What exacly are the Tome of Knowledge?

I wonder, what exacly are the Tome of Knowledge? I don't really understand what it is?

Can someone describe to me what it is or give me a link where i can read about it? Can't really find anything usefull on this forum.

The tome of knowledge is a really detailed personal in game journal, basically. You don't write it though. The game does. You just play and it records all that you do. What monsters, deaths, clicks on yourself, really EVERYTHING. It rewards you for reaching milestones and also challenges you to reach more milestones. It'll reward you for killing 5 or 10 of a creature and you'll see 8 other boxes after them to unlock. You'll get a tome unlock for entering an area for the first time, or getting to a part of the world few venture or few survive. The Tome of Knowledge is an achievements system, a quest journal, a stats tracker and a storyteller all rolled into one.

Tome isn't plural, by the way.

It's a book, that holds the story of your character. It holds everything, it's a living book that even hints you or gives you things as well.

It's awesome.
