I pre ordered in store at best buy like a month ago and got the codes right then and there. Bestbuy.com told my friend they would get his codes emailed to him on 17 aug. cause he ordered online. Bestbuy.com customers will easily get codes before OB. OB is basically a stress test i think people are under the Idea that OB is going to be for a solid month or something. I don't remember what retail site leaked it but it was stated OB would be sep3-sep12 headstart was sep 15,16,17 with release on 18 with a level cap of 20. How acurate is this? hell if i know I can't even find the site anymore but It seems like many people are under the idea that OB will start this weekend or next. Personally I hope it does! but i doubt it.

Hey Big choppa, I think you are fairly accurate, but from what I was told the other day they added a day to the free head start, plus they added a preview weekend or something like that, and I think that I saw somewhere that the dates that were leaked were wrong (they were talking about the official release date I think, but not sure if that goes along with the sept 3rd OB date as well) which is why they ended up putting the tentative release date as the 18th unless something goes drastically wrong.

I agree though I hope that OB starts this weekend but I doubt it will based on the fact that they did the CE CB invites this weekend, so they will prob give them a week or 2. Least that is my speculation, I dont really care I just want the Dev's to finish up the 2 remaining issues so that they can lift the NDA and give us some more info to make our greedy hearts happy.

Also I forgot to mention that I got my CE-preorder from bestbuy in store and I have had the code ever since then. It looks like I got mine on may 8th, was pretty bloody lucky personally it was the last box in the store LOL.

nothing stopping you from dling the game, you can do it via torrent if ya find it, even if ya cant log in , you will have a large chunk of the game.

So glad I met a nice manager at a Game Stop who got me beta codes that have now gotten me into beta, so I didn't have to wait on Bestbuy.com

I'm sure they're sick of getting my emails also. Screw bestbuy, never buying anything from there again unless I have to.

Yea, it's good to see that they are going to e-mail them. But, it's stupid that they still don't release a date. Very soon means nothing. Very soon avoids a fixed date and perhaps could even mean the 16th or the 17th.

I hope very soon means within 24 hours.

I ordered the pre-order for the Collector's Edition the same day that the store had it in-stock. However, since I ordered it online from BestBuy, I have yet to get any of my CE codes. I realize that they are coming soon, but I do feel somewhat shafted. Granted, the Closed Beta invites were like a cherry on top of an already great product.

To me, I just feel a little sad. I am paying $90.00 for the CE (shipping costs apply. I live 50 miles from the nearest retail store besides a local wal-mart). Yet, I feel like I missed out on a lot of really cool stuff because BestBuy didn't get the codes out to us quicker. I wish I was able to get a Closed Beta invite, but BestBuy ruined that for me pretty quickly.

All-in-all; I do understand that these bonuses aren't a huge deal, but I still feel like I paid too much when I don't get much more than a Special Edition copy owner. I probably won't even get to see preview weekend if BestBuy does not get on the ball. I just wish Mythic would do something cool that *ALL* people could enjoy that purchased the CE. Especially since I bought it months in advance.

Please note, I don't blame Mythic in the least. They are a great company doing the best that they can. It is not their fault in any way, shape or form. However, that doesn't make people in the same situation as me any less upset about it.

Also, according to my conversation with a BestBuy customer support manager for Internet sales -- The codes will be emailed anytime within August 16th - 18th. We will miss the first few days of the OB download in all honesty. The manager told me this information on a few seperate occasions. I have been calling them about the codes for a few months now.

Admins: Would there be any possible way that the people in the same situation could get together, and maybe start some official thread to professionally ask for them to review the BestBuy situation, and possibly send another batch of invites? I am not asking for a place to point any fingers -- but a medium that we consumers could use as a collective voice. An admin could even maintain the information, and review any content to be posted. I am just asking for a little help to expose the post, and get the attention of Mythic. I understand if this is not possible.

I feel annoyed too, but I just dont see any way to get satisfaction from bestbuy. I dont feel that mythic owes me anything (unless it was them that witheld the codes from bestbuy as so many customer assistant guys claimed) and there is nothing bestbuy will do to make it up to me. I guess I will just have to be happy that I will eventually get the game. Of course I still dont think we will get the codes before the 17 like the initially said not that it really matters. Right now I just want them to be able to dl the game after the 15th so I can stare at the icon on my desktop wallpaper of WAR. lol

Yeah. I suspect that Best Buy is telling the truth about not having the codes. When I talked to a customer service rep (and wasn't hung up on) she knew exactly what I was calling about and said she had already talked to a customer service manager about the situation but there was simply nothing they could do without the codes. As they seemed informed of the issue and lost alot of $90 sales over this I think they would have fixed it if they could have.

