Well, I hope I understand this properly, but I pre-ordered from gamestop a couple of days ago and I've already gotten my codes (took about 36 hours or something like that). The open beta code worked properly. The live game head-start did not (but that might be a timing issue).

I've read alot of people having problems getting their CE codes from the EAStore.. How widespread is that? I ended up getting mine a day or two after I ordered.

EA should be ashamed of themselves. I really hope a decent publication gets wind of this and puts some serious pressure on the company. It's now been 22 days with 0 explanation why people that ordered after July 22 have gotten their codes and we (those who ordered between the 17-22) haven't. Terrible company. I'll never order anything from them ever again.

Hi James, thanks for commenting on this. FYI, CE orders from the EAStore between the dates 7/17-7/22 have not received their codes. All orders before or after that have. Hopefully it will be today, but it seems to be just those specific dates in the 350+ post EA thread.

I agree, but even this thread doesn't help everyone else who hasn't gotten their codes from other sources: BestBuy, Gamespot, etc. I pre-ordered mine on April 18th. That was the week they announced preorders, I think. And still no codes for me.

I understand that Mythic sends out codes to retailers and retailers distribute them accordingly. But, none of the customers know who's done what one what side of the bargain. Being left in the dark when I'm throwin' up my cash like that doesn't sound like good business to me.

So, is it Mythic's fault for not sending out enough codes to respective retailers, or is it retailer's fault for not distributing them to their customers? We don't know and I bet we'll never know.

I'm sure enough have been sent by Mythic. There have been numerous posts of people saying that places such as Gamestop simply give out the codes to anyone, regardless if they have ordered a copy of the Collector's Edition.

I think he was confusing the EA Store codes with the CE Preorder codes which allow us to get into the closed beta next week. I had a similar question because I'm adding RAM and will need to update my dxdiag probably Monday. When are you checking the diag files for minimum CB specs? What if we update them next week, will we still be invited?

Emphasis on "current" here, so does that mean that if I pre-ordered the game from eastore.com AFTER the source was up (was posted on August 8th), then I will receive my codes on the week after August 13th? Or maybe I'm overlooking this, and everyone who pre-ordered the game prior to August 13th will receive their codes. :-|

So weird, I ordered mine during the 17-20th time frame, the morning of the 17th to be precise, and I had them By midday that Saturday(The 19th) Guess I got lucky.

You should of mailed them a long time ago.

Copy the confirmation letter over to notepad and send it with the ticket. They'll also want your e-mail address, name, date of purchase, etc.

I'd honoestly wait till someone provides the phone number, that seems to be the only way to get things done with EA. :P

Still waiting on my CE codes... Ordered July 19th. Funny after i opened a ticket they said that the codes come 3-10 days after ordering... now the only thing i get is this reply, THREE TIMES in a row to numerous questions...

this is obviously an attempt to stem the flow of ppl cancelling their EA preorders and switching to amazon, who are clearly on the ball and provide their codes instantly. If Amazon can provide their codes instantlyt, EA should be able to as well... but whatever.

Simple really, if my codes aren't in my email by 18:00 Aug 15th, I'm cancelling and rerolling on amazon.com. They came out w/ one 'hard' date already and simply blew past it, coming out with another less precise deadline ''next 24-48hrs' does not instill confidence.
EAstore is clearly experiencing a lot of ppl rerolling with other retailers, if the playerbase keeps this up instead of acting like lemmings being lead towards a cliff by a carrot, maybe EA will learn its lesson...

can't really blame them hiding the instructions for canceling orders but it is still a pretty underhanded business practice imo.

To cancel a preorder from EAstore:

click customer service, click contact us,
choose PC from platform list, choose warhammer from game list, choose account/billing from the topic list and choose pre-order cancellation from the subject list.

they'll want the:
email address used to order
last 4 digits of the credit card
date of birth listed on the account
zip code listed on the account

more detailed instructions used to be found by going to the customer service knowledge base and searching for "cancellation form"... but it seems as if they have removed that entry, as it no longer shows up by using that search string.

So basically those of us who ordered the CE have gotten the royal shaft. Which is really funny as EA now owns Mythic. So basically paying an extra $40 for the CE is getting us nothing.

