please tell me they are adding a tool to ignore a persons entire account instead of just one char. So many times they log to a diff guy and cont. to spam or w/e they were doing.

I so hope so as well, /ignore was my friend in WoW. I have not heard or read anything about it, but I am sure it will be there given that it's not that hard to implement and it's pretty much considered standard in all MMOs now.

yeah hopefully it locks out their entire account and not just one of their guys.

While were at it, why not have friends lists be account based as well. Guild Wars is the only game I remember playing where both friend/ignore were account based. I liked it very much. Its also good for alt friendly games, which WAR looks like one.
/ignore is a very old concept so it will be in game for sure(actually I am having trouble thinking of an mmo that didn't have it), the question is how will it be implemented

yup actually having it account based makes sense for both the friends and ignore list, i can't really think of any major downside to it, after all only one person is suppose to have access to that one account. (although we know this is going to be FAR from the truth)
I just hope they make the ignore list a little bigger then the WoW one, not that I expect to fill it up fast, but over time i think most people will end up filling it.
Lotro has account based friend list, and Ignore list was same on your every charcter but I don't think it ignored the whole account, but there wasn't that problem because Lotro community was so good : D If you had to ignore someone it was because some random OOC spam.

my only concern is you need some way 2 ask someone to unignore you if they do it and forget.
this actually happened 2 me in wow a few times when people were new and dumb players ignored me and then at lvl 40+ when we were in groups for stuff and they couldnt hear me and didnt relise why i kicked them out of the group for wiping us multiple times and not listening.
IMO anyone who ignores you, you should know who it is, so at least you can ask them why.
they also need some mechanic to let you send them a message even pre programed ones like "hi just curious why your ignoring me"IMO you should give somone a reason if you are going to ignore them. not just be a D#$% about it

/gignore. please. I hate when you get those @$$hat guilds that spam your guild trying to poach members. every few hours "<XXX> would you like to join <XXX> guild? your guild is bad, and your members just do <XXX>. <XXX> guild is realy good, and will help you gear up". and if you ignore one guy, they keep spamming you with other members! i mean, realm pride is good and all, but some guilds just aren't worth the time, except to ignore, and searching a list and ignoring one at a time sucks.

I hope they don't do account based friends lists, i sometimes just like logging an alt and getting away from everyone.

nice idea ;)
off-topic : I had my ignore list empty in wow , then someone mentioned 'dirge' and the spam started : I put anyone who mentioned it on ignore and had 127 on my ignore list within 30 mins , such a great tool to find all the spoons on a server quite quickly.
