King Kong

Saw the movie yesterday. I'm a great fan of its first version, so I had been anticipating this for quite a while.
I think Peter did a great job, except for one major point. He tried to put too much unnecessary action in it. I mean, the insects really are going over the top. And I didn't particulary like that lame stampede either.
Anyway, it's still the saddest love story out there, in my opinion. :)
So what did other people think?

I wasn't too impressed myself. The CGI other than kong and New York wasn't too impressive, especially the stampede as you say. I thought it was too long, with too many unnecessary action parts. Other than that though, I thought it was well shot and the script was fairly good. You could see Jack Black was trying to act, but failing somewhat. Star of the film was Kong though, incredibly realistic and believable.

i havent seen it, but i must say, if i do see it i wont be complainging about unnecessary action lol

the action is the only reason i want to see it. i couldnt care less about a huge ape that falls in love with a woman. hello bestiality.

just give me the action scenes and ill be fine.

There isn't that much of that stuff anyway Micah, literally about two and a half hours of running from danger, right into more peril.

Yeah, it was pretty action packed alright! Fast paced and with great special effects! I don' t think it was overdone, I reckon all the action made it the best monster film I've ever seen actually! A really well done film. My one problem with it was that there were too many slow motion scenes, it really can make you dizzy, lol!

I really liked King Kong... great movie in my humble opinion.

Perhaps a bit too much action, I can agree to that... But I loved the bugs. The most hilarious death ever - Guy with Machette...

Aside from that... Kong took to long to die... Damn inconsiderate ape! How long can you bloody hold onto a damn building with smooth edges for! Grrrrrr...

lolz I thought the movie was absolutley awesome :D There was so much humour in it and the action was cool as all in all its a movie I would happily buy on DVD, just to laugh at the funny bits. And btw judging a mvie by how good its CG is is pretty shallow to me:P

It wasn't blaringly fake and it was cool. Leave it at that.

Meh. Just watched it. I have to say, those bugs creeped me out big time. I hated insects before I saw the movie, and now...I hate them even more. Nasty little buggers. Bah.

The movie was ok, lots of action. Bit too much, in my opinion. But still, I'd reccomend it to other people, as it was an ok movie. I'm also proud to add I smiled when the stupid ape finally died. Unlike my pal, who cried.

I think unfortunatley due to time constraints I'm going to have to see this one on video. Still, I'm looking forward to it.