As someone else said in a different thread about this it feels like a problem a manager at Mythic could have taken care of in a couple of hours if they knew about the problem, and that this is a great example of why an official forum would be really useful. Also the cookie cutter responses to any email regarding this that we sent to Mythic was really annoying (read the threads on this issue and you will see many, some even politely worded).

I don't think that Mythic owes me anything besides what was promised, and I am really looking forward to the game still (and have been for almost 2 years now), but it is annoying to not even be considered for the CB just because I happened to pick one of their official online preorder partners. Honestly I think the problem is simply that the CB invites were a last minuit decision to appease the annoyed CE preorders and they forgot that BestBuy was getting their codes late. The recent post about the BestBuy codes seems to support that as soon as someone at Mythic was aware of the problem, they took action about it. It would have been nice if someone had read one of those emails that were sent in and said "Oh, we can actually fix this easily" and passed it on up the chain.

If Mythic does another round of invites after BestBuy preorders have their codes it will make me alot happier, if not I'll be annoyed but happy once OB starts (and I have the client).

Sorry for the long post, I'm at work and have nothing to do.

I just posted on the Q&A section regarding this but see below.

I just got off the phone with BestBuy online purchases Customer Service. They informed me that the Codes are not scheduled for release until the week of the 17th (next Monday). This tells me two things; 1. The codes could be emailed to me anytime durring this week, not necessarilly on Monday and 2. this is two days after the Beta opens to everyone else.

people who have pre-ordered the game through places like Gamestop etc already have their codes. I find this very unacceptable.

The 17th date is pretty well known already to the BestBuy preorderers. As to it being 2 days after everyone is let in, that's not necessarily true. The site to input the rest of your codes opens on the 15th but as far as I know we still have no firm date for OB or PW. No point in getting worked up over those until we know for sure.

Nothing from BestBuy yet, However i have been in the Closed Beta now for 4 days and it's really cool (for a Beta) usually actual release is better. THey just took the servers down for updates (this means getting them Rdy for Open Beta) So it shouldn't be too long and hopefully Codes come in the next day or 2.

Oh ya, I'll say this.

If they plan on the open Beta running off the Torrent Program for file downloads (I don't know if this is how they plan to get the files out to Open Beta Users) I would DL the utorrent client and get rdy for 9+ Gigs of info. This is a lot of information to DL and it will take almost 2 days if you have Cable or modem (does anyoe use dial up anymore hehe I hope NOT). DSL users have a much faster DL. The WoW open Beta was 4 gigs i think and it took me 22hrs on Cable. This is a Peer to Peer Game like WoW so the more people streaming info the faster the DL. Well at least that's what they say. It still took me 2 days to DL the Closed Beta with over 5K peokple playing.

I called Best Buy again today, and was told:

"We have been sent an email from corporate that says anyone calling about the CE pre-order should be told that their codes will be mailed out at some point this week."

Well, that sucks for people that still have to download 10GB before this weekend to enjoy preview weekend. I mean, it will take some people a few days to download the client. People in rural areas will probably take around 4 days to download.

Best Buy really dropped the ball on this. So far we have already missed our chance to ever being apart of the closed beta, even though people like me have pre-ordered the CE 5 months ago now. We can only hope that this company will finally take initiative to give us what we paid for.

I assume Best Buy is being flooded with calls, because I had to call twice to speak to a manager about a horrible customer service rep, and hit the same rep every single time I said the order was about this game. So, they have basically assigned one person to handle all traffic regarding this pre-order. If you call and get a person named Joseph, be careful. I asked for an update, and spent the last 20 minutes arguing with him to let me speak to his manager, to only be told that "You don't deserve to talk to my manager. You don't have that right, so don't call back".

Good job, Best Buy! I REALLY hope Mythic never partners with this scum company ever again. However, our calls are finally getting to them! Call back often to ensure they want to get us the codes as much as we want them.

Me and buddy got our codes today. Make sure you call them and enable the direct mailing from best buy or you wont get your codes. They may have to resend them.

I have it set up so that Best Buy sends their e-mail's to one account, and from there, all e-mails are automatically forwarded to my other account. Would that sort of system mess up the e-mail with the keys?
