. Hatred, love, greed, jealousy, nobility, and most of all, survival, combine in a magnificent work of art that no human hand can duplicate. Through my writing, I try and capture what I see in these wastes, so that others may glance upon a fraction of the pure wonder that is Chaos. I will serve my Prince, by preserving my chronicles of Chaos in the purest form of human beauty, the written word.
To do this, I need strong allies and I have chosen to stay with Pitter's group even after this alliance with these... tribesmen. Though as it stands now, our numbers have dwindled and whether I remain in these ranks is yet to be seen...
Age; 21
Appearance; The man who stands before you now, niether tall nor short with a decievingly lithe figure, is clothed in what remains of his teacher's Cloak. A suit of fine leather fits snugly to his body and a backpack heavy with writing utensils and books rests on his shoulder. Fleeing and exile have not been kind, but it has toned this body to endure the trials that lie ahead. The non-descript brown hair and hazel eyes make him stand out amongst the other, more aesthetically stunning followers of his exotic god. However only fools think Beauty is limited to the human form. And experiance shows that the Chaos lords delight in teaching harsh lessons to those who will not see for themselves.
Weapons; As a teacher, the martial ways are all new to young Kias. An unadorned shortsword purchased before the mad flight into exile hangs at his right, and several daggers are tucked throughout his long cloak. In his time among Pitters followers, he has learned a basic understanding regarding the chaotic winds of magic, and grows more confident in his abilities with each passing day. A precious blank tome, made to survive long after the master has perished, is perhaps his most powerful weapon. Page by page, Kias fills this tome with knowledge garnered in his travels. Only a fool thinks any blade has more power than knowledge.
God of worship; The Prince of Chaos, Slaneesh
Varg: (i.e. Pitter or Valkar) Pitter
(OOC: I am looking for a mature, competative and organized RP guild and I hope that this is it. Good to be with you all. Considering we still have a good year or more to go until we get our first taste of WAR, some muffins would be great.
Oh and... *pulls an empty cookie bag from his cloak* these were, uhh, lying out when I first stopped by... Even the minions of Chaos can't resist good cookies. It is one of the less talked about perks of conquering the Empire...
Any word on getting together a webpage sometime soon? Always improves the chance of a guild(especially one that has to wait this long for their game) to stick together when we have a "www." to call home.
