For anyone that has played during the gamedays ... Are there Spread heals in WAR?
For me the spread heals took away much of the skill in playing a healer in DaoC... there are sort of mindless and I think overpowered. I prefer the "active" direct heals and HOTs as they require direct interaction.
Party "fixed amount" heals are good, however healing each person for differing amounts based on their health loss is something that I think requires much less skill. I also thought it countered the effectiveness of DOTs too much in DaoC.

Spread heals like group and AoE heals?
The new Zealot tree masteries included one focusing on AoE damage/heals, so I feel confident saying AoE heals are in. As far as "everyone in your group is healed X" I have no idea.

Spread Heals was introduced for Healers to be viable in RvR during Keep attacks.
Because of the walls and the multiple stories, your group would often end up all over the place, which is normal. It then became a pain in the to heal people s they got Spread Heal in, which is basicaly a Group Heal which ignores line of sight and will heal all your allies in a Sphere aroune you. BUT this was costing MUCH more mana and healing LESS then Group Heal.
This was for emergency use only and if the keep battles are like in Daoc, I really hope for the poor Healers they have a Spread Heal ability. When defending a Keep, the Healer would run all over the place to heal his people, Rez the dead over the wall, try to rest to get some mana back, renewing buffs, rinse and repeat. It must be the class which was ALWAYS doing something during a Keep defense/Offense. I luved it personnally and I played my Clerics for years.
So yeah as the opposite to the OP, I do hope they have a spread heal in.
*Edited* cuz I cant spell when am still half asleep

I think this is more in the realm of the melee healers, as they require spread heals so they can still heal and be offensive still whilst on the frontlines.

Oh, they were very good for bad groups. But then I never ran in bad groups. I just thought they were ... somewhat ruining for Keep raiding. It really went from I can't keep up with the DOTs and healing everyone to sit back, hit one skill and everyone is fine.
Yes, I had a Cleric and a Healer. I thought it went from Healing classes need skill to keep alive to wow I can be crap and everyone lives. It also really hurt the DOT classes like Cabbies and Shammies in keep raids.
Potion, MCL, Potion + a 2nd healing class and you could hold up forever against DOTs in a siege. It was only the PBAOE on doors and people porting in and out of the doors that you had to look out for.

They have LoS on healing spells, so this will effect it a little I imagine.