If the NDA is lifted before Open Beta, will the CE preorders that exceed minimum system requirements and may or may not have been rejected because of affiliations (whether interpreted and checked appropriately or not) be invited to CB? This only makes sense, as so many of the CE rejects appear to still have more than ample systems and claim to have no such affiliations...and the NDA is the only thing that could keep them out.

I have three main cards I used, and preordered over a month ago. The information isn't saved under my account / order, nor was it in the receipt email : /

I called up my carriers too, but knew there wouldn't be any information, being how ea handles preorders.

I am a CS Supervisor, and there is nothing more. We have no way to issue
codes manually. The system that is set up is an automated process, the
process is working its way through. If there was anyway to get you your
codes any faster I would do this for you. You may call our support team at
650-628-1001, they will tell you the same thing, and you can ask for a
supervisor to call you back and they will give you the same message.

While I'm not entirely sure why you received that response do realize that EA is a pretty huge company, with many studios and services making up its whole. We generate the codes to send to all retailers, including EA Store.

And like all retailers we work with EA Store to ensure they're up to date and understanding of all our pre-order offers.

Agree, instore is definately the way to go, I did get my CE from Amazon, and got my codes right away.

SAD SAD that these "profesional" gaming places canyt do something as easy as get some codes e-mailed out to their customers.

ALSO understand, that these are RETAIL problems of no codes, or CE codes with other versions and such. I am self assured that MYTHIC gives instructions to each retailer on how to issue the codes, and who gets them, then the RETAILERS just do what they want.

The guy at my local GAMESTOP told me that they gave all the codes they had away at a LAN party at the local UNIVERSITY for participation prizes

i had the codes within a few hours.

try this before coming here to post. if they can mail codes out when someone complains, they can mail them out to everyone.

yeah, this is the one time i haven't gone with a hardcopy preorder box and i'm regretting it.
the floor nub at my local best buy canada said they weren't going to do hardcopies for WAR preorder... i figured they were going green or saving costs or something... /shrug good idea in theory....maybe i should have manned up and bit the EBgames 10$ surcharge for being EBgames and saved myself this hassle...hindsight is 20/20 etc etc

I also have not gotten my pre-order codes from EAstore. Upon trying their email based tech support, I have to wait minimum of 24 hours (sometimes 36 hours) between each email as I keep getting sent back with "I need more info." All I asked is how long codes took to be sent. Maybe tomorrow I will get my actual codes as a response...

For those that ordered through the EA Store, I have a question.

Are we going to have to wait for our actual package to arrive to begin playing the game after the head start?

Since it takes 5-10 days to ship, are we going to get to play 3 days and then be forced to wait a week for our Game CD-Key to arrive before we can keep playing?

Well, heres some semi-ish hope for ea preorders.

Finally received 3 codes in my latest petition. Fast forward through two minutes of happy to find the beta, headstart, and even the item code were already activated!

/sigh, I thought i was finally done with ea.. I can see it feasible to prove one had never received codes, but how does one prove the codes were already active when they arrived >.>

I finally got my last set of codes after my 4th ticket submitted to EA, so have faith! One odd thing though... according to my Mythic Account Management screen they appear to be CE codes, but I'm not complaining. :shock:

I had the same problem with the store. I think the ticket people may only have one set of codes to give out.

I preordered mine on the 19th, And have yet to get my codes, Response to first ticket took a couple hours, Haven't gotten response to second ticket for a couple of days.

Do they send out batches every day or every other day? I ordered from the EA Store this morning only to find out afterward of so many problems involving them, also them removing Warhammer from the game list for in contacting them about canceling the pre-order.

I want to know if I should cancel the pre-order today and go through Amazon or not.

Kvajavs, Id be wary about Amazon too. I actually preorded from Amazon first, but if you read the comments at the bottom, it appears they are reusing the OB codes. So when a person preorders, then cancels, and they've already used their open beta code on filefront or mythic, then the next person is screwed, because the codes already been used. The headstart works fine though. I switched over to EA hoping to get a beta code that wasnt already in use, but apparently anywhere that beta codes are being 'emailed' is having trouble. (i.e. they are all stupid and suck at management and customer support.)
