Does a Goblin have a Dear Dairy slipped into his kangeroo pouch?
Is there much room for Roleplay for a Greenskin?
I'm still in thought on how I'm going to approach this game. I do love the lore side to Warhammer and having the oppertunity to do some writing is going to be fun.
But besides, fighting and kicking the crap out of each other untill we work out who's cooking the Dwarfen Breakfast for the morning. Is there any real deepth to the Greenskins in terms of RP?
Or on a MMO you play the game like your in paintball teams?
Just some off the top of my head thoughts.

fine example of some greenskin RPing there.
you're right about orcs lacking depth. that's almost the point of being an orc. you like fighting, you dont take from anybody bigger than you and you got a big choppa to smash your enemies with.
must be great being an orc

Ahh rping as an orc is great fun , The best thing about it is you get "stuck" in the orc swing and begin typing and even talking like it for awhile.
Me and my sister had a mock orc conversation , where she acted as a chaos lord and me an orc warboss ( yea we both collect orc and chaos armies aswell) and I couldn't help but talk almost orcish for half the day however hard I tryed not to.
It's really Really catchy.
And yea orcs don't have much depth , though you can have some fun storylines behidn them. The main issue with creating orc characters or rping is one is you don't have to overdo it , some people type so orcish you can't even read it ! also making your character to different can kinda screw over the orc concept = D

Indeed, WAAAAAAGGHHH!!! is really all you need to know... other than that, just totally butcher the english language into simple sounding words (sez, wot, yoo, etc), anything that ends with 'er' should be replaced with 'a', and fun phrases like 'Dat Zoggin' git!' are always welcomed.

I personally think the Orcs actually have a considerable amount of depth in Rping. For example, while it is rare it is possible, that an Orc could be a mercenary. Mabye he got tired leading Waaagh's and retired to go out fighting by himself?
Mabye he just wanted to go to the biggest dangerous areas of the Warhammer world, to test his strength? There are tons and tons of ideas i can come up with for Orcs, in fact im writing a fan fiction story on the Mark of chaos forums about an Orc.

Orc can be just whatever his little mind desires really, you just have to think stupid and not overly far'fetched and you are on the way of successfully making an orc. This also is pretty much the only race that you can boast like an utter idiots that you are the best noone can beat you because this attitude is expected from orcs.
On the other hand goblins are the exact opposite, they barely have any rights and rping the great goblin huha wotzits is barely original. Already going to think how many goblins are going to go around saying they are the uber leet kings of the badlands or whatnot, luckly they aren't given particularly meleeish class.
All in all greenskins aren't that hard to roleplay, unlike other races you don't need to know much of the lore (don't bother WAR exclusively gave orcs pretty much new lore all together Kazak Eight peaks :( ) the only daunting task (which I myself find fun) is the writing in the cockney orcish manner which can be hard to some and I am sure much will not even bother rping that way thus ruining the atmosphere but meh.

Kazgut,
Frankly, I am not english, and writing as an ORC is really a frigging pain in the , reading it too can be :( . So I could always try to do it in my mother language, but I really do not see how to adapt it lol, and anyway, I just hope for you rpers that sms language will not take over that orkish language :) (sms like in: u r l8 (might be called leet in english lol)
So i guess since i ll be a shaman gob, i guess i ll keep to plain all language except if i can find some decent infos on rules to write greenskin talk :)

I believe it quite possible to find a healthy medium between orcish and readable. Orcish basically works if you just speak out loud (or in your head) the words you read and try to make sense of them. After a while, you get accustomed to it. The "rules" Kazgut has put into his forum are quite practical, however. By the way, I still can't quite get a good idea on how a gobbo would speak... the standard orc-tongue seems too tailored for the brutish in-da-face way of orcs, but not the malign and cunning goblin.
By the way, english isn't my first language either.

Basic greenskin speaking!
Just a rough guide...
If a word starts with "th", change it to "d" ("The" becomes "Da", btw).
If a word begins with "h", change it to an apostrophe.
If a word ends with "c", change it to "k".
If a word ends with "ing", replace the "g" with an apostrophe.
That's roughly it for now. Let me give you an example.
"The medic who did this to me is going to hell!"
"Da medik who did dis to me is goin' to 'ell!"
That's the very basics. There's probably much better guides out there somewhere.

goblins roll their 'esses' abit more, and sound alittle more like either gollum from lord of the rings, or a PERFECT example is Blix the goblin from the movie Legend, however i cant find any media online that has him speaking, :/

I'd have my head chopped before I would allow Da Boyz to speak in leet/txt you can ask them on the forum I am trying to be somewhat strict as talking in orcish can lead to being lazy and that gives the rp guild a bad name. On the other hand the guide I posted which aren't rules at all because all orcs/gobbos have there own accents due to there being no official language should help you with talking in an orcish accent, Although its still not done and I am being a lazy ol' git.
Anyway english isn't my native country either and I can find orcish confusing at times but if your playing an orc/gobbo the language is what makes you a warhammer orc without that your just a green chump :P.

OH OH !!
i found a few sound files of Blix,
Thsi is what i think a goblin tends to sound like vocally.
http://whitewolf.htmlplanet.com/higher.wav
http://whitewolf.htmlplanet.com/paradise.wav
they are recorded at differnt volumes, paradise being the quieter of the two.
they would cut their words like orcs tend to.
example, "what will i do today? i know! smash some humans!"
'Wot will i do today? i kno! Smash some 'umies!"
but the sound of the voice, in my opinion, and a few games ive heard goblins talk, it has been very similar to those wav files.
if link doesnt work, go here http://whitewolf.htmlplanet.com/demons.html

Yea...if anyone trys speaking leet/txt/whatever in Da Boyz, they gunna get smashed by me and my minions....I mean big'uns, such as Kaz :)
Speaking like an orc isn't that hard though! Anyone can do it, just follow some basic rules. Let me show:
Regular
Listen up men, we go to war! A band of chaos warriors are fast approaching, and we will meet them and show them we are the best warriors ever!
In Orc:
Lissen up boyz! We'ze gunna go ta fight! Sum a' dem spikey boyz comin', an' we'ze gunna meet 'em an' show 'em tat orcz ar' da besest!

Check out http://www.shadowclan.org/ for RP orcs. I believe they're 5+ years old and have developed a nice way to roleplay. Language, titles, clans, ect. They've done it all.

RPing an orc ain't that hard.
Currently writing a story for my char Gobla. It's already 3 pages long :D. A small part of it is posted in the artist's corner and a bit more on the site of da boyz. But I'm keeping both posts short for now, I'll add more later. Long posts scare peepz away :P.
