What thoughts and images does your imagination conjur when you think about the Greenskin army?

I've enjoyed palying Orcs in WH Fantasy, they were my first and favorite army, the idea of being able to be one gear in the great Orcish war machine is a dream come true.

In terms of the TT game, hilarity. Whenever my friend pitched his greenskins against my DE's, he'd fail so many animosity roles it was untrue. One game virtually half his army had decided to beat the crap out of itself instead of me.

Add to this the enjoyable war machines and the like (oh come on, who doesn't love Doom Divers ?), they're great, provided you're not going to take it seriously.

When I think of Greenskins I think of a wave of them crossing over a hill, running as fast as they can, willingly trampling over their own - just to get to the enemy.

For some reason I find myself thinking of Magic:theGathering Goblins, as they're the only race similar in playstyle and incentives.
I don't nescessarily think simply of "Strength in numbers", as I might do for Skaven, but rather, a great gathering with intent of having a good fight, at any cost. No fair fighting, no mercy, just good ol' Waaaagh!

That, and Squigs. Lots of Squigs.

I always get the picture of a swampy landscape with a ton of dark figures crawling through the undergrowth, well that's plainly because my army are swamp orcs but that's not the point :p

I could use a ton of words here like , relentless , blood hungry , viscious , green zerg and ferocious but everyone's saying that . They make me think of a disease really , they destroy everything in there path , when one dies two more will take his place and it's impossible to destroy them completetly.

I love orcs they are my favorite warhammer TT army (my only one atm but I do plan on getting some dwarves in the near future).
Orcs are a natural disaster you cant really stop them you can maybe redirect them a bit but I have played so many TT games with them and I either win big or lose big there is no middle with those boyz ist so much fun its hillarious for example a unit of high elf spearmen apear in the front of my choppa and shield orc boyz wich cost all together 150 points with full command I fail my animosity test but I roll a 6 on the animosity table charge the elves and kick the crap out of them in in the 1st round the look on my opponents face was worth a million dolars::grin:
Orcs are an unstable mass od mayhem loving lunatics and I love them for it.
P.S. Fanatics are by far the craziest unit in warhammer and they alone can do more damage then a unit of chaos knights i seen it happend way too many times:)

Greenskins Hordes or their Waaaghs are what are best described as elemental forces of nature, but added with a level of malice and animal cunning to complement an already malevolent and brutal force. Greenskin Waaaghs are few and far between, though the few that do show up are like tornados, hurricanes or giant tidal waves. Unpredictable, undeniable and brutally irresistable in the extreme. A Waaagh can gather strength in a short amount of time, but also dissipate just as quickly, while others gather like storms out of sea and strike suddenly with such fury and unrelenting savagery that their effects lasts far longer than one can normally expect to withstand.

The best way to describe a Greenskin Waagh is to describe a natural disaster. "If you know theres one, you can try to prepare for it as much as you can. If you see one, then its already too late and all you can do is weather it and pray. Some are lucky and survive, most aren't. You can try to prepare for it, but you can never stop it."

I see great swarms of swarthy orc warriors charging headlong into ranks of enemy soldiers. Urged on by even larger more vicious orcs, they tear into their foe's with a reckless abandon and ferocity terrible to behold. Then in and amongst the green horde the smaller, sneakier goblins trickle into the fray. Seeking out the outnumbered or more beleaguered enemy combatants, they swarm over them dispatching them with a viciousness and vigor even greater than that of their larger greenskinned brethren.

That's what I think of when I think Greenskins.

Like many others I see them as an angered elemental force. Like a storm of angered green gods descended from some fungal olympus to crush all in their path (and each other of course).
But at the same time its not all about the raging and the chopping and the burning. They love every second of it, its more like a huge sport and every battle's the superbowl or world cup of their lives and they are the players and the rabid fans all at the same time.

Thats what being green is all about. Treat every day as your last day playing the game and poke 'em in the eye when the ref ain't looking. :D

I think orcs are misunderstood. They have cares and needs and wants. Inside that brutal looking and quite tough exterior is a child crying out for love and attention. A sensitive side that longs to be noticed and approved by those around them with the deepest respect.

To me they are a large group if not a swarm of powerful warriors racing towards the battlefield with a look of zeal and bloodlust in their expression and eyes. Forever in a struggle of who's "Bigga" and who's "Da Boss". They Stupid at times but they fight with the cunning and experience only found in an Orc that constantly meets battle even in times of peace. It was said that if they weren't too busy fighting theirselves, they'd be powerful enough to conquer the Warhammer World in both Fantasy and 40k Versions. They're lust of blood is never satisfied and they love fighting no matter what their enemy is. They are proud if not conceited when it comes to their green skin believing that they are the best and nothing can stand in their way.

My mind's eye summons a picture of massive and unruly formations of toothy, wizened evil-faced goblins, growling, stomping mobs of brutal Orc Boyz, hordes of ridiculous but still vicious snotlings all this acompanied by big beefy rock lobbas, crazed doom divers flopping about practicing with their bat wings for the Big Day, snotling pump wagons covered in shroomage lurching awkwardly but relentlessly toward unbelieving foes and of course, the gibbering swirling insanity that are the goblin fanatics dealing death at random to all about!
